Potoroka Concrete and Construction LLC.

This is a terrible company. Took our “deposit” in March, pulled out existing pavers and let pool sit and rot for months while they did other jobs. My yard is an un-usable sandbox STILL and it’s now the end of AUGUST! Promised over and over they would be back - even had us go ahead and open the pool in June because job was “about to be finished”. Nope. We are out pool costs now x2 months to add to the damage and we lost an entire summer with our children. Now hiring a replacement contractor at a premium before the concrete season closes and suing Potokora for refund. Do NOT use this company!

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY. My driveway is two different colors. I was promised last year they would replace it. It was not done last year, and when I contacted them today I was told I was behind 14 weeks of other work!

Terrible! 1/3 of budgeted project was payed to secure the service, about 2 month before start. Close to the agreed date, they came in and said that they will be initiating the work, so, another 1/3 payment check was provided. They worked for under 1 hour and never showed up again... Now need to deal with court to recover my money... And find somebody that can actually do the job... Stay away of this company!!!

Wonderfully! We chose replacement with exposed aggregate and picked Potoroka after looking at recently redone driveways and talking to previous satisfied customers. The owner is extremely knowledgeable regarding aggregate. He is on the job working with and supervising his excellent crew during the entire installation. Installing aggregate is a much more complicated process than regular concrete so I am glad we went with a company that has so much expertise. It turned out beautifully and we are very satisfied with the workmanship and quality. We did have to wait past original projected start date but that was due to weather issues outside their control. Once on the job they were extremely prompt and curteous.

Provider charged me a $1641 deposit to secure a start date for a concrete patio install. Provider failed to provide a design and permit for job up to one week out from job start date. No return of texts, emails or phone calls. Provider now states that I lose my refund do to cancellation. I cancelled because we still had no design and had no plans of a definitive start date with multiple excuses as to why we are delayed,(pending weather even though it hasn't rained in 3-4 weeks) and still not explanation for lack of permit. Now failing to give me back my entire deposit after they stated over text we would be refunded our deposit.

Actual experience: Communication from the initial call was above average. I met Lynn and went over my patio. Project. Lynn shared a nice portfolio of projects ranging from residential to Municipal clients. I was impressed. She took a deposit and said the crew would be out to begin work in 10-14 days . They arrived on about day 20 after making a deposit. They rough graded the patio area and placed a few forms - not all. They didn't return for another 10 days to finish the form work. Another two weeks elapsed and after several calls and texts they finally poured the patio. They did a nice job. I paid them in full. This spring the patio showed large areas where the concrete absorbed the seal coat. I called and texted Lynn To get this fixed...and didn't hear back until 6 weeks had passed. Lynn had every excuse from losing her phone, being in school, And being deathly ill. A year later and the patio hasn't been fixed Don't hire this outfit. They'll promise the world, and not deliver

Wally and Lynne Potoroka are essentially running a criminal enterprise. They use the deposit from one job to finance the previous and god help you if you're at the end of the line. His concrete work is pretty good - if you can get him to show up. I don't think he has a license any more and I came to find out that they had never even pulled any permits for my job. Because I had to hire other contractors to complete the work and to repair their poor workmanship I never did get the complete project that I contracted for and ended up paying a total of close to $60K for a job that was supposed to be about $30K. I first gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps it was just a degree of mis-management or bad luck - but after my total experience I can come to no other conclusion than they fully understood what they were doing and had every intention of taking me for everything they could get. Lynne will promise the world but never deliver - Wally is the same - I sued and won in the Oakland circuit court but they are very adept (like most criminals) at hiding their assets. I haven't heard a word from them in over 8 months and never even heard an "I'm sorry" from them. They use the bankruptcy laws to cover their tracks as well. There are plenty of very good contractors that respect the hard working consumer and aren't out to take them. Look for one of those and avoid the Potorokas any way you can.

This is by far the best contractor I've ever dealt with. The crew was so professional and all of them did amazing work. I would HIGHLY recommend this company if you need concrete work done. I had a new pool put in and although the pool contractor completely botched the pool installation itself, the guys at Potoroka were the bomb!

The driveway went fine. The formers were put down, but they had a family emergency, so it was left unusable for 13 days. I went out of town and they poured the concrete while I was gone. When I came back, I realized they shortened the formers so that the walkway was much smaller than I had wanted by a foot. The workmanship on the stairs was sloppy, too. I called to spoke with them about the stairs, and they told me that the project was done and there wasn't anything they would do to correct it. They needed to stain it, but they said that wasn't part of the deal and I would have to pay extra. They washed the cement truck out in my front yard, as well, and you can still see the remains of that. My neighbor had to come out and scold them for saying inappropriate things to their underage daughter. I finally got his wife to agree to fix it when she came out to see the work. She said they would have it done in ten days, but they never called or came out. They've been avoiding my phone calls. I'm very disappointed with the service.
