Better than expected. Hire them.

Did a thorough job, answered all my questions. Just a very nice guy.

UPDATE: We moved in and began to clean the home to realize that the kitchen sink had a huge leak. The inspector never checked to see if the plumbing leaked. Also there are major structural problems that were never noticed. INITIAL REVIEW: Inspector placed the radon equipment prior to our scheduled inspection, which was nice. This allowed results to be available at the conclusion of the inspection. I found that the inspection was not as thorough as I would like, for example, not every window was opened and checked, I brought to the attention of the inspector issues that he had missed, and the resulting report left out some items/defects I believe to be truly important. This is my second home inspection I have had on a potential purchase, the first by House Masters and I would not hire them again. They were polite, personable and easy to deal with, but did not inspire confidence in their ability to provide an accurate comprehensive appraisal of the property.

Joel was very professional. Arrived early to set up. Made us very aware of all issues with the house. Took lots of photos to help illustrate issues. Even though our inspection ran very late, Joel took the time to finish the write up and got it to us the very same day. Very satisfied with the experience and will recommend them in the future.

Fantastic! Very detailed report that allowed us to negotiate a substantial amount of money down on the property! Totally worth the investment!

Met the inspector Darwl at the property. He was early and I got there shortly after he did. He introduced himself and got right to work. He was instructive and explained his procedure and findings in each and every area of the inspection. He literally gave us his findings the inspection pretty much on the spot when he concluded his inspection. Everything except the Radon results, he wouldn't have those for a couple days. He was very professional and treated us with a lot of respect. They also gave us a written report that we in turn went over with the sellers. HouseMasters did a fine job for us.

My Realtor recommended Housemaster for their thoroughness. Inspector (Daryl B.) got there early (before me) and had already been on the roof and had made several notes. He gave me his card and some paperwork and immediately started showing me concerns he had with the house. When a family friend who is a contractor came to attend part of the inspection, he welcomed the additional opinions and comments. Very friendly, professional, knowledgeable. Didn't gloss over any issues or offer any particular opinion about the house, just showed me the facts. When my mother and later my Realtor showed up for part of the inspection, he was as polite, friendly, and informative to the crowd of people now watching his inspection. There were a few times he was discussing an issue and I wasn't sure if it was a side-comment or if it would go into his final report, and he said, "I better write that down before I forget." That was a little disconcerting. By 8 p.m. that evening I received an email with login information to my report... it was a 45 page detailed report of the inspection which included photographs of all areas of concern. Impressive.They found WAY more areas of concern than I had anticipated and the seller agreed to drop the price by $6000. I decided to walk away in the end. And when I found another house, I called HouseMaster again and they did my inspection for that house too... same inspector even. They even agreed to give me a "repeat customer" discount! I was really please with both experiences and I feel good about closing on a house that has been inspected by this company.
