Description of Work: This company may have good materials and craftsmanship; I don't know because we never made it past the poor communication and behavior of their sales rep. At the time of estimate, the sales rep took 2 phone calls during our time together. He never took any measurements or offered ideas (something the company posts on their web site) and then provided a ballpark range 35-50k or so. We parted with the expectation he would provide a more detailed estimate. My kitchen project was not just updating but a complete remodel. $35k would be viable depending on the specifics. The rep calls a week or so later and asks if I want to move forward. He asks for $350 (stated refundable if I moved forward with project) to put together a design. No issue with the $350, but not based on a ballpark and no specifics. I was expecting an estimate that tells me what is included in the cost; the starting points (cabinet type, counter type, all plumbing work? Paint? Do I provide all fixtures?, Etc.). I’m well aware if I upgrade, want 3 paint colors etc, that will drive costs up, but I expressed it should not be unreasonable for how he arrives at his estimate – what is the scope of work? He would not do a design but agreed to a rough schematic and to list what work they would do. Great, that’s more than I need to make a decision. 2 weeks later, he is paging me at 11:45pm pretending he knows me from over a year ago. For what purpose I have no idea. Then accuses me of “waste others times with your own home. Joke and dinengenuous liar.” He continued to engage in accusatory behavior and name calling for over a day via text messages and phone calls. In full disclosure, I have taken the role of a general contractor for my addition, bathrooms, and some other people’s rentals. Maybe 10 projects or so. I even conveyed this up front which should actually help be more efficient since I understand the process. But my time and health has changed things and I can’t do it nor want to do it. On their ‘services’ tab, the company welcomes builders and do it yourselfers. Guess not. I had written off Seghi as not interested in working my project which would be perfectly acceptable. Why this rep decided to behave this way is befuddling? I have screen shots of the call logs and texts supporting what I have documented. I did speak with Jim Seghi who listened and stated to be at a loss for words. He emailed me later apologizing again indicating he does not take the matter lightly. He added the rep was having personal issues. Use the information in making your own decision. The pictures of their work on their site look great, but what headaches or surprises one might endure I do not know.

We received an estimate for a kitchen remodel (granite, cabinet, back splash). We visited their showroom & then had a salesperson, come out for an estimate. That is where things went wrong. The estimate she gave was about 50% higher than 3 other estimates we received. She gave us a price around 30K, all of the others were around 20K. She indicated prices for things like electric, plumbing that we didn't want to get done, pulling permits, etc. & had 2-3 other things that she couldn't answer. She said to get within our budget, she would need to go to a lower level cabinet. When we questioned her on these items, she said she would talk to "Jim" to see what he thought & be back to us by the end of the week (The estimate was on a Tuesday Night). We didn't hear back for 3 weeks..in fact, she called while we were sitting down to sign the contract with another company. I know this company has a great reputation for their work, so maybe this is just an isolated incident of a new salesperson or poor communication, but, this was the 1st company we decided to eliminate..in fact, we likely would have gotten more estimates before going with them.

There has since been no communication with this company. I recently moved my refrigerator and noticed the floor was coming up. I noticed the same issue in several other areas of the recently remodeled kitchen, along with some lighting issues. I called them to address the problems and they promised someone would come out. I was told they were very busy, but I would be squeezed in to their schedule. I haven’t heard anything back since.
Description of Work: They completed a kitchen remodel in 2006.
