Amistee Air Duct Cleaning and Insulation

From scheduling the appointment to the cleaning itself, my experiences with Amistee were top notch. George and Ryker arrived right on time, and were thorough, careful, and professional, patiently explaining what they were doing and going above and beyond in terms of the care they took to make sure the ducts, vents, and returns in my house were clean. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The techs were on time. They covered all the pathways to the main system in the basement. The work to be done was completely explained. They were done in less than 3 hours and did a good job on the cleanup. Before and after pictures were taken of the inside of the ducts. A dramatic difference was observed.

They declined cleaning the air duct of dead animal because the duct work was not metal and could not withstand the suction of their equipment. They cleaned the dryer vent and work was good.

It went awesome! Scheduled on Saturday, here on Wednesday. On time!! They explained what would happen, how it works, etc and disinfected the ducts when finished. They wore shoe covers and used floor covering. They guys were polite and very friendly. Mike and Steve are outstanding to work with. I would recommend Amistee to anyone who needs this service.

Wonderful! My technicians were right on time. They took care to explain every step of the process to me and were very helpful. They even showed me how to change out the filters in my new home.

It went very well, they were very thorough. They kept me in the loop during the process and made suggestions and corrections to improve air quality, as well as overall performance. Thusly, I appreciate their expertise. I was a little hesitant about the price, but in the end I felt that I received value for the money I spent.

My experience with Amistee started out great, but unfortunately ended very badly and left a very bad taste in my mouth. I had a terrible experience with a manager after a mistake the company made and was treated very rudely. In fairness to both parties I would like to give the details. I have also left my original post and evaluation for the company, which was a 5 out of 5, down below so you can see how it all went before my bad experience with Amistee's management. So to explain the bad experience, I have to start after the great service with Amistee cleaning our ductwork, as funny as that may sound. The guys left and everything seemed fine. It was a chilly summer morning, and they had the door open the entire time, so we did not realize the air was not working after they left. The next morning my wife and i noticed it felt pretty warm in our room, but we had a very busy day ahead of us so we got ready and took off with our kids. When we arrived back at the house later on it was very warm. I checked the thermostat and it read 80 degrees, which was 6 degrees above what we had the house set for. I tried to get the air working, but could not. I called Amistee on the phone and left a message since it was after hours. I received a call back a while later. The guy who called was very nice, and tried to be helpful, but I must admit I was a bit annoyed that I had to lay on the ground in my basement to check some things while I was on the phone with him, especially since my knees are bad. We had to go the night without air, and then had to change our plans for the next morning, which was supposed to be the first full day my wife and I had alone all summer and we had a day date planned. We received some calls in the morning and the air conditioning company called and came out around 9:30am. They were here about a half hour and it was a very quick fix. I called Amistee and asked for at least a little compensation for our time and inconvenience, which I hoped to receive in a credit towards the $500 we had spent on the cleaning the day before. I was told by the office girl for the company that I would receive a call from management. In the afternoon I spoke with Heather, a manager for the company. She was very condescending from the start. Questioning when my wife and I had plans, what time the air guy came out, how long it took, etc, making me feel as though our time did not mean much and we were not inconvenienced. She even told me she was 'surprised' we asked for any compensation and that the fact that they came and fixed the error should have been enough. People make 'mistakes' is what she told me, and although it was their error that caused our inconvenience, it has been fixed at their expense and that should be enough. She seemed very 'put off' that I said that I thought we should get a $50 or $100 credit towards our cleaning. When she realized how angry I was getting she tried to offer a gift certificate, but by that point I was so angry at the way she was treating me that I just said 'forget it' and told her I no longer wanted to talk. I have shared this story with quite a few people now, and so far every single one of them seemed shocked that the company did not offer something to us on their own just based on good business practice. Sad they are on Angie's list, since they are obviously not run as well as advertised. Here was my original review: What a great company, with great service provided. 2 different friends had recommended them, and they were on Angie's List. Price was better than competitors, and they did an excellent job. Both Ian and Scott were very friendly & thoroughly explained what they were going to do before they started, as well as what they had done when they had finished. Another gentleman named Steve came out to evaluate our ductwork. I fully expected him to push unneeded goods/services on us, but instead he explained that all tests went great, that we were definitely fine and then gave us some other great info to help keep the airflow efficient in our home. Sad the company blew it after this... SIDE NOTE: We never received the before and after pics they promised.

Robert & Mike were very professional in explaining services performed and provided recommendations that I later implemented. The job was quick and they kept the surfaces clean and tidy.

Went great, second time I have used Amistee.

Everything about the process was PERFECT. There was an issue with the water heater (due to vacuum conditions), and they were very responsive to the problem. (Fortunately I resolved it with a restart.) Just really great employees at the house and back at the office. Set up the appointment via email, and had great options in terms of time of appointment. Very smooth!

Great. It is a 1952 home, and I don't think they were ever cleaned. Before and after pictures were shown and Jeff and Steven were both willing to discuss what process they were taking. Very professional.

I was extremely impressed with Amistee and technicians Rob and Robert. They were courteous, punctual and professional. They offered a thorough explanation of the process, took before / after photos of the work and caused minimal disruption. They did an excellent job. Again, very impressed with this company!

I called Amistee on Monday and spoke with Donna to schedule appointment for next day. Received a phone call on Tuesday morning to provide an update of technicians' arrival. Devin and Stephen arrived at promised time. Both were professional, polite and courteous. I was impressed with their patience at answering my questions. They seemed genuine in their work performance. Although Amistee was a little pricier than others, I chose them due to their next day service. My home is slightly under 2,500 sq. ft. I am anxious to receive the before and after" pictures in my email.

Devin and Scott did an excellent job cleaning the duct and showed up even earlier than expected. The process took a little over 3 hours. They were both very professional and Devin explained what they were going to do. After it was done, Devin showed me where they drilled into the ducts and resealed. I received pics of how clean the ducts were the next day. I'll be calling them again when it's time to do this in 5 years.

Had my garage doors open the whole time and furnace off. House got to 55 degrees because they had no tarp or cardboard to block cold December air from coming into the house. I finally stuck some cardboard in doorway.

Jacob and Mike were very professional and did a great job. They were very considerate of my cat - who was very frightened. I highly recommend them!

We received a call a day ahead of our scheduled visit to confirm our appointment time, date, and square footage. Then we also received a call in the morning as the service crew was en route. We had Barry & Scott as our service providers and they were very professional, friendly, and approachable with any questions or concerns I had. The duct cleaning took approximately 2.5 hours to set up and perform. Both men were very respectful of our home and worked quietly and efficiently, and wore slip on booties the entire time they were in our home. They provided before and after pictures as well. There was no surprise charges and we were charged exactly what we were quoted for. I would definitely recommend this company to others and plan to hire them again for future services.

Outstanding! I can not say enough good about this company. I received 3 quotes for our 5000 sf home with a furnace on the top floor and one in the basement and their price was the lowest due to a special they were running. They were easy to schedule. I received a reminder call and also an extra requested call on ETA due to dogs in the home. The two gentlemen that arrived to do the work were very professional, communicative and thorough. They even made repairs to a crushed duct in our attic for no extra charge. Several people had told me prior to booking this service that they had heard it isn't worth it. Well, I beg to differ. We had a significant amount of built up dry wall dust in our ducts due to several remodel projects in our home over a 10 year period of time. Since the air duct cleaning, the amount of dust collection in our home has been reduced by at least 80% and my winter sinus condition is vastly improved as well. See before and after photos.
