We had a horrible experience with Glenda?s and highly recommend not hiring their company to complete your landscaping. The job we hired them for was to simply plant 7 arborvitae trees, which seems to me the simplest request you can ask of a landscape company. Below are just some highlights of our experience. After pushing back the scheduled job by one day, the landscaping team still arrived over 1 hour late and only after calling to say we needed to purchase more supplies for them to complete the job properly when this should have been handled well ahead of time. We caught the landscapers throwing excess grass into our NEIGHBOR?s BACKYARD. When the job was complete, we spent hours (and even took a day off work) to correct the mess that they left, including: The entire area around the landscape was covered in several inches of dirt. The black mesh put down to prevent weeds was hanging outside of the landscaping. The black edging around the landscape was not even buried into the ground. The arborvitaes were planted so close together, we had to replant them entirely to space them out according to the proper recommendations found online. When doing this, we noticed that the trees were buried with the burlap bag completely surrounding the roots ? at least the tops of the bags should have been removed, again per online recommendations. Please know that Glenda?s did offer to come back out and clean up, however, Chris Cagle was so terrible to work with and incredibly rude that (a) we did not trust them to come back to our house and (b) we did not trust them to complete the job correctly. (Note that Chris blamed the messy work on miscommunication that was somehow our fault, despite us telling them exactly what we needed. He never acknowledged that their company should have asked the appropriate questions upfront.) While Glenda?s did agree to pay us back $300 out of the $560 we had paid in installation feeds, they have yet to apologize for our inconvenience and acknowledge that their work was sloppy and unfinished. We cannot express enough how disappointed we were with the entire experience.

Planting was done while I was at work. According to the neighbors the delivery men dropped the tree several times before getting it to the planting location in my back yard. The tree died within 4 months. I contacted the company and made them aware of this, to which they replied we would revisit the issue in spring. No contact was made. In April I went into the business and again reported that the tree they planted had died and I would like it replaced. They told me someone would contact me. No contact was made. In May I returned to the store bringing a friend and photos of the dead tree on her cell phone. The store agreed the tree was definitly dead stating they would replace it and would phone me to schedule an appointment. No contact was made. On this visit I foolishly spent another two or three hundred dollars on flowers. Another strange and very unpleasant thing occured during this visit. After spending close to $300.00 on flowers I happened upon an item that I couldn't live without. Taking it back to a different cashier she inquired if I had the coupons from my previous purchase. I told her I was not made aware of any specials or coupons during my previous transaction (which was completed by the owner, Glenda). Apparently I was supposed to get a discount along with coupons for my next purchase. The cashier applied these discounts and saved me $25.00!! at which time I thanked her profusely. So I went home thinking they were going to take care of my dead tree. No contact was made. I phoned the store multiple times without satisfaction of the claim. I have the dates and whom I spoke with written down. There were over 6 phone calls to this store AFTER I visited their location twice. One phone call was to the owner, Glenda who stated they usually don't give a warrenty on a sale item, to which I responded that I have the receipt in hand and it states there is a 6 month warranty. Glenda stated she would have someone call to schedule an appointment. No contact was made. One employee told me during one of my phone calls that the appointment has to be made through Mary Jo, the scheduler, and she would have her call me when Mary Jo got back from lunch. No contact was made. Multiple phone calls later, Chris scheduled an appointment for 8-28-12 between 11 and 5pm. Chris informed me that they would remove the dead tree and put the new one in its place. I asked if they could put the tree in another location as the current location may be too damp for this tree. Chris informed me that "No, we cannot move the location." and "That is just how we do it." I suspect, but he did not say this, that they do not want to dig another hole. The day of the scheduled tree replacement I left work early and waited, and waited, and waited. No contact was made. The next day (today) I phoned the store and spoke with Mary Jo who states they have me scheduled for Friday of this week. I asked Mary Jo what happened yesterday. Her answer is that they got busy and that they have been behind for months, something comes up and they push people back to a later date. She further informs me that my appointment may get moved again! I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with this company. All spring and summer I have been waiting to get this tree replaced. I do not spend this type of money on one tree lightly. It was to be in memory of my father who passed away some time ago. He loved pines as do I. I bought this tree to light it up for the holidays in his memory. I have spent money at this store for a few years now, they have some really nice things for the garden aside from just plants and trees. And I have had some of the plants die but it was beyond the warranty period so I let it go. But this tree was alot of money, it was for a special memory, and they are treating me very badly. I will not return to this store and will not recommend this store to anyone after this experience.
