Decided to go with someone else.
Description of Work: I called this company and talked to Andy about how to get an estimate. He gave me the steps to follow. The first step was to submit a drawing with measurements. The sites states 24 hrs response. I didn't get a call so I called Andy and he said he promised to look at it at the latest the next day. The next day, I received an email saying that he couldn't understand the measurements and it didn't make sense. I tried to reach Andy with no luck. I sent him several emails and pictures of our kitchen. I never got a response from him (email or phone). I really wanted this to work out based on all the reviews. The site is very down to earth but unfortunately they are very unresponsive. I decided not to chase this company anymore and decided to go with someone else.

We never did any work for this homeowner. Not sure why a quote was never delivered. Sometimes we have to pass on out of town jobs, like this one, when we can't accurately produce a quote from their drawing.

My wife did all of the investigation and planning for this. She started with calls outside of Angie's List network before I gave her a recommendation to call Trusted Improvements base on my Angie's List search. She was very impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of Trusted Improvements from the beginning. Andy came over and did all of the estimates which included various options. Once signed up, Radu from Global Marble and Granite came over to do all of the measurements and recommendation that we could match the existing piece of granite on the island. My wife and I then went to their showroom / warehouse to confirm our granite selection which included bringing back a piece home to double check. On day of install, Radhu and two others came over ~ 9:30 AM as promised. They methodically removed old countertops, sink and faucets. Then they brought in each new piece of granite which fit perfectly (although some of my original drywall was not perfectly straight so had to be cut to fit nicely. Andy arrived during the granite install process to help and also start work on removingold corbel (2) and trim for granite bar support. While Andy went to home depot to get plumbing parts for new faucets, Radu and others completed the granite install and had left ~ 2:00. Andy completed all of the plumbing hookups with no real issues and was gone ~ 4:00. They were all pleasant to deal with and very professional. Kitchen looks great!

Andy LaDuke was outstanding to deal with. He is a very pleasant and honest contractor, who was genuinely interested in us being satisfied with the entire project. He was very competitively priced. We had to postpone starting the work a few times for various reasons (all unrelated to Andy) and Andy was very accommodating of our changing timetable. Andy was very efficient in his work. He had excellent assistants helping him. He had to rip out all the existing cabinets, countertops and faucets, as well as removing many built in wall mirrors, all of which was done quickly and without any damage to the walls or floor tiles. Andy offered some good advice as far as colors, cabinet layout and other features of the project, which was helpful. This was a big project for us, having 4 bathrooms under renovation at the same time, and Andy made it painless as possible. We love the cabinets from the Bridgewood Advantage line that he recommended. They are really well made, function great and look beautiful. The countertops were provided by Andy's subcontractor, Radu, a real professional when it comes to granite. There was an wide selection of stone for us to choose from, and Radu did a terrific job at the countertop installation. We selected faucets (on our own, not through Andy) which were beautiful but difficult to install due to their design, but Andy was able to get them all in and working properly. Andy is an excellent cabinet contractor and I would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: We had cabinets, faucets and countertops in our master bathroom and 3 other bathrooms removed and replaced (5 total cabinets and countertops). Large wall mirrors were removed.

Trusted Improvement's Andy LaDuke, and his ace granite fabricator Radu, should be your "go to guys" for kitchen granite work. I downloaded their handy Excel application for designing your work, filled it in with our kitchen measurements, and sent it to them via e-mail. The next day I received their estimate via return e-mail. The estimate was as expected, so I call Mr. LaDuke and scheduled a visit for the following day. He arrived exactly on time, confirmed (and corrected) my measurements, discussed granite options and edging, and agreed on a price. Three days later, their granite expert, Radu, arrived, did precise measurements, and laid out sink and stove top locations. We then visited their granite showroom, selected a specific slab, and two weeks later (to the day), Radu was ready to install the new counter tops. Installation was a joy. Radu and his assistant arrived promptly, demo'd the existing counters and removed the debris. They installed the new granite counter tops slowly and carefully - adjusting out of plumb cabinets with shims to create a perfectly level counters. They cut holes for the sink faucets and stove top onsite to make sure they were correctly positioned. When finished, they swept and vacuumed the kitchen and removed all signs of their work. The people of Trusted Improvement are a pleasure to work with and their prices are great. We love our new granite counter tops. My only regret is that we don't have a second kitchen so I could hire them again.

The whole experience couldn't have been better. Andy came to my house on 7/23/12 to quote the job and the granite was installed on 8/2/12. There was no pressure. Andy answered all of our questions and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't want. We were concerned about damage to our tile since we purchased it when we lived in Portugal, so it has sentimental value. Andy said they would try not to damage it, but made no promises. Radu, the stonecutter was very careful during the tearout and there was only one minor chip in the bottom of one tile, that I wouldn't have noticed if he didn't point it out. There were no surprises and Radu and his crew took great pains to clean up as the demolition and installation proceeded. Andy ended up doing the plumbing work, because his plumber was tied up on another job. Andy suggested, when he quoted the job, that we get a new faucet because they couldn't guarantee the reinstallation of our old one. We have a grohe faucet and decided to keep it. It wasnt an issue as Andy had no difficulty reinstalling it. I would highly recommend Andy and Trusted Improvenment. The look of our kitchen has been upgraded tremendously. We couldn't be more pleased with the result.
Description of Work: We had a granite island removed as well as our corian veneer countertops. The quote included unhooking my cooktop, disposal, water filtration and reconnecting them. There was an additional charge of $100 to remov e the granite island and $125 for the cooktop (6 burner gas cooktop). The plumbing was $280. The level one granite was $45 per square foot, which included the 4 inch backsplash and a 60/40 undermount stainless steel sink.

very smooth from initial contact through the finish, called Andy on Sunday evening, left a message, and he called back the next morning, and came to measure that same day. Got a great price, and were told the stone cutter would call to come and make a template within 3 or 4 days. Sure enough he called in 3 days came over and made a template, and we set up an appointment for picking out our slab. Radu (the stone cutter was very helpful in picking out our color. Everybody was prompt, and friendly, and very professional lthrough out the entire job. Radu took time to level our cabinets, and would not install the granite until he was sure everything was right. Took great care not to damage our tile above the new backsplash, very highly recommended. An update to my review:. The last thing to do was install my brand new single handle faucet. I bought it myself from a wholesaler and when we opened the box, it was damaged. (the handle would not stay on, i guess it broke due to rough handling during shipment). Andy installed it, got the handle leak to a level we could live with, until the new replacement arrived. The new one came in two days, I called Andy and he came over that day, removed the broke one, and installed the new one. He sure made my wife and myself very happy customers. I already got a rough estimate for a new tub, tile etc. for my bath, before Andy left, and will call Trusted Improvement to do the project. Trusted Improvement went above and beyond my expectations .

Andy was very professional from the start. he spent a lot of time with us talking about the layout we wanted, the backsplash we wanted, and how to achieve it. He answered all our questions promptly, whether we asked by phone, email or text. He was very flexible with our design goal, constructively adding advice on ways to make it better. Andy has people who can help you with your idea, from picking the granite, to designing the backsplash, to picking the perfect faucet. We highly recommend his services and will use him again in future projects.

I contacted Trusted Improvement for a estimate. That same week Andy came to my home for a free in home estimate. A few days later a representative came to my home to take the final measurements. The following week I went to the showroom to personally pick my slab of granite. The possibilities seemed endless. A week later they came and installed my beautiful countertops. The installers were very professional and nice. My experience with this company has been very positive. I strongly recommend them.

If you are reading this.....you were probably just like me when you came across Trusted Improvement and wondered if their claim that they could install your granite for 50% less than your local Home Depot, Lowes, or custom granite shop was legitimate. Well, it is the real deal and Andy DeLuke delivered on everything his website claimed. INITIAL CONTACT I e-mailed Andy our layout with exact measurements on a Wednesday morning and within a half hour he had sent me a reply stating the cost would be $4,050 for a 100 square foot measurement as well attached a list of 80 references that I could contact regarding his work. I told him to have someone call me for an in home measurement. By the way, I did call three of his references and they all said that he delivered on his promise and the work was of quality. STEP 1 That same day Andy let me know that someone could be at my home at 3:30pm to take the initial measurement and verify the price. Sure enough Drew showed up with samples of the granite colors as well as the sink and verified the price. We gave Drew 10% down and he told me within three business days their stone cutter would call to set up a time to take a template at my home. He actually called me within two days to set up a time to do this. STEP 2 Their stone cutter came to our home and showed us edging that was covered as well as upgrades if we wanted them. He was very courteous and professional. He measured the tops and made his template as well as made sure we understood how the installation would go and helped us with picking out our edge. I have to say that Rado (Rah'do) was very professional and we really felt that he had our best interest in mind and covered all our questions. Before he left we set up a time to meet him at the warehouse in Shelby Township to pick out our actual granite slabs!! How exciting is that. STEP 3 We met at the granite warehouse to pick out our slabs. What a unique experience if you have never done this. We were showed all of the colors that are considered Level 1 on their website as well as a few extras. Rado helped us narrow down our choice and we settled on our slab choice, reserved it, and off we went. He told us he would call the following week to set up our installation date. STEP 4 Our granite was installed less than two weeks from us picking it out just like the website said. The installation team showed up on time and did an incredible job with the installation. They had drop cloths for our floors which was nice. They removed the old counters, sink, and cooktop. After that they installed the new granite tops and backsplash along with the stainless steel undermount 60/40 sink. They also installed my new cooktop and rehooked all the plumbing on the sink after the granite was in place. They were careful in making sure our house was kept as clean as possible through the whole process. The seams were perfect, the color was what we picked out, the edges looked great and the granite was sealed and polished. Everything they said they would do was completed before I made final payment. Andy, our many thanks to you and the wonderful people that work for you! A special thanks to Rado for his patience and professionalism which was much appreciated. We are RAVING FANS!! We will gladly refer you to others that can receive the same value and benefit from the quality work you do.
Description of Work: Installed 3cm Granite Countertops along with a 4" backsplash. They also provided a 60/40 stainless steel sink and removed and disposed old countertops. For an additional $200 they took care of the plumbing on the sink and hooked up the new kitchen faucet we had purchased. We also had a new cooktop that they installed for us.

This was the fourth granite estimate I received. I contacted Trusted and spoke with the owner Andy. He was very easy to get a hold of and come to my house 2 days after my initial call. He showed up on time and was very easy to talk to. There was no hard sales pitch and I felt comfortable with my decision to hire him. I was concerned about the seam placement and the fact that my cabinets were not level. He assured me that my granite counters would be level and he also placed the seam in the most logical place. Other companies wanted to place a seam in strange locations that made no sense to me. I was very impressed that Trusted's estimate was equal to or less than other estimates I received. Trusted's estimate did not have many of the up charges other companies do (radius charge, cutout charge, faucet hole charge, etc.). Less than one week after my initial contact with Andy, his stone cutter came out to make a template. The stone cutter met us at the granite warehouse to help pick out our slab. He was very patient and offered his advice when needed. The whole process from intial contact to install took 4 weeks and would have been 3 weeks but I needed to move back the install date. On the install date the team arrived within 30 of our scheduled start time. They were very professional and laid down drop cloths before work began.
Description of Work: Installation of 3 cm granite counter tops. Services also included: removal and haul of previous counter tops, 18 ga. stainless steal sink included with purchase of granite and installed (which I declined because I used my own sink), sealer applied to counter tops, choice of any level 1 color of granite (I chose a level 2 color for a reasonable fee), choice of any standard edge, 2 cutouts (sink and stovetop). Re-installing the plumbing was a $200 option that I declined. .

I had an estimate from a company closer to my home but wanted another to compare it too. I found this company (Trusted Improvement) on the internet and called to start the process. I was asked to send pictures or drawing with dimensions for an estimate. I had the estimate via email the next day. I did some research using the information they provided on their website and decided to move forward. I called and set up an appointment with the installer who came out and measured and answered all my questions about the install. I had concerns of seam placements, overhangs, selecting the stone - typical questions I would guess. Before he left we made an appointment to meet him at the granite yard to select our countertop. He helped us with the selection by pointing out some defects or patterns that we should stay away from. He also showed us how the countertop would layout on the slab to eliminate an area on the slab we didn't want. Before we left the granite yard we set an install date, because of a two week vacation (us not them) we scheduled install three weeks out.
Description of Work: I had Trusted Improvement remove my old counter tops and replace them with granite counter tops. I didn't want to do any of the work myself, I wanted a total turnkey job and that's what I got. My only labor was to remove everything from counter top tops and remove all items under kitchen sink. Install seemed to go as they planned. The first thing they did was layout floor covering for the surrounding work area. The three men knew what their jobs were, they didn't waste any time. In the first hour they had the old counter tops out and the new one in place. The second/third hour was seaming, securing counter top and back splash and sink install. The total install was 3:45 install is complete minus plumming and looks beautiful. Very professional job! UPDATE: six months later and countertop looks as nice as day one.

Trusted Improvement came out just a few days after we called and gave a complete and detailed estimate right then. They met with us at the granite warehouse to help us with product selection. The owner Andy was in constant communication with us letting us know about the progress and plan to complete each step. The installers were very professional, efficient and detailed in completing the work. They went above and beyond to ensure that each detail of the installation was done correctly and to our satisfaction. The counters were installed in one day and more important correctly. The price for the work completed was as quoted. I would recommend Trusted Improvement to others and plan on using them again when we redo our main floor kitchen counters

The job was done fantastically, and we are very impressed with our new countertops. The owner (Andy LaDuke) and his son were very professional, timely, honest, and easy to contact. Compared to other companies, the price was by far the lowest around, they offererd the fastest installation time, and no additional or hidden fees were added after our initial estimation. We had Lowes quote us for same granite at $60 a sq. ft., up to 8 weeks to get the granite in, and all their services were priced in addition to the sq. ft. price. We couldn't have been more pleased and would highly recommend Trusted Improvement for anyone looking to remodel a kitchen or bathroom.

We were looking to get granite counter tops installed in our new kitchen. After looking around Angies List and at various websites I decided to give my business to Trusted Improvement. They advertised a competitive, all inclusive, price for the stone we were looking for. At the time there was one bad review from someone that hadn't had any work done by them but I chocked that up to them being a bitter, sour soul. Turns out I should have payed closer attention. I contacted Andy by email and by phone and sent him both a plan view drawing and a 3-D rendering of the space. Additionally, just to make sure everything was clear, I explained the area that needed counter tops. The total area of counter tops in the kitchen was 45 square feet. The advertised price on TI's website is $39, all inclusive. Simple math says that is$1755. So when my quote came back as $3,080 I was a bit shocked. I figured I must not have been clear enough with what I sent. He included a backspash, which I didn't need, so that accounts for about $300, but the rest is a mystery. So I went back to my drawing and clearly highlighted the area that needed granite, said I didn't need backspash or haul-away (included), showed how I came up with 45 square feet, and asked if there was something I was missing. I also asked if they still were installing at $39 a square foot just to make sure the price didn't change. 2 minutes later I received the following email response "Hire someone else" So not only did I get a quote that was well above his advertised price (which I was actually prepared to pay had he told me how he got to the number) but then he told me to get lost when I wanted him to clarify the quote. So here's the deal folks, granite is a commodity. If you sell a commodity you need to figure out how you are going to differentiate yourself from your competitors in order for customers to have a compelling reason to buy from you. Being a jerk is not it. Andy told me to hire someone else and I did--what it taught me was that there is no reason to hire a middle man for granite counter tops. Go directly to one of the distributors where you will not only be given a fair quote ($1,000 less in my case), but you will also deal with honest, professional people and be able to look at the actual slab on site. Trusted improvement is a bait and switch shop and not at all trustworthy. Save yourself the hassle, take their own advice, and "hire someone else".
Description of Work: No services were performed, after the quote and less than professional behavior we decided to directly by one of the more professional distributors in Redford.

Response from Trusted Improvement
Most of our projects come in at $39.99 per sq. ft. Member's drawing showed an unusually difficult project which accounted for the higher price. We responded to his drawing with an accurate estimate. Like everyone else, he was free to accept or reject our proposal. When anyone sends us a drawing, we send our best price up front. It includes everything so you don't get any ugly surprises. Since Member is not a granite expert, he felt he should get a better price, but didn't quite understand the complexities of the installation. Our quality is so high, and our prices so competitive that we just move on when someone asks us to give them an unreasonable price. Some of these types of customers get very frustrated when they can't find a contractor to take their project at their ridiculous price so they use the Internet to vent their frustration. We invite anyone to email or fax us a drawing of their project. In return, we'll give them a fair and accurate estimate from which then can make an informed decision on who to hire.
Contacted them in order to have someone come out to give me an estimate on some remodeling/rebuild work on my bathroom and flooring in the basement. We never got to the point of scheduling an appointment because they very quickly told me that they did not do this type of work. If I had known this I never would have bothered to call them. Grant it the list of services they offer, as identified on Angie's List, is long and gives the impression that they do this type of work, but apparently not. I am glad they did not attempt to do something they can not do, but perhaps the data identified on the list needs to be revised or have a caveat.
Description of Work: Contacted them to get a quote on remodeling work needed for my bathroom and portion of the basement (drywall, flooring tile/carpet).

Sorry for the inconvenience- depending on staffing, we may add or delete services for different skilled trades. We try to be up front with prospects so we don't waste anyone's valuable time.

We were very satisfied with every aspect of their performance. The countertops are beautiful.
Description of Work: Came the day we called and gave a complete and detailed estimate that night. Met with us twice at the granite place to help us pick out the right product. Performed the work in one day including demo, disconnect and reconnect of gas cook top, disposal and plumbing. They were very knowledgeable and skilled.
Trusted Improvement was very professional, efficient and detailed when completing my kitchen remodel. The owner Andy was in constant communication with me letting me know about the progress and plan to complete each step of the process. They went above and beyond to ensure that each detail of the remodel was done correctly and to what I envisioned for my kitchen. The kitchen was completed quickly and more important correctly. Additionally the price for the work completed was right on. I would recommend Trusted Improvement to others and plan on using them again when I redo my bathroom.
Description of Work: Trusted improvement remodeled my entire kitchen. They tore out old cabinets, soffits, and counter tops. They also installed new cabinets, ran electrical to fit new fixtures and lighting. Additionally, they reworked plumbing for the sink. Finally they installed a beautiful granite counter top and installed a slate backsplash.
