Description of Work: I thought the igniter needed to be replaced. They determined that it was a faulty solenoid coil and replaced two of them because it was cheaper than testing both and replacing one. I used to do industrial trouble shooting. Five minutes labor to replace two coils was certainly cheaper than spending half an hour removing both, testing both, replacing a used, but good one and installing only one new coil. My wife has been happily using a dryer that has been out of service for months because my ego was telling me that I ought to be able to repair it...

WE HAD DRYER GO OUT OVER THE WEEKEND SO WE CALLED AROUND TO SEE WHO COULD NOT ONLY FIX ON MONDAY BUT AFTER 3PM BECAUSE OF BEING A THIRD SHIFT WORKER. THEY RESPONDED, SCHEDULED AND CORRECTED OUR ISSUE THAT DAY WITH THE PROMISED TIME AND A PHONE CALL ON THEIR WAY. GOOD SERVICE AND FAIR CHARGE

I think at this point they have replaced every appliance in the house. I like that they are local, and they do repairs. You can call them and they're here. The people are very responsible. Most of the techs are mature adults that listen and believe what you have to say. They really know what they're doing.

I never heard back from Seaway after being hung up on 6.30.11 I now have to file a home owners insurance claim and pay the deductible to have the repair done since Seaway didn't like the amount from the company they sent out for an estimate and no longer wishes to pay for the repair even though they stated they were responsible in the first place and said they would take care of it.
Description of Work: Purchased appliances from Seaway Appliances on June 2, 2011. The installed the appliances on June 3, 2011. When they installed the dishwasher, the installers did not hook up the hose correctly to the shut off valve and it created a slow dripping leak that was absorbed by the wood in the kitchen floor and caused the floor to buckle and the cupboard where the valve is to rot. The leak only took place when the dishwasher ran, which has only been 4 times since June 3rd. After noticing the leak on June 20th, I called Seaway and spoke with Scott and told him that the dishwasher hose is leaking and my kitchen floor is starting to buckle. He sent out a repair man on June 21st to take a look at it. Between the time I called Seaway and having the repair man coming out to the house, I had placed paper towel under the valve to absorb the water dripping. The repair man took the paper towel out and said yes, you have a leak. He then got tools and a light and got under the sink and found where it was leaking between the shut off valve and the hose. He fixed it. He then checked to make sure it was not leaking anywhere else, like under the dishwasher and what not. He ran the dishwasher several times to make sure it was no longer leaking and said that it's fixed. I asked him about it leaking and the repair man said “sometimes the guys who install the appliances are in such a rush and they don't take the time to make sure everything is hooked up right, it happens.” Which is what happened here, the installers never made sure they dishwasher was hooked up correctly or that the water was running through it with no problems. After telling my mother in law about the situation, she called the Manager of Seaway Appliances because they have been doing business with them for many years. She told him the situation and asked if they would repair the floor. Scott then called my husband, Jeff, and said they would get some estimates on what the repair would cost them and that they didn't want to replace the whole kitchen floor but would replace the area that was damaged by the dishwasher leaking. The company, 1-800-Water Damage was the first company to come out and look at the floor on June 29th. The gentleman took a look at it and said the entire subfloor is damaged and you can see where the water as dripping from the dishwasher. The floor can't just be repaired, it needs to be replaced because of all the water damaged. They took pictures and said they would get in contact with Seaway appliances and give them the estimate. I spoke with Scott that evening and he said again that they would take care of the damaged area and file a claim under their insurance. On June 30, 2011, 1-800-Water Damage called and spoke with Scott at Seaway Appliance and gave him the estimate. Scott then called and said he wanted me to talk to the repair man that came out because he is saying that he didn't fix anything and that our plumbing needed to be fixed and wasn't their issue. I was on speaker phone with Scott from Seaway and the repair man that fixed the leak on June 21st at 6pm. The repair man denied that he fixed the leak and said there was no leak. Then Scott said that after getting the estimate from 1-800-Water Damage, Seaway Appliance is no longer going to fix the damaged caused by the dishwasher. Even though the hose was sold with the dishwasher and was incorrectly installed by their employees and cause mold, water damage, and my kitchen floor is ruined. I was hung up on by the employees at Seaway and have not heard anything back from them or can get them to answer their phones.

We were just gathering prices and getting a feel for the whole washer and dryer purchase. Once again, we were helped by a very nice salesperson who listened to what we wanted and steered us towards some washer and dryers that would've fit what we needed. Unfortunately, the price tended to be a bit too high so we had to consider other stores.
Description of Work: We went to Seaway Appliance Center while we were looking to purchase a washer and dryer set. We were pricing out these appliances and were helped out.

I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY SEEMED TO BE VERY INTELLIGENT. IT DIDN'T TAKE THEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY LOOKED VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE ALSO VERY POLITE.
