+ -1 moreIn many ways they did a good job but there were a couple issues, and John Allen took absolutely no ownership or recognition that the issues were relevant. Issue #1. The drainage does not go to the drain directly, it ran off a foot away from the drain relying on the landscaping to be sloped to the drain. The original driveway drained directly into the drain and this requirement was discussed before the job. Make sure all your requirements are in writing, John was not flexible or friendly about this. I now have to extend the drain to eliminate erosion and make sure the water flows into the drain and both the garage. Issue #2 The area in front if the 3rd garage stall and turn around is rough and not the same smoothness as in front of the 2 car garage. The guy with the roller there amount of time required on three main drive area but not enough time on the turn around. Clearly looks like patch work. Issue #3 mobile basketball pole was moved by their Bobcat equipment and made two large cracks in the plastic. John had seen the location of the basketball pole and said it was off the driveway enough. The workers shipped not have moved it. All 3 issues have photos given to John and walked the work with John and he defended the work. If you want a job done right without arguments you should avoid Great Lakes Paving and John Allen.

+ -1 moreThere was one small area that was poorly bonded at a seam from paver passes so they returned & reheated the small area & repaired the area. The owner is very personable and responsive.

Description of Work: Paved our driveway with asphalt - base coat only so far |They did a great job. They came back a few days later and saw that there is a small area where water is pooling. They made a note to be sure it gets corrected when they come back to do the final coat.

Description of Work: Working with Great Lakes Paving was excellent. John Allen was responsive and receptive to our dates and pricing concerns. He followed up and all his crew were cordial and efficient. I would highly recommend GL Paving. Their price was competitive.

The owner, John Allen, gave us a very reasonable quote, worked with our schedule on some challenging timing issues, and followed up to make sure we were happy with his company's work. We were - very. I have asked him to quote our new home, as well. If this type of service and product is typical of his company, his peers will have a lot of catching up to do....
