Description of Work: A complete new roof. They did a great job, the crew were all friendly and kept us informed throughout the process. From the beginning to completion it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone requiring a new roof.

Description of Work: Supplier was timely and met at the home to work on estimate. Called a day later with a total price, but provided no itemized list of pricing and no written quote. Supplier promised to contact us a week later in order to review the qote, but failed to do so.

Response from Martino Home Improvements
The home owner is 100% correct. I came out to his house to give him a quote for his two bathrooms and flooring. I was able to give him a ballpark estimate for everything. I went on vacation two days later, and did not get back with him in a timely fashion. I deeply apologize to the home owner, my company , and Especially me the owner should of gave a itemized quote in a timely fashion. Sorry

Description of Work: Removed old shingles. Installed new waterproof and insulating base and new roofing with vents. Recommend a contractor to repair water dameged plaster and paint (guy was good but expensive). Salesman didn't know that company doesn't accept discover card and took it as deposit. Held up entire process. Wife had to beg owner to place tarp over leaky section of old roof until the job could be started almost 3 weeks later than promised. Roof looks nice. Venting is good, house more comfortable. No more leaks.

Description of Work: Premium materials and techniques used. Couple of ad-hoc modifications done on the fly, no extra charge, to ensure no leaks in the future. Wound up with a little bit of shingle scraps from the tearoff clogging a couple downspouts, and a few scraps and nails on the lawn/driveway, but very minor for this scale of job.

Description of Work: This went from hopeful to horrible. The ladies on the phone were like angels. The estimator, well, he came from somewhere else. We were looking for a partial garage roof job, and the front door needed fixing. First off, he was half an hour late. I called the office to find out why. They called to locate him, and called me back to let me know that Jared was stuck in traffic. When he did arrive, his demeanor was definitely 'off'. My impression was that he was either high, stoned, or had a bit to drink. Prescription drugs would be my best guess. Seriously, he didn't even introduce himself. Just plopped his computer, paperwork and brochures down and started rambling; asking about the front door and what was the problem. Said we needed a new one because it was a custom door and they don't make frames like this anymore. Then he took pictures and supposedly sent them to Martino for verification. There was nothing wrong with our door! The hinges were coming out of the frame, and it really needs some repair to hang properly again. Even if we did need an entire door with frame, I wouldn't trust this guy to wash my car. Then he started pulling out brochures for new doors, beginning at $800.oo and up. We didn't even get to the real problem of the garage roof. At that point, I told him to leave. My 100 year-old father (it's his house) with Dementia, was standing next to me the whole time. Jared's speech and demeanor were becoming more and more irritating, to say the least. He just kept on talking (slowly and not quite slurred, but close enough) as if no one else was there; like he was in another world. For some reason, thinking I was escorting him out of the house so that he would leave, the one-way conversation got re-focused on the actual garage roof. All he wanted to do was push Martino's credentials down our throats. The guy would not stop slur-talking! Jared gave us a couple of prices: half a roof wouldn't be warranteed, but the complete job would! What?!? I had to force him to climb up on a trailer to actually look at it!!! Let me tell you, this young man had TROUBLE raising his leg to do so. Then he walked into the back yard a distance, while he was on the phone, supposedly with Martino. He said that Martino definitely said we needed to replace the whole door. From his camera phone he deduced all of this??!!?? Time after time I kept asking him for a price. Lo and behold, today's price will be higher tomorrow! What?!? We're done. Get out. Get out. Good bye. After walking away from him in our driveway, Jared was still murmuring at us about "being drunk", "must be high", etc., etc., etc.. Wow. I got Dad into the house and infuriated, called Martino's. I explained EVERYTHING to this lady, who told me that she would tell Martino personally what happened. And that she would have him call me himself. And to please give them another chance. She said that this guy hadn't been with the company very long. Reluctantly, I said, "Okay" actually thinking that the owner would indeed call me to find out if this was true or not. Half an hour later, we discovered that Jared had left his computer and brochures and pamphlets in our living room. I called to leave a message with Martino's, as they already were closed. Unfortunately, dear Jared called us to see if he can get his things. I left them on the front porch for him. Well, it's been 13 days now, and STILL no word from this company. The best part of all is this: I've been meaning to join Angie's List for several years now, but never did. I finally joined because I am tired of being taken advantage of. So, I went with a company that was HIGHLY recommended by Angie's List, and this is what happened. I guess you never really know.

I recently bought my first house and needed work done on the roof as it was old and leaky. I talked to a few different roofing companies before settling on Martino Home Improvements. Ultimately, I chose them because the price was good and I felt that they were building a roofing system based around my needs, whereas other companies were trying to sell me what they wanted. Everyone that I talked to was helpful and friendly. Not once throughout the process did I regret my decision. They came on time when they said they would, worked efficiently, and gave me updates on the progress of my roof. I would definitely choose them again.
