We have in floor radiant heat with three separate zones. We noticed one section with two bedrooms and a bathroom was not working. My husband called in the morning and someone was here within two hours, fixed the problem, and heat restored by mid-day. They are prompt, friendly and know their stuff!

This is a vacation home and the furnace and water heater had been off for a couple months. The pilot light on the furnace wouldn't light and the burner wouldn't light on the water heater. Trudell's diagnosed the furnace to a clogged (rusted) pilot light orifice and removed the components of the furnace to clean it. In the process they replaced the thermocouple as a preventative measure. That fixed the furnace and it was relatively quick. They diagnosed the water heater to be a failing pressure switch in the power vent. This was not detecting that the vent fan was working so it prevented the gas from being switched on, so the burner wouldn't heat water. On a second visit he brought a generic pressure switch since the original is no longer available (18ish year old water heater). He adjusted this and claimed it worked and recommended that I watch it to be sure that things turn on and off correctly. It turned out that this didn't work and the burner would turn off in under 2 minutes. When I called them on the phone they said that they could either sell me a new power vent for ~$500 or a new water heater for ~$1100. We are planning on renovating the house over the next couple years so now, isn't the ideal time to do either, since I expect that we will relocate the water heater to a wall where a power vent isn't needed and replace it then. The real problem was that the orifice between the fan and the pressure switch was clogged (rust again?). I detected this by attaching a hose to it and trying to blow through it with no luck. I cleaned it with a wire then I could blow through it. The guy from Trudell's attempted to clear the orifice, but didn't test it. With that cleared, I found that the generic pressure switch was connected backwards (by finding the documentation for it on the internet) and was able to connect it correctly and adjust it and all works fine now. The pressure switch was replaced, but the original one was still functional, but that was only determined after finding the real problem. Overall I was happy with the service, but I wish that the real problem with the water heater had been detected originally. That would have avoided a second visit and replacement part (pressure switch), which was a third of the total cost.
Description of Work: They cleaned out the furnace including the pilot light orifice (which was the original problem) and replaced the thermocouple (as a preventative measure). They also diagnosed a problem with the water heater to the pressure switch on the power vent.

We have called upon Trudell Plumbing on several occasions over the years. They have never failed to be prompt, punctual, professional and friendly. They clearly know what they are doing, and are very willing to explain to us not only what needs to happen, but also what they've done when complete. Their charges for service have always been reasonable, especially considering that we live many miles out of town.
Description of Work: Replaced all of our old plumbing with new - at our request, they put in new materials that "give" instead of bursting when frozen. Did an excellent job. They also put in a mixing valve, which solved the problem of "sweating" on the toilet -- and ended our more serious problem with mold! They also advised us to consider using a different kind of toilet to keep the septic line from clogging up. Although we were able to replace the toilet ourselves, their advice was right on target.

It went very well. No problems at all other than parts were not readily available - had to be ordered. Home was not occupied at time (summer residence only), so parts availability not an issue. Very happy with workmanship.
Description of Work: Reinstalled water meter, installed shut-off valve, inspected all faucets, toilets, sewer lines for leakage (found none), replaced fittings at hot water heater that were leaking, replaced float valve. Was present when city turned on water at curb.

Customer not home at the time - summer residence. Neighbor let repairman inside at customer's request. Repairman removed all self-generated trash, nothing left to me to cleanup. I was very happy with the service. Note: Michigan requires licensure. Validate contractor's license using Michigan Contractor License Verification web page. Description of Work: Serviced gas operated, furnace, replaced parts (parts under warranty), provided numerous service calls in order to complete the job.

Dave was very responsive and arrived at agreed time. Note that I had called him Monday that week and he was very accommodating to our schedule. He evaluated the furnace and attempted to light the pilot first. He checked the propane lines to ensure the furnace was getting gas, which it was. He disassembled the furnace and found the pilot tube was clogged. Fixed the issue, checked the function of the furnace, and all is well. Trudell did an excellent job and we will definitely use him in the future. I would definitely recommend him to others as well. Thanks Trudell!!

They came out and did an estimate and and offered suggestions of what would work and what would be over-kill. At the time we were having central heating installed. We explained that we would be putting on an addition the next year so they considered that so we would not need to be redoing work later. They took away the old heater and wood burning stove that we did not want. They also relocated the furnace to the side in the basement so that we gained usable room downstairs. They also offered suggestions for other contractors to work with and suggestions on the electrical work. Now they also regularly close the place up for the winter and open it up when we get up to use it in the winter. I am hard pressed to come up with any negatives about our experience with them. I always feel well taken care of with Trudell. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We have used Trudell a couple of times. They installed a new furnace and then did the duct work and hook up for an addition. They have also done the winterizing on the cabin at the end of the season. They are efficient, professional, complete and do quality work and they are nice folks. They know what they are doing and they do not try to sell something you do not need. I highly recommend them.
