Bauer Soft Water Co

Called every extension and left voicemails and no one returned my calls despite the urgent issue. Terrible customer service. I purchased the unit from them a year ago for $2000. Do not waste your money purchasing from Bauer - they do not stand by their product.

I was given a great sales pitch and lots of promises. I paid my check, shown a picture of what the unit would look like and was promised an install the first of the week. On the day of the install I had to call the company and ask when they were coming out. Matt, the owner, told me my unit was being built and connected me to his secretary, who rescheduled my install for 2 days later. Then she called me the next day to apologize for the installer running late......I told her my install wasn't until the next day. Oh...she had to reschedule to next week. I couldn't do that , so she talked to her director of operations and he would come install it on Saturday. Saturday came....again I had to call to find out when they were coming....she said he was on his way. Then she called to say he had a flat.....I waited three hours more....no call, nothing. I called the office, emailed the company to refund my money...he finally got back to me and asked if I still wanted him to come out. So he came out. I saw the unit and it look nothing like the picture. The whole thing looks cheap like it was put together in a garage. He couldn't finish the install, promised me he would come back next Saturday with the appropriate sized tube, a filter and a new service agreement. He tried to make things right, knowing I was really angry! The next Saturday, My husband made a special trip to go back up to the house...( a two hour drive) and no install! I just got an email there was a death in the family and they forgot about us. I wish I could tear this unit out of my house and go with another company.

A faulty unit was installed and after numerous calls and being told it was probably just me not knowing what I was talking about (more or less) it was discovered that it had faulty internal parts. The computer still has a faulty clock- gains time -- the service is set up on a 3-4hr window and they always show up late. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

They are wonderful people! Matt Bauer is great, you can't beat their service. They are always helpful. I recommend them to anybody.

I did not like Bauer Soft Water Co. I would not use them again. I called them because our hot water was running very weak, the cold water was fine, so we thought it was possibly the water softener, so I called him out and I think he was here in a total of 3 minutes, he walked downstairs, I was upstairs in the kitchen and my husband wasn't home. He walked back upstairs in 5 minutes and he said that your filter was in upside down and he charged me USD 119.15 for that. He did not fix the problem because that was not the problem with the water and we had to get someone else to come out and re-do whatever it was and it had nothing to do with the water softener. I understand that he had to charge me something but to not even really check it. He did say lets check if the water runs now and it ran the same way but I didn't say anything because I didn't know how long it would take for the water to come out well, but I was so disgusted with him that I just wanted him out of his house. I was very angry with him.He could have charged me something less because the filter was upside down but he charged me so much for something that was not even the problem.

The softener worked for a short while, but then the water gradually became harder. At first Bauer did service the softener when I called and came to work on it (ie - cleaned the valves). Numerous times after that they had me change some settings on the softener, which did not soften the water, but did cause salt usage to go up. Then after about a year of putting up with this I had the water checked at a different softener company and they found the water to be only half as soft as it should have been. The T5000 was taking some of the hardness out but not all. Called up Bauer and they said they would come out and change the resin tanks because they had found there was a problem with some of their components in the tanks. I thought great, I will finally have soft water. They did the swap and I did have soft water for two short weeks and then things started to happen; the valves were sticking and water would not stop draining when the regeneration cycle had ended. They serviced it a couple of times, but their ?fix? lasted but a couple of weeks, then water would continue to drain endlessly after regeneration. The water had to be shut off to the softener to stop the flow of water down the drain. Eventually, even this did not stop the flow of water down the drain. The softener was so unreliable I shut it off all together and called Bauer daily for two weeks and left messages and never received a return call. In order to get soft water in my home, I had to remove the T5000 and install a softener from another company (Kinetico brand - which I highly recommend?.It actually works and even uses 60% less salt than Bauer's T5000). I wrote letters and filed a Better Business Bureau report hoping to work something out with Bauer Soft Water, but got nowhere. Bottom line ? DO NOT PURCHASE! Bauer does not stand behind their product. The softener never really worked as advertised and while he initially serviced the unit, he later just walked away. Not sure if he was unable or just unwilling to fix it. At the time of my purchase, there were no Better Business Bureau reports against this company. This has changed greatly in the last three years.

Terrible. When they installed the softener and completed it. I asked for a instruction manual. The guy had to tell me verbally because they did not have one to give me. I went to get a pad and pencil to write it down and sad sorry they had to go and they said they told me to pay right now. I said no because i do not have the instruction. So, they called Mr. Bauer to tell him that I am not paying without the instruction manual so, they called the police because i wouldn't pay. The police came and said he agreed with me and they drove over the instruction manual. A couple of weeks ago a tube blew off and now I have 7000 repair on my floor and Mr. Bauer is not corporating and its going to court about it.
