Description of Work: The plaster repair job went just as Brad described he was in and out fast, with a job well done. However, the best part: we can't tell! In other words we can't tell the repair from the original old ornate surface!

Description of Work: Repaired and painted popcorn ceiling in living room, kitchen, and dining room. Repaired some spots that had been damaged through time. Taped, painted and cleaned up in a timely manner. Came back out to touch up a place that had water damage. Brad was pleasant and professional.

Description of Work: Updating our kitchen and couldn't live with the overly textured walls and ceiling anymore. Although the room isn't large, the job was difficult due to the removal of the painted texturing and the close proximity to new cabinets and countertops. Pricing was competitive with other contractors, We went with Brad because of his professionalism he showed during the estimate. The job took two 10-12 hour days to complete and we are very pleased with the results. We would recommend him to anyone looking for quality results. | | |

+ 0 moreI've been living with a wet plaster coved ceiling that has been cracking and flaking for 15 years. Due to the mess and magnitude of fixing the problem correctly, I had been putting it off. I finally had a golden opportunity to fix it and got quotes from several plasterers. Brad was by far the most competitive. Moreover, during the initial meeting, I became very convinced that he really knew what he was doing. It was several months from the estimate until I could execute the renovation. Timing was critical, because my family was extending their vacation in Germany by 2 weeks so that they would not be around. Therefore, starting the job on time was a big concern of mine. Brad confirmed timing by email and then the week before by phone. Per his word, he showed up promptly at 7:30 in the morning and worked until 7:00 in the evening the first day. He started for day 2 at 7:30, but we experienced a brownout due to a storm and he couldn't continue and left to handle some other business. Full power was restored around noon and I texted Brad and he came right back and worked until the evening. He started day 3 at 7:00 per mutual agreement. He thought he would be there for a couple of hours, but was there until around 12:30. The extra time was due to him checking, rechecking, and attempting to achieve absolute perfection...which he did. Brad is professional and positive. I've used several contractors over the years and have never had a better experience. I would recommend him to anybody.

I have used Finishing Touch Restoration in the past for exterior paint work so I obtained several quotes. Finishing Touch was the lowest bid and did an excellent job. They completed all the repair work and painting(two coats) all in one day. They were professional and did not disrupt the office at all. They left no mess and I could not be happier with the job. I have since recommended them to several of my associates.

+ 1 moreSatisfied with the work and workmanship .... not with the way he conducted his business or dishonesty for damaging property and not owning up to it.... whats really disturbing is he knew I got his business info from Angies list so, one would have thought, that I might report on how it all went..... is this behavior supose to be acceptable.?
Description of Work: contacted Fine finishings May 8th for an estimate to have the plaster in my dining room repaired.... there were several problems.... a large section of the plaster on the ceiling was separating from the lathe and also a large section of the back wall had lots of damage from where some trim work and shelf had been removed. The entire ceiling also had a popcorn finish on it which I wanted removed. All of the new plaster was to be primed after the work was finished. I spoke with the owner several days after getting his estimate, May 12 or so and told him I wanted him to do the work.. I was told when we spoke at that time he had several other jobs to do and he would be in contact with me shortly to sc hedule the job.... I was fine with that and understood. On July 31st i contacted the owner by email because it had been 10 weeks since he told me he would contact me to set up the job and I had not heard from him ... I was wondering if he had just forgot ... or really didn't want the work. I was contacted several days later with at very thin applogy for not hearing from him for 10 weeks. I thought that this was all very poor business, got to be honest ... was suprised after meeting him thought he was a "good "business man. After he set up the job he was punctual and hard working... the job went smooth and the work was nicely done. The only other complaint I have is that he borrowed a fan from my living room to help dry plaster or primer in the dinning rooom without asking.... and I guess that would not have been a problem except he damaged it by dropping something on the front grill of it and never said a word.... didn't notice until several weeks after the job was done and was moving the fan one day and took a close look at the fan front. Not really sure if I would use him again or not ... work was done fine...... more the a little concerned on how he conducted the business end of it and I thought that the job was a little expensive.... but was sold on his reputation for conduct and workman ship and that was the reason I accepted his high estimate on the job.

He was very considerate in being careful to cover the carpeting from the entryway to the repair site to keep from tracking dirt and leaves into the home and in dealing with the repair area. He did an excellent job of cleaning up after the repars. Also, see the comments above describing the work performed.
Description of Work: Repaired and painted wet plaster damaged by water backing up from a plugged up hole in an air conditioner installed in our living room/dining room wall. Repaired and painted drywall located in the garage entraceway off the family room damaged by water leaking from our upstairs master bathroom toilet. Also painted the railing and steps leading up into the garage from the same entryway.

+ 0 moreThe repairs went very well. To look at the kitchen/dining room now you would never know that there were major repairs. The transitions between new and old plaster are seamless and smooth. The final finish coat is very smooth and well done. Overall, Brad did an excellent job with the plaster work. My only compliant is that the clean-up could have been a little better - it was decent for the most part given that plaster work is extremely messy.
Description of Work: During a kitchen/dining room renovation I uncovered a lot of damaged plaster. Repairs included filling large holes, skim-coating areas where the original finish coat was damaged, rebuild corners and plaster door jambs, floating out highs spots and low spots, floating wall surfaces into cabinets to create built-in work.

+ 0 moreI originally left a message for a quote. Finishing Touch called me back very quickly and the gentleman said he would be in the area and could stop by...on Easter Sunday no less. Our quote arrived within a few days and we found the price to be quite reasonable. He arrived on-time. He sealed up the area very well so that the dust did not accumulate all over the house. He finished on schedule and on budget. He put up with our excitable dogs just great. The work itself was outstanding. The wall looked better than it did before the water damage occurred. He even over-delivered by painting some trim that was out of scope. I highly recommend Finishing Touch Restoration.
Description of Work: The scope of work was to repair a small wall and ceiling in our entryway that had sustained water damage. He was to repair the plaster wall and ceiling, paint the wall, ceiling and some trim.

+ -1 moreHe seemed very knowledgeable and clearly demonstrated a mastery of plastering based on his years of experience. He was careful to protect the home (taped woodwork off to protect surface, used drop cloths from the room all the way to his truck, took the buckets of murky plaster-water home with him rather than dump them on the site).Brad was very friendly, and provided some advice when I asked about brands and sheens of paint. He knew I took the day off to watch and learn, and explained what he was doing, and the purpose of each step of the way. Watching the skill that he has, I don't think I'd ever try this myself - but hearing his fundamental understanding of the how and why really made me comfortable that he would deliver a quality job that would last. Walls look great, would hire him again. Received a lot of estimates - I think 7 - his was competitively priced; had a few others that were very high in relation to the cluster of the rest. Would advise fellow Angies List members to get multiple estimates, and can attest to the quality of Brad's work.
Description of Work: Brad etched wet plaster cracks; primed, used a 3 layer system to skim coat the existing drywall, and primed again. The room is 10x12; a door and window takes up the majority of 2 of the walls.

There was quite a bit of wall space, including cathedral ceilings, two staircases, and a moderate amount of drywall patching. He was on time each day, and worked a full day until the job was completed. He was careful with our furnishings, and took special attention to mask woodwork and cover furniture. He was pleasant with a good sense of humor. I would definitely call him for any future paint or plastering work in our home.
Description of Work: Brad was hired to patch and plaster our walls where needed, then to paint the living room, stairway to the upstairs, and stairway to the basement. This included ceilings and walls.

+ 2 moreHe was introduced to me through Service Magic. Not only his price was below others, but I was more impressed with his work quality. He was very friendly and explained how he would fix the water damaged ceiling in my dining room and kitchen.He showed up on time for the work and worked 8 hours non-stop. I offered lunch, but he didn't take it. He covered the hallway, room and table completely with plastic and cloth coverings. The ceiling had to be cut and replaced partially due to water damage, and the result was seamless. Not only he painted all ceiling and wall perfectly with perfect straight lines, he cleaned the light fixtures (there were bugs in these) when he cleaned up after painting. Not only that, I had a problem with my Dyson vacuum cleaner and asked his help starting the brush which didn't spin. He kindly called the 1-800 numbers of Dyson and found how to start the spin. As I am a novice at house keeping, I was really grateful that he figured that our for me. I will definitely ask his help again. No need to call anyone else. And of course, I wasn't paid to say all of above. I am honestly impressed and thankful for his prompt and professional work.

He was very friendly and knowledgeable and emailed me my quote the next day. Although his price was on the lower side of another quote I did find a lower quote than him. I would definitely call him again if I need anything else done to see what he can do.

+ 1 moreI put a referral request in with Magic Service over internet and Brad called the same day offering to come out to give a free estimate. We set-up an appointment next day and he arrived to the house on time and prepared. He reviewed the entire house and made recommendations and ideas to fit my budget. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and promise to mail a complete write-up. I received a detailed report the following week with affordable prices. I hired him to start the following week and he offer to me early in morning before work to get key and down payment. (great customer service) I arrived to my home after the 1st day of work, to discover amazing progress. The plaster work was seamless and I could believe the before and after pictures. As the project continued the quality of his work become obvious, but what really stood out was his personality. While I was away at work, he even removed my snow from the walkway. I will hire him again soon to paint my upstairs and bathroom.
