this is the 3rd time that I have relied on IWR over the 23 yrs since we built our home. They have extended the life of the original windows at a fraction of the cost of replacing windows by replacing rotted wood, worn parts and glass.

I was very satisfied with them. They were very honest and said the windows that I had were perfectly fine and not needed at this. I will use them in the future when I need windows. They also made an adjustment on one window that was difficult to open.

Ed arrived right on time. He was very cordial and pleasant. He worked steadily for nearly 4 hours, without a break - then cleaned up all debris. His work looks very professional, and it saved me I don't know how many thousand dollars, which could have gone to a window replacement company. Like the Independent Window Repair website says, why replace when you can repair?

I have a home that was built in 1989 and one of the original windows is damaged. I contacted the window manufacturer and they sent me a replacement window - I just need to hire a company to install this new window. Independent Window Repair does not do basic installations or repairs. They will only install windows, glass, and sashes that they manufacture or sell. I spoke with Sarah and called her twice to confirm that this is true. They really should take the word and quot;Repairand quot; out of their name. It is very misleading and frustrating.

They gave us a little break on the price, since they just did the whole paint job a few years prior, which was very nice. They did a great job with the work. The quality of the paint is wonderful and it still looks like it was just painted. I am very impressed with them.

Independent Window Repair Inc are the best at what they do. They are real craftsman at repairing wood windows. They can actually repair wood windows rather than replacing them. They did a really nice job on 8 or 9 of my windows.

He was on time and early and fixed the thing, it's a decent price, he explained what and a young guy came in and did a real good job and fixed something else. The guy who came was really nice. In fact we are going to use them again because we're gonna have some cocking done and they're going to be coming back as soon as I call them. We've been really tied up, you know graduations, birthdays and everything and hospital visits and so I got to call them she said when I have a guy come by and estimate and the guy would do it. Well, probably I will have them do it anyway whatever it cost. We've had so much trouble like going to the long edge in getting somebody, we had terrible experiences with painters especially, and painters and there was one guy, I know he's a big guy and he's down the street from us.

They were very prompt on getting here for the quote and told me exactly what needed to be done to my windows by walking around to each window with me. when the workers came to do the job they were quiet and got the job done in a very timely manner. One of the workers even noticed some other repair that should be addressed and told me to call the company to have them come look at it. They were a great company and they replaced almost all of my windows in my 2 story home we had recently purchased. Thank you again.

Excellent. Workers were prompt, very professional, and cleaned up after themselves. Love the new clear windows (I had panes in the windows prior and several had leaky seals). Windows lasted a very long time and seals on windows much better than before. Would definitely call this company again.

The first time they came out the measured and had the window made and the size was incorrect. They had to go back and make another window and brought that out. The ended up breaking my sash and it also had an inch and half gap. They said there was something wrong with the frame and they had to rebuild that. They finally said they cannot get the window right and we won't be able to do the job for you. It took about 3-4 weeks to come out and re-measure the window. The last guy that came out said he would be able to replace the window. I found out they actually nailed the window shut because the window wouldn't close. They said they were going to reorder a new window and it never came. They sent me a bill for a whole new window and frame for $1300.00.

Didn't hear from them after 2 weeks so I called and they hadn't received the order yet. Waited another week and finally got a call to schedule the work. That was another 2 weeks later. When the guy got here to do the work, he started on the lower level and installed one of the pieces before telling me they ordered the wrong item and it didn't fit right and had to be reordered. 2 weeks later received the right parts called to schedule work. This time he brought the hardware but not the right ladder, so he rescheduled again. When they finally got here with the right parts and the right equipment, the units were installed in the lower level without issue. The higher foyer window was difficult to get out and the service man broke the wood at the base of the window (so we have cold air streaming in right now). A few weeks later when opening one of the repaired lower level windows the new hardware (which was plastic) slid out of the runway and we will not call them back in to fix it again.

After initial estimate (almost next day), and I called back to approve the work, something slipped through the cracks because they did not call back with a start date. When I called, I go the impression it slipped through the cracks, however, as soon as a date was set, they showed up within a hours of agreed upon time. The workman was very professional and we went over the work that was going to be done. He worked straight through until the work was finished. The materials they used were excellent and I am pretty much satisfied with the work.

The estimate process was impressive-- the guy was thorough and all the technical information was thorough. The actual work was done efficiently and thoroughly. Their replacement windows were not impressive and have no warranties we were told of or provided, and the painters were not professional but after a complaint, they more than adequately addressed our complaints. I am of mixed feelings about this experience.

They were exceptionally professional and accommodating in every way from the office to our home. Workmen were conscientious about respecting our home/carpet, etc. They answered a bunch of questions, even gave a tutorial on how our windows could be taken apart for cleaning. Bonus: They also paint! We plan to ask them back to paint all of our windows in the spring. Excellent experience with I.W.R.

Window frames and sills in 2nd floor bathroom of my 13 year old house were rotted. I checked Angie's List to find a carpenter to do the repair. Only one carpenter would come out. He said he didn't do such work and referred me to a lumber yard. They, in turn, referred me to IWR - who'd recently done similar work for a friend - as the only local source for performing the job. The alternative was to replace the entire unit (which would have cost a lot and probably would not have matched the other windows in the house). A sales rep came out and took measurements. I indicated I had other window work (as noted above) and that was added to the quote. I reviewed the quote. In subsequent days, I called the sales rep with questions he answered for me. I signed and sent in the contract 5 days later. Since IWR seems to be pretty much the only company doing this work, it takes a while to schedule the work - which was not a problem. I just wanted to have it done before the weather turned cold. Maybe 2 weeks later, I was looking through my collection of Angie's List magazines and noticed a coupon from IWR in a prior edition. It was for a 5% discount for Angie's List members. There were no conditions or expiration date listed, so I called the sales rep. Getting no response, I called the office and spoke to a woman there. She told me that the coupon had to have been presented when the quote was written. I told her that condition was not in the ad and asked if there was someone else I could to speak to about it. She said she'd give the owner a message. The owner called while the installer was working on my job. (I was thinking he wouldn't be calling.) I explained the situation. He told me that he'd think it over and would call me back if he decided to honor the coupon. I did not hear back. On the scheduled installation date, the installer (Brett) showed up on time. He was very courteous and worked hard. (I was expecting a couple of installers since most of the job involved reaching the second floor by ladder.) Brett completed all of the installation in maybe 4 hours. So far, so good.

They arrived promptly on schedule. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable of the work that needed to be accomplished. The work was performed professionally and promptly. I am totally pleased with both the quality of work and professionalism of the technician.

Repairman was on time but after a couple of hours and poor workmanship. said he was leaving. My wife told him that the work was unacceptable and that other than putting the plastic in, in place of the wood, made the windows worse. He stated that he would be late to his next appointment if he had to stay. I called an made a complaint to the sales department and they told me that they were trying to gain more customers. Long story short, many calls and complaints got the original estimator back out. He said that it was definitely shoddy workmanship and that he would report it back. We received a call from IWR and they told us that it would be month before they could get someone back to our house to fix the windows. We told them that was unacceptable...they changed it to two weeks, and sent the same serviceman back. He worked on one of the 6 windows and then told us he had done all he could and left. A week later we got another service person and they finished the job in less than two hours. Overall the job was sloppy!!

IWR came and cleaned up all the windows, caulked and replaced rotted wood. The were quick and clean. They came back on a diferent date and painted all the windows.

I feel that their price is fair. Their system on how they manage to set up appointments takes way too long. They come out to diagnose the problem then they send you something in the mail to tell you what is wrong with it. You have to sign it and have to pay half of it without having any work done. It was such a hassle like when I had a broken lever on my window, it took almost six weeks for it to get fixed.

They are a very good company. When the guy first did his estimates, he gave us a DVD that explained what their product was made of, what to expect when they got here and they also demonstrated a door and window repair; we played it and decided to proceed with the work. They do most of the work in our neighborhood. They saved me a lot of money and the prices are very reasonable. The windows look brand new and I am going to contact them in the future.

My Mom recommended Independent Window after they had repaired two windows at her home, and she was very pleased. When it came time for my house to be painted this summer, she referred me to them because their card said that they did painting as well. Since this was a fairly big job, I took 3 estimates. Independent Window came in at around the same price as the others, but I chose them because the gentleman who came out to do the estimate was very professional. He knew his business and answered all of my questions. Unlike the other painters, he didn't act irritated at my questions, and he didn't try to sell me services that I didn't need. The two painters that came out (Mike and Dan) did an excellent job. It was a very sunny and very hot day (probably near 100 degrees). They were professional, worked quickly, and hardly took any breaks despite the excessive heat. There was a small problem about whether the shutters were included in the price, but Mike quickly got a supervisor on the phone, and the whole thing was handled in a friendly manner. I would definitely hire Independent Window again for my exterior painting. My only complaint is that it is really difficult to get someone on the phone. You really need to have patience with the phone system. When I called to pay my deposit and schedule the work, I had to leave 2-3 messages with the paint department before someone called me back. It was the same drill when I called a week before my appointment to confirm the date. After the job was done, I noticed that the painters missed one piece of trim work. It took 3 messages before someone called me back to say that a supervisor would call me. It then took two more calls before I actually received a date that the supervisor would come out to look at the problem. It is great to be busy in this economy, but they need more people manning the phones. But, in the end it is worth it! Put on your patience cap with the telephone calls, but at the end of the day, your paint job will look great! Overall, I am very pleased with this company.

This job was attempted by several other companies in the past and we always return to the same issue. Since IWR has done the job, we haven't had any problems. They do the job right. My neighbors also use them. If we had known about IWR in the first place, we would've saved over a hundred dollars.

They were very professional and they knew what they were doing. They gave a quote that I compared to many others and they had a very good price.

Everything was great. I am happy with the work, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
