From start to finish, everything about the job went smoothly. The concrete driveway had begun to crack in multiple places and the front section of the garage floor not only developed a wide crack from one side of the garage to the other, but there also was a difference in elevation between the two sides. Romana gave me a detailed quote and, on the day of the scheduled day for the work, showed up with a crew of about 7 men. They worked together very efficiently, broke up and removed all of the old concrete, poured new gravel for the base and poured and finished all of the new concrete in one afternoon. They returned the next day to make expansion cuts. I am happy with the job.

As I previously described Romana Construction did everything they promised to do and they did it in a very professional way. I highly recommend the company.

I never heard back from them. I understand that maybe they are looking for bigger jobs, but I don't understand why I cannot get a callback in a week's time to say one way or the other whether or not they will take the work.
Response from Romana Construction
"This homeowner called during the week where it was almost 100 degrees everyday. We were swamped that week. We were fighting the heat servicing our customers whose jobs were in progress. I called him the following Monday and apologize d that I missed his call and explained the circumstance. He said he understood. And he would change his review. I didnt know he had written a review. I was recently able to look at his review and see he hasn't changed his review so I am responding."

Came by and quoted the work promptly. Walked through the process and timing. Said it would be done in about 3-4 weeks. Had to follow up a couple of times, but the work was done. They were good at communication to make sure things turned out as I wanted. Overall, good experience and would use again.

I was able to be fitted in earlier than expected and I had not cleared off my furniture from the slab. Mikes team took care of this and proceeded to complete the job in 1 1/2 days. I have received many compliments on the work and have already passed their business cards out. Very positive experience!

Tuesday they removed the old concrete and my back deck and created molds for the cement. Wednesday the city inspector came.
Thursday it rained. Friday they poured the cement and Saturday they cut lines in the cement.
The project went well, they moved my sprinklers out of the way. Price, communication, and professionalism made this a great experience.

Mike from Romana returned my phone message, which I left on a Saturday, within hours. A visit to estimate was quickly scheduled to finalize a quote which we had originally gotten the year before. I was very comfortable with Mike's expertise in quoting this job. I told him that timing was important, since I wanted the job done well in advance of our daughter's graduation party. Romana put us on their schedule exactly as I requested and followed up with a courtesy call the Saturday before work started. The crew arrived timely and worked very efficiently, being very respectful of our property. Joe kept me informed during the course of the job and showed me their progress. Attention was paid to the smallest details at every step of the way, with Joe going beyond what I expected in cutting out an additional small part of a cracked old slab, resulting in a beautiful, freshly- poured job. Again, we could not be more pleased with the professionalism of this company, the politeness of them and their crew, and their fulfilling the job beyond our expectations. We highly recommend them to anyone for concrete work and I am sure their work ethic and professionalism extend to whatever job they are doing. We intend to use them in the future. Thanks again!

The job went beautifully. Michael, one of the owners explained everything, mapped out what I wanted and gave me a price, which I accepted right away. I wanted it installed as soon as possible, so he scheduled me the next week. He called and kept me informed about the schedule several times. Joe, Michaels brother and his crew removed the old concrete, removed the grass, graded the area and installed the forms in one afternoon. The next day Joe and his crew poured the colored concrete and stamped the pattern we chose, in three pours. The next morning, they cut the releif cuts, power washed it, then sealed it. We enjoyed a drink on it that evening. It is beautiful and it drains well, leaving no puddles after it rains.
Everyone, the owners as well as the workers was very nice, worked hard, and knew what they were doing. Most of the workers have worked for Romana Construction for many years, two of whom are brothers who have both been with Romana for around 28 years. I couldn't be pleased more with what they have done.

Great service from a family owned and staffed company. My contact call was followed up with a visit by Mike for an estimate. I appreciated the list of completed work I could take a look at in my area as well as the information regarding the type of concrete and a walk thru of how the job would be completed. The estimate was detailed and professional. Once the start date was set, a week earlier than I expected I was kept informed of the times the crew would be here. Joe arrived with the crew, introduced himself and worked on the job as well. He was on the site all day. He answered all my questions, and even made some changes at no added cost. Every day the area was cleaned up, and the next day start times were right on. I liked that the crew and supervisors had different colored t shirts. Pleasant, professional, hardworking crew. The driveway perfect.

Excellent! We couldn't be happier. We contacted Romana Construction in March 2013 to get "on the schedule" for new concrete when the weather allowed. The initial call (and all other calls) was returned promptly and an estimate was completed within a few days. I was pleased they provided an estimate immediately after looking at the work to be done; we did not have to wait a few days the way other companies give estimates. Once we hired Romana for the job, only a $50 deposit/retainer was required. Joe stated the remainder was not due until the work was completed to our satisfaction. Incredible, since it was almost a $5000 job! We were updated as to if the weather was cooperating to begin as scheduled. When the job was started, Joe arrived and was on-site at all times. The crew were not people contracted to do the job, but actual employees of Romana. They got right to work and I was amazed by how efficient they were. They were respectful of my yard, my neighbor's lawn, and the area in general. The work was completed on time and looks beautiful. One neighbor even requested an estimate while Romana was here and we have received many compliments since. I would definitely recommend Romana and will use them in the future.

I just want to say my experience with this company was excellent. Mike and Joe and the rest of the guys were very professional and courteous. They did a really great job and Frank who cut the cement even put my step back in my garage and cemented it in.

After interviewing 3 other contractors and talking with a friend who used Romana, we decided to go with them. My husband and I were very impressed with Mike and his presentation. He was always very professional and organized. He presented us with different options to help us decide what would fit best with our budget and our family. Everyone who works for Romana is very professional. The day they came to do the demolition of our sunroom I was amazed how quick it was. Mike's brother, Joe, and his team worked like a well oiled machine and tore down the room and balcony in no time. Not only did they take great care to make sure my yard was free of debris (which was very important because we have 3 children), but they also took great care to make sure our neighbor's yards were clear as well.
With 3 kids and working, our home is very busy. Mike did a great job of always keeping us informed of what was next to be done. He would give us an overall description of what the next few weeks would entail. Then he would specifically break it down like, "This week you guys need to just decide on these 3 things..." It was great, and helped me from feeling overwhelmed. Mike was always very accessible too, he was very prompt with returning calls and texts. I think their pricing was also reasonable. There were no "surprises". If there were adjustments to be made because of things we decided to change (like I added a window at the last minute), I felt the price was very fair, where if he was a dishonest man, he could have really taken advantage of the situation. The other thing I appreciated was you did not give the final payment until the project was complete. I felt very comfortable with Romana. They are a true "Family Business". Most people that work for them have done so for several years. Even with the subcontractors it is evident there is a great amount of mutual respect for each other. I am hoping to remodel the kitchen in the next few years. I know when it's time, we'll be calling Mike.

I had been contemplating remodeling my kitchen for several years and finally decided it was time. After getting quotes from several contractors, I selected Romana as they were reasonably priced and came highly recommended by a friend who had an addition put on by Romana.
Words can't even express how happy I am with the job Mike and his crew did. I went from a very old kitchen with rolled linoleum flooring, green formica countertops and outdated appliances to an absolutely gorgeous state of the art kitchen that is beyond what I dreamed could be done with the space. During the time I was having this work done, I was traveling quite a bit and was rarely at my home. Mike made the entire process so easy for my by working with my schedule, bringing materials to my home and reminding me of decisions I needed to make. He kept me informed throughout the process of what was happening and what was being planned. I was very comfortable with Mike and any of his crew being in my house when I wasn't home. When I am ready to start my next project, I'm definitely calling Romana again. Thank you Mike!!

This cost me more than I was hoping to spend, but it was worth it. The experience from start to finish was very professional. Mike from Romano answered every question I had, and all work was done as expected. No surprises, no payment until the work was complete, and no hassles. What more can you ask for!

This was a "surprise gift" to my mom-in-law. The estimate, removal and new cement had to be done in a very short time frame while she was out of town. Mike at Romana Construction was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. We arranged to meet the day after she left town. He had answers to all of my questions and gave good advice. Since the weather forecast was in the 60's for the next two days, they were able to come the next day and do the work.
This was not easy as the backyard is only accessible by a narrow, gated chain link fence. Everything was done by hand except for the jack hammer (to remove the old, 8-12" thick concrete) and a small concrete carrier (see photo). Everyone was polite and professional. Joe, the site leader, addressed all of my questions and concerns. The patios and sidewalk look great! My mom-in-law and I couldn't be happier with their work.
I marked N/A on the price portion of this review. I did not get a second opinion. I thought $4000+ was a little high, but then they were willing to do this job on short notice and did an excellent job. Mike and Joe were so polite and helpful, I wish they were my brothers!

I am very pleased with the work that they did, but I had hoped that they could come sooner. I contacted them in October, but they just completed the work two weeks ago. They also had one glitch where they messed up the time they were supposed to be here.

I am 100% satisfied with Romana Construction. This experience could not have gone better. From the initial phone call, through the site survey, estimate and delivery of service, the Romana Construction team was professional, timely and thorough. My inquiry was returned promptly, the estimate was reasonably priced, easy to understand and comprehensive. Once we agreed upon the service, they took a small down payment ($50) and asked for the balance upon project completion and customer satisfaction. The service took place in two stages; in the first visit they broke out all existing concrete and hauled away all debris. They also created the molds for the new concrete. Later that week, they poured the concrete. The final result was FANTASTIC. They set clear expectations and exceeded those expectations through flawless execution. I own several properties and will certainly use Romana Construction for ALL of my concrete needs. They are a 10!

think Romana is a good company. It really care about its business and customers. I felt good after initial contact with Mike, senior then his son Mike, Junior. Actural field manager is Mike' second son. I am impressed with all Mike's family members, their attitude to the customers, their work for the quality. I would like to give them a highest ranking for the project.

Our company rep was Mike. He was very personable and knowledgeable, but very busy and late for appointments. He would always call and say he was running late, though. Since I have a brother who owns a business, I'm understanding about that. He showed us lots of pictures of jobs the company had done (they were really disorganized, however), but since I couldn't find any that I personally liked, I searched online. Mike carefully measured and noted the size of the new patio, and we agreed to extend it to a larger size than the existing deck.
We signed a contract with the company, knowing that we would have about a 4-week wait, and that wasn't a problem for us. In the meantime, I was looking online, trying to decide what I wanted the patio to look like. Mostly I saw pictures of what I didn't like. Mike said we should go look at samples of the products at Guidobono Concrete, 28 miles away. My husband took time off work to go there with me. It was almost 100 degrees, and we were outside, surrounded by concrete! We found our two favorite samples, took pictures of them, noted their numbers, and talked to an employee about colors.
When Mike returned before the service date to measure again, and to firm up what exactly we wanted, we were at a stalemate. We had told him over the phone the samples at Guidobono that we liked best. When he arrived, he showed us pictures of the same samples, but the colors looked different than what we had seen. He kept suggesting things I hated (pink and terracotta). I didn't want something to match the reddish bricks of our house (which has a mix of mostly red, red washed with cream, and charcoal bricks), I wanted something neutral and more subtle. Finally, he handed me a brochure from a different manufacturer (Scofield Systems) than he showed us before. He said that he could do anything pictured on the brochure. He also suggested that we go look at a couple of jobs they had done. That was a big help. The owners of the houses were very friendly and helpful, and one was a Romana employee. We saw the pattern that we liked at one of the houses.
I looked at the Scofield products brochure and saw mostly what I considered to be garish colors, but the very last picture appealed to me. It was the pattern we liked, but a little light. I looked online to see if there was a local distributer of Scofield Products, and there was one close to where I work, Livonia Decorative. So, on a break I went over and talked to some very nice folks, and was shown some color samples, was told that there was a shade darker for the border, and they gave me the color names and numbers.
So, I was able to give Mike the exact color names and numbers and the pattern that I wanted. Hurray!
The actual work that the company performed was extremely professionally done. The crews were polite, large and efficient. The deck was taken down, the ground was prepared, and the patio framing boards installed in about 2 hours, with a minimum of fuss. The workers were courteous and did good work. But they arrived without the careful measurements that Mike had taken and noted! The supervisor asked my husband how big the patio should be, and he wasn't sure. We wound up with a smaller area than we had agreed on with Mike, later regretted that decision, and had to pay extra to have the framing boards redone. All that would have been avoided if they had shown up with the measurements. Twelve days later, the patio was poured and stamped. I was at work, so I missed it. My husband said to his inexperienced eyes, it looked like it was all very professionally done.
We are very happy with the results. I do recommend Romana Construction for a stamped concrete patio, because the job was professionally done, and the resulting patio is beautiful. I would like to suggest to them that they need to hire someone to organize their photos into an easy to view format, and to include more brochures from companies whose products they can use. Even better would be to have a designer to work with customers to pick colors and patterns that would work with their house and their personal preferences. That would free up the salesmen's time, and make it easier for customers. If there were an A- rating, I would give that.
