It went well! The technician arrived during the time period, checked possible causes for the door problem, found the cause, and replaced the part. He explained every step in detail - very professional!

The door cable broke and the was twisted. I talked to Dave on a Sunday afternoon and he had Bill out here Monday morning. Bill was very professional explaining the problems and solutions. He was able to save the door and save me money. I would recommend ASAP to anyone who has problems with their door or need any other work done!

The whole experience from start to finish was about as painless as can be. The response (from Angieslist request to phone call) was extremely quick, and everything played out exactly as was described / explained to me. The person they sent over (Paul) was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and (as far as I can tell) performed high quality work. He even took the time afterwards to answer other questions I had; I will definitely be calling them again if/when I need more work. (Note: the "if/when I need more work" would be dictated by whether we upgrade to a minivan, which would then necessitate a renovation to a larger garage door than we currently have installed. It is not related to this round of repairs)

Overall, it was a great experience working with A-1 Door Systems. They arrived on time in cold, snowy weather. The person that repaired the garage door was polite, professional, and finished the job quickly. The price was great too, it cost $265 to replace 2 garage door springs.

Everything was great! They came out when they said they would (1 day later because they were busy and even apologized for it!) I received fast, friendly service and the cost was very reasonable! Wonderful company!

Excellent response to us and our need to get cars out of the garage. They came the same day, got the door back on track and ordered parts, which were rare because the door is 60 years old. They made the repair on a Saturday (parts came late Friday). Impressive. Door now works like a new one. Tom and Matt were very knowledgable and polite. The door repair and maintenance were clearly explained. I wish all home repairs could go this way.

Someone came out the same day I called and gave me a quote on replacing a couple of doors with insulated ones. Two days later they came back and installed the doors. They did a great job. Everyone was friendly and great to work with. I would use them again and recommend them.

Paul did an awesome job coming out to quote, he made sure I was getting exactly the type of door, track, and opening that I wanted. He even raised my rafters up 1 foot, with a 15 degree radius to net me the space I was after. I’m thankful for for finding such a great company. Paul worked late into the evening without me even being there and even had to shuffle some of my things around the garage. Great Guy, and great company. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Extremely quick response to my request for quote. Company did not try to sell me a new opener but instead repaired my existing one. Technician was prompt and professional. The technician was able to complete the work within about 1/2 hour. Dennis the technician provided us with an excellent experience.

Called back to know the price, as was considering doing it myself (not recommended) and the springs are about $45 each. The person who answered was evasive and non-committal on how much it would cost. I thought I smelled a scam or up-sell. Cancelled the appointment (btw, I was mistaken in follow up conversation below - thought it was a young lady). The Owner called back, much to his credit, to make it "right". The "damage was done" and my instincts were to stick with my decision and declined his offer. Just a lesson to make sure you know what you are getting into - not saying they are bad, but in general, be careful.

The process was easy. the price was fair. Dave was responsive to phone calls and patient with questions. Danny was the installer and was professional, hard working and really knows his stuff. It was truly as easy an experience as it possible could have been.

I am in the process of preparing for sale a home of a deceased relative in Warren Michigan. The property needed a new garage door and opener. Not being from that area, I turned to Angie's List to identify a highly rated firm to do the work. That led me to A-1 and to Lee Parker, its sales manager. Lee guided me carefully through my options and made valuable suggestions. After we settled on the models of door and opener, the work was scheduled well within my time frame. And the installation as well as removal of the old equipment and clean-up were all accomplished in a way that met my needs and even exceeded expectations. Add to that the fact that the price was competitive and very fair. All in all, a most satisfying experience.

They came out on time and did a really good job. Helped me pick the best possible repair for long-term quality. The cost ended up being higher than I originally anticipated, but the replacement parts are much higher quality than the original, and overall it was well worth it.
