Greg McClure Home Inspections

Home inspection

About us

I am the owner and sole inspector. A typical home inspection averages four hours. Reports are delivered same day in PDF format that include an average of 40 pictures. I am fully insured and certified through InterNACHI as well as the American Home Inspectors Training Institute. I perform inspections 7 days per week and accept payment in cash or check. Next day inspections are possible. My inspections are not time bound and I take the time to review the report on site with client. I also take the time to explain how systems operate within the home and will answer any questions you may have. This is very helpful for the first time home buyer.

Liar and a cheat, or just willfully ignorant. Greg missed so many issues that I don't even know if the inspection was beneficial to us in any way. Electrical, HVAC, pest issues, improper roof install. The list goes on. Greg did not.

Greg McClure missed several key points that have ended up costing me plenty of money and have needed to be changed. One example being the water main in the home. The knob turns, but doesn't actually turn off the water in the house. We found similar examples in the electrical areas of the home as well. Super nice man, wish I could love his work. But I don't and I'd look elsewhere.

I am in the process of purchasing a new home. Most inspectors wanted to charge me $400.00 to inspect my 1,218 sq ft home, Greg only charged me $275.00. At first I was spectacle as to why his price was so cheap and if I was going to actually be satisfied with the service. I called Greg at 6pm on a Tuesday, and had to leave a voicemail. Within 10 seconds of me leaving that voicemail Greg texted me saying "Sorry I'm on the job, I will call you back within the hour". When he got to the inspection site/house he was very professional. He was very informative while conducting the inspection, he constantly was asking to have me look at the "problems". After he completed the inspection he set up his tablet and reviewed the entire inspection with my boyfriend and I. Greg even documented a screen that was ripped. He caught the little things that the naked eye would not catch. I would recommend Greg over any inspector!!

Absolutely horrible! The only issues reported were a cracked window and a fuse that needed to be re-wired. When we finally got to the house with our painter he noted water damage in both 2nd floor bathrooms ( extremely obvious ). Upon further investigation, there was black mold located In One bathroom and possibly in the other. The front door needed to be replaced as well as the door going into the garage, both were left off of the report. There was major water damage in the cabinet under the sink as well as damage to the regular cabinetry. When I called Greg McClure to discuss the items that were left off the report he wanted to see them for himself. We met the next day at the house. After showing him these OBVIOUS major issues, his only response was "I'm sorry, I didn't see them". I'm not sure how he didn't see them, my wife and our painter were able to see all the damage. The only redeeming outcome of our meeting was that my payment for this "inspection" was that he refunded our fee. I would not recommend him to anyone. He was not trained in any home building trade as stated on his own web page. He was a firefighter that did his own home improvements. Then probably completed the few hours of training to be called a home inspector. Save yourself the hassle and get a trade trained seasoned veteran of home building, not a retired firefighter that does home inspections as a hobby!
Description of Work: He inspected a home that we were trying to purchase. We relied on him as we were not in the same state as the home we were trying to purchase. He was supposed to let us know of any major issues with this house.
