It went very well. It's been very hot so it was very good.

All components installed were Trane except for Nexia thermostat. This review covers the period from the initial purchase to both the installation and the first annual maintenance inspection. We were very pleased with all facets of North Winds involvement in the purchase, installation and follow up activity. Russ Kesterson of North Winds and Jeff Kelly of Lowe's came to our home and explained the various systems available - based on Russ's explanation, I felt very comfortable with the purchase we made - Russ's is extremely knowledgeable of both heating and air conditioning systems and components and has exceptional communication skills. I have had occasions to contact Russ both before and after the installation with questions and he was always responsive and able to answer all questions to my satisfaction. The installation of the equipment was outstanding - the men were very professional and thorough in their work. The equipment has been operating very well for over a year without any issues. This past September, North Winds did the annual inspection of our new equipment - again, they were very thorough - very professional job. Based upon my experience with North Winds, I would recommend them to anyone needing new heating or air conditioning systems - I consider North Winds to be the best in this business.

Furnace would not stay running in high heat mode. Very professional diagnosis and service.

Russ came out very quickly and did a very thorough assessment. we walked through my house and he discussed the whole project. Russ used very friendly terminology so we understood everything. Russ was also very thorough in reviewing our current boiler and water heater statuses.

Jon and Mike were there when promised, removed the old water heater, and installed the new one. They didn't mind my asking a whole bunch of questions, answering them thoroughly, and they cleaned up the area to my satisfaction. I would definitely hire them again! In fact, next year, I'm thinking about adding central air. I will call them then!

I explained to the technician that I was aware my furnace was very old, but could not afford to replace it at the time. He examined the furnace, told me he found carbon monoxide, and shut the furnace down (luckily it was October and not January). He sold me a $200 carbon monoxide detector, and the company scheduled a salesman to visit to give me an estimate on a new furnace and air conditioner. I decided to get a second opinion on my existing furnace and was told there was no carbon monoxide problem. I stopped in at the office to discuss this. I was assured that there must have been a mistake, and was refunded 100% of my money.

The hot water heater failed and I'm sure most people would prefer to not be without hot water, I do, I wanted to be able to take a shower. I wanted to be able to wash our clothes.

Everyone was very polite and professional. If they needed extra person or supplies, they introduced themselves each time before entering.

The service was very good. The dispatched took very good care of me, they worked with my schedule. The tech that they sent out was very good and wore booties in the house.

We have a complex Carrier system with two furnaces and 8 zones. We wanted to upgrade to wifi thermostats throughout the house for convenience. We contacted 4 different local HVAC companies. We only received one quote and that was from Phil at North Winds. The other companies weren't able to figure out what system to put in place to achieve what we wanted. We purchased the thermostats online and North Winds replaced the zone controllers and installed the thermostats that we provided. All thermostats and zones functioned as expected. After the install, I noticed the zone control motors squeaking loudly and making odd noises. Phil was very responsive by e-mail of my concerns. It appeared that due to the age and style of the existing damper motors, they were not suitable for one reason or another with the new zone control boards. Phil suggested that he would install new motors at no additional charge if I would purchase them. I agreed and frankly thought that this was fair given the age of the existing motors. I purchased the motors that I needed online and he promptly scheduled an appointment and installed them. The system now works as expected and I have brand new zone motors that should last many years that were professionally installed.

We purchased our Trane furnace from North Winds. We had maintenance done & filter replaced yesterday, as well as having them clean our tank water heater. The serviceman was courteous and respectful, and went straight to work. However, this morning we had no hot water. My husband found the pilot was out, and tried to re-start it, but it wouldn't stay lit. We had to assume that the serviceman didn't re-start the pilot, bumped something, etc., so my husband called and they did send out a different serviceman around 11:00 this morning. He worked on the water heater and did not charge us for this additional call (which we felt was appropriate), and within 1.5 hrs. of his departure we did have our hot water back. However, I have to say that an experience like this cuts into my confidence in a service provider, especially when the 2nd serviceman made sure to write estimates for replacement water heaters and repair cost for the gas control of the current heater right on the call record (unasked), the implication being that the current water heater won't last long anyway - ?? - and the serviceman made a point of saying that we apparently hadn't purchased the current water heater from North Winds (we hadn't - we bought it from another local, and very reputable, company). That felt to me like the company was trying to cover up the fact that one of their service people had made a mistake. We had purchased a one-year service contract with North Winds as part of having the furnace and water heater maintenance done, and now I wish we hadn't.

I called the company Friday and they got a tech to my house the next town over by 1:30 p.m. He was pleasant, very clean uniform and had shoe protectors. I told him I hated my digital thermostat and he had three manual units on his truck---one of which was just what I wanted. He installed it immediately and I love, love, love it. Then he tackled the furnace cleaning job, only to discover it was not working. In short order, he found a huge bird's nest stuck tightly in the furnace vent pipe. It involved getting a ladder and working for a couple hours unsticking the mess---which was thick enough that it was causing the carbon monozide problem. While he was clinging to the ladder on the side of my house, the first snow squall of the season---with 40 mile an hour winds blew in. It was brief, but miserable. He never wavered in his determination to get my heat going, tho I'm sure he was thinking about being elsewhere---somewhere warm. I have lived in this town for three years and I always try to use local suppliers, but after three years of horrible service, I feel that I have finally found someone I can depend on--just a few miles away. They advertise 24/7 and emergency service. On Saturday, one of their representatives brought a carbon monoxide detector to my house and set it up. It showed that the air in my house was good to go. On Monday, the tech came back for a courtesty call and again checked the carbon monoxide level, which was 0. They may be a little pricey, but as you know----You get what you pay for!! I'm very happy with North Winds.

North Winds, was great to work with, they were prompt to provide a quote, the next day after emailing them. They provided a somewhat complex quote quickly and were able to respond quickly once I agreed to purchase a new furnace and air conditioning system from them. The person I with whom I worked with was Nate Potts. Nate was very knowledgeable, and was great to work with, he was flexible when we could meet for signatures and payments. Overall represented North Winds well. It was clear the technicians were experienced and knowledgeable as the installation was completed well with attention to details. Overall I would recommend North Winds for your next Heating or Air conditioning needs.

We already had central air, so the replacement was pretty quick and easy. The 1.5 hour estimation/consultation was extremely thorough...way more thorough than any other business I had come by for an estimate. Their estimate was in the middle of all our estimates. We ultimately went with them because of their consistently high reviews on Angie's list. The installation crew arrived on time and were gone in just under 5 hours. They left the work site clean, other than some drips of oil on our concrete from the old unit which they brought to our attention. They also left behind the old copper lines upon request. Initially, they asked us to keep our dog in a room because "some of us have been bitten by dogs in homes before." Shortly after, one of the workers let our dog sniff him and let us know he personally had been bitten. Once he get used to them, he calmed down soon after and was able to roam free. The electrician from Custom Electric was great too. He updated the power line to code and was fantastic with our dog. Overall, very pleased with our experience.

They left the area okay. I'd recommend them to others.

Everything went as expected as far as I can remember. I purchased Angie's coupon special. They cleaned and installed a new filter and explained what they were doing. I felt that it was money well-spent. I would use Northwinds again.

We'd had this problem with our furnace for a while and thought it was the thermostat. We replaced the thermostat and it still shut off after getting the room up to 66 degrees. North Winds came out and looked at our furnace. Said we didn't have enough cold air intakes so the furnace was tripping the overheat sensor. Said our furnace probably worked good while the parts were new, but now that it was 18 years old, it was having problems. Recommended options that we could do ourselves to help fix the problem.

Furnace went out, and service person, Casey, came and told me it was leaking a small amount of carbon monoxide and had to be replaced. Sherri came over and told me my options, and the next day, my new furnace was installed. Everyone was very professional, prompt, and very personable. I would definitely recommend them!

I appreciated that they would call me 30 min before arrival so I could remain at work and go to the home when called.

They are extremely professional, very knowledgeable and competent. They're punctual. They come when they say they're going to come. They're similar to other companies in price.

Perfect. The CSR was courteous and listened to my concerns. Based on this, she was able to move up my appointment. When the heating/cooling tech, Rick, arrived he was dressed appropriately, had a excellent personality, and was sincerely interested with my concern.

I've used them for several years for my furnace maintenance. When it was finally time to replace my furnace the Northwinds staff was as professional, respectful, trustworthy and kind as always. I highly recommend them!

It took longer than expected and required more than the original 2 people to complete. A tech had to come out to fix a water leak that occurred during the install but the tech said the humidifier just needed to be lowered and it wasn't a huge issue. Also, the filter compartment was put in in the wrong direction and the initial installer wouldn't reverse it and another tech had to come out and fix the mistake.
