I recently selected Trusted Improvement to install granite countertops and new sinks in my kitchen. They were terrific to work with, carefully explaining all the steps in the process in systematic order. There were no unpleasant surprises throughout. When they had a question they called me and never made assumptions about what I would choose. When they came to install, they were about 30 minutes later than I expected, but no big deal. The workers were respectful of both me and my home, attentive to their work, and professional. And they cleaned up after themselves. I was completely at ease having them working in my home. I couldn?t be more pleased. They are one of the few home construction companies I feel completely comfortable giving a 5-star rating to. I would use them again if I had need for other kitchen or bath jobs.

We did not hear from this person. My cell phone is published on this site yet we received no call on this project. That being said, we are again experiencing extremely high volume at this time and cannot get to everyone that needs a quote.

This was our second time using Trusted Improvement and we are satisfied yet again. Andy met with us to pick out tile at a warehouse and he confirmed with us before placing the tile order. Unfortunately, the tile that we selected ended up being out of stock (the salesperson at the tile warehouse told is it was in stock). Andy was great in communicating all of this to us. He called them back a few days before the tile was due to be in, and was told it was still not going to be in stock for another few weeks. Andy communicated this to us and offered to meet with us again if we wanted to pick out something different, but we were still working on painting our cabinets so we decided to wait. After one more delay (and another offer to meet with us somewhere else to pick out something else), the tile finally came in. Even though Trusted Improvement had a busy schedule, they fit us in which we appreciated since we had waited two months for our tile (again, it was our choice to wait because we loved what we picked). We agreed on a date for the installation and Alex (the tile guy) arrived on time and got started right away. He worked hard and communicated with us about how we wanted certain things (like the pencil liner, cuts around the window, etc.) The job took three days and everything went great. We paid $850 for the labor and then the cost of the tile/grout. We love how it looks and are so glad that we went with Trusted Improvement and that we waited for our specific tile to be in stock. We just got back from a week of camping, and I've never loved my kitchen more!!

They did not even attempt to match the granite. When I pointed it out to the owner, he stated that stone wasn't the same color as the rest of counter. No,really? On their website they go into great lengths about how carefully they match up the granite. If it is getting late in the day and they want to go home they are just going to slap it together. I don't know if the pic does it justice but it is glaring in real life. Backsplash ? I spent $650 just on the tiles. I asked the owner to replace the outer trimming because it has chips in it. He told me that wasn't possible because there will always be small chips in it when they cut it with a saw. Okay, so why did I waste $650 on this stuff if it isn't going to look good any way? He offered to fill in the chips with grout. Still hasn't contacted me about when he is going to that. I still think it should be replaced. I am a single working person and I saved up for two years to get this work done. It doesn't look good. I am a single working person and I saved up for two years to get this work done. Color variations in natural stone are unavoidable. This project was extremely beautiful but the edge of one splash was a shade darker than the adjacent. All pieces were cut from the same lot. The pencil liner in the tile back splash was difficult to cut due to the brittle nature of the stone. We offered to come out and dress it with grout.

The worst part of the whole experience was having to drive to Sterling Heights to pick out the granite, however, the price was worth it, and everyone in the company was a pleasure to deal with. We had to push back the actual installation about a month because in the middle of everything we decided to order a custom kitchen island, and while initially hesitant, Trusted Improvement agreed to hold our granite purchase for us and accommodate our time line, which they didn't have to do. When the bathroom counter tops were done, we noticed that the drawer under the sink no longer went in all the way, as it was now hitting the under counter top sink. The owner of the company expertly cut out some notches in the back of the drawers that looked like it was done by the factory. Very impressive!

This was my first experience using recommendations on Angie's List and I was initially disappointed and discouraged. As a result, I would encourage Angie's List members to read all reviews so that they may realize reactions from all members, both positive and negative. My reaction was obviously negative.
Description of Work: I emailed a detailed description of our countertop needs, including pictures, a diagram, and accurate measurements and the only response I received was "very sorry, we are not interested in your project." Because I was curious, I emailed back asking why (project too complicated, location too far away, too many requested answers to my questions, too busy, anything else?) and received no answer. I also called and left a message with the same questions, but received no response. For a company that receives so many positive recommendations, I would have expected more, and was about to give up on Angie's List, until I found another great company that was completely responsive.

I sent an e-mail to Trusted Improvement's sales address on a Tuesday night at 10:30pm. Andy LaDuke responded that same evening saying he could come out the next day for an estimate. We had also contacted two other companies, neither of which offered to come to our site, but instead asked for drawings and rough measurements. Luckily, Trusted Improvement had another job in my town that day, so it was convenient for them. At any rate, Andy's promptness and attentiveness had already won his company points. When Andy came out for the estimate, he was very detailed and noticed things that I hadn't even considered; possible interactions of the new counters with existing moulding, additional ideas for us to think about, etc. But I never felt like he mentioned things just for additional income for his company. In fact, he wanted to save us some money by recommending things we did not need to do or could do more efficiently. His personality is quite easy going, and we felt like we could trust him with our house, and particularly our kitchen. The estimate process went quickly and Andy answered all our questions inside of an hour and had a written estimate ready for us to ponder over. Once we received the competitor quotes, it turned out that Trusted Improvement had a slightly higher price than the other two. On the plus side, Andy's quote was almost completely turnkey, meaning we didn't have possible obfuscated costs with other contractors (or using our own time to fill in the service gaps). The other quotes required us to coordinate our own demolition and removal, as well as plumbing of the sink. They would sometimes do the service with extra charge, but none of them would touch plumbing. Trusted Improvement's quote was so inclusive, including all plumbing, installing legs to our island extension, demo of old counters... it even included an 18GA stainless sink as part of the cost. It was important to us to have it just be done without mucking about with several contractors. Once we made the decision to use Trusted Improvement, Radu visited the house (on a Saturday, which is very convenient) to perform the template process. I had never coordinated the installation of counters before, so I didn't know what was normal in a templating process until I watched some videos later. It seems that some companies make a full size template out of stiff cardboard and hot glue, then take it back to the shop to actually stick on the granit slab for an exact cutting process. This sometimes requires removing the counters before hand (which means you are without countertops for two weeks or so while they cut the slabs). Radu's visit was almost exactly like the estimate when Andy visited! He simply made a drawing on some graph paper and took some measurements. It almost seemed to me to be a bit anticlimatic, in fact. I was expecting a huge process, but it only took about an hour. Radu has excellent design sense, and came up with some great ideas and insights. He talked us out of introducing a gentle radius in the island extension when the home decor would have clashed with it. I asked Radu if we could pick our slab that same day and so he made room in his schedule for us (the same Saturday). The slab choosing process turned out to be a little stressful for us. My fiancee and I knew the type of granite we wanted (New Venetian Gold) even before the estimate phase, so upon arriving at the warehouse Radu had already set aside three to pick from. It took quite a while to get to those slabs, since they were buried. While they were using the crane to remove other slabs, some were quite pretty and we showed interest. However, we were told those were already claimed by someone else. We soon found that this resulted in a limited set for us to choose from. To Radu's credit, he had picked the best NVG slabs in the entire place, but there were some obvious aesthetic problems that we wanted to avoid on those slabs, and it would have been nice to have a few more to pick from. Radu ensured that he would be able to cut around the things we didn't like and we felt we had no choice but to trust him on that. At the end of the day, the process left us a bit unsettled since this is an expensive endeavor and it wasn't perfect. Installation day came quicker than we expected. When the guys arrived, I was impressed at how fast things were being set up and the counters taken out. I called Andy and he was picking up some supplies to install the sink as well as to mount two bookshelfs that I built to be installed as island extension support. I was again impressed at how accommodating the team was in using my custom bookshelfs in the counter project. They didn't know the design until arriving onsite, but were able to be flexible and do whatever it took to have the job be finished to our satisfaction. The slabs looked great as they were lifted and slid into place. Radu was right about being able to cut around the imperfections of the slabs as promised. They are completely gorgeous! He also took great care in joining the single seam and detailing it out to be as inconspicuous as possible. Radu is a man of few words when he is at work. As far as I'm concerned he can say nothing at all when he performs as well as he does. The other guys with him made up for it with quick witted conversation, even after lifting a 500 pound island granite counter into place. The job took about 4-5 hours to completion, including sink installation, which Andy and his son Alex knocked out together. You can really tell that Andy cares about doing a great job for his customers and we plan to use them for future projects down the road. I sat for hours afterward admiring the difference the granite made to our kitchen. We were actually pretty stressed about installation day, but the guys at Trusted Improvement made it happen gracefully and without a worry in the world. Thanks!

We spoke on the phone and made an appointment for 4/18 at 9 am. I live in Novi and work in Troy, so I told Andy I would go into work late. Unfortunately he never showed up. I called him at 9:20 am and asked that he call by 9:30 or I would need to leave. Andy never returned my call. It's sad that service providers don't understand that everyone's time is valuable. The other unfortunate circumstance is this was my first time using Angie's list.

After doing our research on Angie's List, we received quotes from three companies. Trusted Improvement came in lower than the other two companies and their quote didn't remind us of trying to buy from a used car salesman, so we scheduled an in-home appointment. Andy, the owner, showed up on time (even early!) to show us samples, confirm measurements, and answer our questions. We gave him a 10% deposit before he left. A few days later we received a call from Radu, the stonecutter, and set up an appointment to meet at the warehouse in Shelby Township the following Saturday. He was very knowledgable and gave us great suggestions (since we had never done this before!). My husband and I have opposite work schedules, so we asked Radu if we could pick an installation date a few weeks out since we didn't have to run kids back/forth to school that day. We scheduled it right there in the lobby of the granite warehouse. After that, we had a few questions (that we hadn't thought to ask before) and Andy responded to us very quickly. When it came time to install the counters, the three men who arrived were very friendly and knowledgable. The entire installation took about four hours, and Andy came at the end to look everything over (he also gave us a few tips about other things we plan to do in the kitchen). All in all, we are very impressed with this company and we now have an appointment to meet next week to pick out tile, since they will be installing our backsplash as well!

In some cases when we quote a project from a drawing our calculations differ from the homeowners. We try to quote every job as accurately as possible. Homeowners are free to accept or reject our proposal. We're sorry we couldn't satisfy [member name removed] wishes for better pricing. As in many cases here on A.L., our bad ratings are from customers we never did work for.

The overall experience was great. Andy came out and gave us an in-home quote. His quote was better than anything else we had, and when we decided to go with Trusted Improvement, they had the stone cutter come within a few days to measure. Later that week, we headed to the granite warehouse to pick out our granite. A week and a half later the counters were installed and they look great! Trusted Improvement was extremely helpful all through the process and made it easy to choose our counters and everything that goes with it. We are extremely pleased with the way they look and are glad we went with Trusted Improvement.

I called Trusted Improvement, spoke with Andy he said he could come the next day. He arrived Promptly and scheduled time gave us an estimate, and expained what to expect if we went with his company. He also recommended a carpenter as we wanted a few cabinents made. We contacted Vince the carpenter and we're very pleased with him and his work despite a few minor glitches. The fellow, Radu, measures the surfaces for the granite to be cut came next also arriving on time. A few weeks later we met Radu at the granite store to pick our slabs, Radu was very patient and offered suggestions along the way. There are very many slabs to choose from. Installation day came prompt arrival as usual. Andy came to install our faucets, he ran into a problem wirh the plumbing fitting with the new sink. He was on the job long than expected. NEVER complained once and always had a positive word! Andy stayed to make sure everything worked perfectly. Which it does. GREAT experience from begining to end! Thanks for all your hard work Trusted Improvement.

In late January, I read reviews of Trusted Improvement and reached out to them for a quote for granite countertops in my kitchen and bathroom. I received an call from Andy LaDuke the same day to ask me a few particulars about the job and to ask for a drawing of the space so that he could give me a general estimate for the job. I made the sketch and e-mailed it to him - actually I made the sketch and shared the drawing with two other vendors so that they could also give me a prelim estimate for the job. Andy came back to me quickly with a price for the job and explained that it would include the two sinks, removal and disposal of all of the materials, etc. Pretty much everything that we would need, except the faucet installation. However, he said they offered that service if we needed help with that. After pricing out four vendors, we chose Andy based primarily on price. The reason why his price is so competitive is because he doesn't charge you for a ton of ad-ons like his competitors. For example, his competitors charged extra for the sinks and removal and disposal of the countertops. After deciding on Andy, he came to our house to see the job, show us some samples of granite, and finalize the price. We instantly liked Andy and were glad we'd chosen him. His final price was the same as the estimate he quoted based on my drawings. He asked for a nominal deposit which he said was refundable up until the time we made a granite selection. Two days later, I received a call from Radu, the stonecutter, and he came out to measure the job. I met him at the granite shop a few days later to look at individual slabs. We picked one and talked about how it would be cut so that some of the parts of the granite I didn't want highlighted would not be on the breakfast bar. Our bathroom vanity was small enough to select from pieces they had at their shop, so I made a second appointment to select that stone. Here is my only caution - the piece of granite I selected from their yard was outside and I wanted a light colored vanity top. When it was delivered it looked like a completely different piece of granite (dark brown instead of a light tan) and I don't really like it. But, it is better than what was there and I don't fault them, but you might ask for a piece or something to bring home with you if you are selecting from something outside. We set an install day and they showed up 30 minutes early! I showed the two installers the areas where the granite would go and they got to work laying down tarps to keep my floors clean. The job went very smoothly and install (from my perspective) was a breeze. The kitchen looked great and the two sinks they installed were good looking and good quality. I did hire Andy to do the plumbing work for the two sinks and I'm glad I did. He faced many "challenges" due to to the funky nature of some of the existing pipes, but he kept at it and everything is working like a charm. He was such a pleasure to work with and kept me informed at every step of the process. In the end, the countertops look great and I would highly recommend Andy and his team for anyone else's granite related needs.

Started with measuring the area, and then design of the layout, followed by itemized list of the cabinets to order. Went with a mid-level made-to-order cabinets. There was a promotion at the time from this particular cabinet manufacturer - cherry wood at standard prices. Their cabinets also came standard with soft-close drawers and doors as well. Took about 3-4 weeks to produce and deliver. Very good quality products at excellent price, with excellent service. The only nitpick is on the quality of 1 of the cabinets: one of the drawers had a slight bend on the face (noticed this since the countertop was not on at the time - not very noticeable once the countertop was put on).
Description of Work: Designed layout and ordered kitchen/bar cabinets - full set of upper & lower, about 14 cabinets, plus trim and accessories (i.e. stemware racks).

Andy was professional in his bid, did what he said he'd do and in the timeframe he said he would. Subcontractors were professional. Site was clean and beautiful when he left. I mentioned how much I missed having a gas cooktop and Andy bid the job with putting gas line/new cooktop in versus just reusing electric cooktop. I love my new gas cooktop and am so glad he suggested making this upgrade. Would recommend him highly to anyone. We donated our old countertops to a local home for foster care girls. They willingly made the extra cuts needed in the countertops so that the charity could transport them in their van.

We Ordered Granite counter tops and Kitchen cabinets to match. Andy was very helpful. Andy LaDuke, the owner, took the time to come down to Toledo for the consult/measurements. He brought different ideas and let us pick out which cabinets that we liked. He has fast service two week turn around,. We ordered semi custom cabinets for half the cost of "Big Box Store" cabinets and i feel better quality. They were delivered right to our house which was great!!! Upon installation we noticed a cabinet "not complete" we contacted Andy and he had a new cabinet here in a week. During the final install, one of the drawers quiet close broke and he was very quick to fix it (we had a new one in three days). When it was time to pick out our granite, Radu, the granite installer came to the house to measure and then met us at the granite supply house and also gave us great ideas based on the colors/layout of our kitchen and we had counter tops installed the very next week. They were great when they installed the granite. They were on time, made sure that the job was done right and treated our stuff like it was there own. Andy even came down to make sure that we were completely satisfied with everything, which we were/are. I love my new kitchen!!! This company is great. They made redoing our kitchen a fun and easy thing to do. I would defiantly recommend them and use them again. We recommend them to all our friends and anyone looking to do ANY kitchen remodel.
Description of Work: We ordered Granite counter tops and New semi custom kitchen cabinets. They installed the granite.

Description of Work: Contacted the company and asked to give a quote on kitchen countertops granite.. Andy didn't even come out to my home call or anything instead sent a email saying they were not interested in my project.. What kind of business is that?? Don't even come out to look what I have just say "ah no thanks".. That's very good business there...

Response from Trusted Improvement
This quote request was well out of our service area. When they sent us a drawing it was difficult to understand the scope of the project so we opted out rather than submit a high price.
