I called them that night and inquired about my bill. The owner said that the invoice from the tech stated that he snaked my line, but he didn?t do anything! He wrote down different prices, scratched some things out and then ended up with a price of $149. The invoice said he ran the cable from the laundry tub to the waste line to try to establish flow, which is a lie. My friend questioned if the young man was even a licensed plumber because he found the clean out valve with no problem. I ended up paying him to snake and fix the clogged drain. The young man charged me $90 just to answer my questions and to put on a plastic stop on the drain because he didn?t snake or fix anything plus $59 for a service call! I am very frustrated! I even had a coupon for a free service call from my Angie?s List monthly publication. The only thing that was done was a plastic cap was installed on the drain. The point is that he lied and said he ran a snake from the laundry tub to the waste line and didn?t. He didn't even get the snake out of his truck and bring it in the house! He only brought a wrench into my house. Beware your invoice if you use this company!
Description of Work: I called the company and they informed me the service call was $59. I had a drain that was all stopped up. When he first came in, he took pictures of the main drain. In the meantime, my floor was still wet. There was no clean up valve in the drain. He gave me the pricing to clean out the drain. He said he would have to cut the pipe or go through the toilet. I decided to have him go through the toilet. He informed me it would be $400 to snake it out, but it was not guaranteed to open up the drain. The young man was very nice, but I decided not to have him snake the drain. I was told that if I asked anymore questions, they would charge me additional costs for the trip to my house! I didn’t read the receipt because I was told it was $149. I signed and paid for the bill.

It was excellent. I was very happy with their service. He came after their typical posted hours. He seemed very competent on the custom modifications he needed to make. He required a little custom work to adjust the difference in the models. He was very efficient at recognizing the modifications required to complete the job. He was innovative in the solution. He was able to get it done at a reasonable price.

I asked the company to send someone over because my main floor toilet kept backing up. They sent a young man named Tim. He was professional and personable. He looked at all the toilets in the house and explained that it didn't need snaking but replacing due to their age. I mentioned that the water pressure seemed low and asked if he could check too. He checked the valves in the basement, main floor and upstairs bathroom. He only charged me a consultation fee and wrote up an estimate for a new toilet. I'm glad I went Angie's list for a referral.

He looked at all the possibilities for the leak. Then he told us the possibilities for fixing it. He gave us estimates for the various possibilities. He began to take the toilet apart as much as necessary and discovered that it was only the seal. He replaced the seal. While he was here we asked him to replace the mechanism in the toilet in our powder room. He did that also. He was cheerful and professional at all times. I didn't get any creepy feelings that I sometimes get from people who come into my home to fix things. When he left, you would not know that he was ever there. He cleaned up everything perfectly. I would definitely recommend them to everyone who needs this service.

On Saturday, December 21rst I noticed a puddle by my basement floor drain. I knew what was up so I called RooterMD as they were the first plumbing company to come up with an A and a substantial number of reviews. They came out that night and tried to snake out my drain. Brian, the technician, worked very hard at it, even ruining one of the heads on his snake but to no avail. This part cost me $506.00 which I thought was a little steep even for a weekend. So my drain is still plugged up so Brian set me up for the next step which was 'hydro-jetting' my drain. I was scheduled for Monday, December 23rdat 4:00 PM. Brian said he was giving me a deal because of all the expensive but futile work that he performed - a 10% discount which amounted to $716.00, half of which I had to pay up front. The going rate for this seems to be $699.00 as I called a couple of other places. In the meantime my basement flooded with 2" of water due to the heavy rain and snow melting. On Monday, December 23rd Jeff and Clinton came out as agreed upon to 'hydro-jet' my drain. Jeff was excellent. He was very professional and meticulous, he's a perfectionist. They cleaned out my drain like new. I was very satisfied by the quality of work they did. He said that he didn't think the RootX treatment they offer was really worth it so I didn't have that done. Brian had said otherwise and really tried to sell that to me. All in all they did a very fine job. If you don't mind paying a little more I reccomend them as they do high quality work. BTW, G&J Plumbing had snaked out my drain in August. It lasted only four months.

I called them around 9:00 am and they came to the residence that needed repairs by 11:00. The leak was located and the tech gave us two options for repairs. He was able to work on the issue and complete the job by about 2:30. Prompt service, good work, and a pleasant attitude. It was a good experience.

They came out with a van and video equipment and identified wherer the back up was coming from, strategized and troubleshooted the problem, and gave me 3 options, the cheaper non permanent solution, and the premanent solution. I chose the latter and was pleasantly suprised, that although more expensive than the cheaper option my clog will not reoccur again for many years. They were up front, honest, friendly and showed and exlsined every detail to me and that made me feel better.

i called Wednesday about the 2 issues, they came out the very next morning (Thursday). They offered the free service call ($59) which they provide to angie's list members. I received a curtesy call both the night before and the morning off reminding me the tech was coming tomorrow/on his way. The technician was very prompt, efficient, neat. Effectively fixed the clog drain in the shower, working like new ($149). The outside water valve has not been working for a couple of years, replaced with a new frost proof outdoor faucet (approx $300). The technician wore the shoe covers in my house, appreciated this, he cleaned up after performing the work (did not leave a mesh). Efficient, took him less than a couple of hours to perform the work. Very pleased with their work, I will call them again if I need plumbing services in the future.

We first called on Sunday, November 3 and left a message. They called back promptly on Monday morning, November 4 and were able to make a same day appointment for us. Marshall arrived around 1:00 p.m. and worked until 4:00 p.m. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. The main valve head was broken and water had been running into the yard. First he drained all the water from pipes in the house. Then he removed the old valve and added copper pipe and a new valve (with an easier handle to use). We are very happy with his service. Now we can have the sprinkler system company come and winterize the sprinklers properly.

The drain in our basement has a history of backing up--a problem we have been dealing with for the past 18 months or so. Every few months, I call my usual plumber to snake it, which solves the problem but only for a short while. No longer confident in my plumber's ability to solve the problem, I searched Angie's List for an alternative company who might be better equipped to deal with this issue. I called RooterMD on a Monday evening because the drain in our basement had backed up again. I was able to get on their schedule for that Wednesday. Tim arrived to assess the situation and, because of my description of the history of the problem, decided to start with a camera inspection. In this inspection, a massive amount of root growth was discovered. Tim felt that--in part because of the severity of the growth and in part because of the age of the sewer line--that water jetting was the best approach. He explained, with patience and kindness, every scenario and every option. Because it was late in the afternoon, water jetting would have to be put off until the next day, which wasn't good for me so I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday instead. We went over the cost involved and I paid a deposit for half of the cost of the water jetting--Tim didn't charge me for the camera work that he had done that day. On Wednesday, Josh and Kevin came out to water jet the line. At several points during this process, they called us into the basement to show us their findings and update us on their process. Once complete, the camera inspection showed that the roots were almost non-exsistant. Unfortunately, however, Josh and Kevin's findings also showed a damaged portion of cast iron pipe that needs replacement--I requested an estimate for this repair. I am very pleased with the quality of the service that I received from these talented technicians. I found each of them to be highly knowledgeable and extremely skilled.

The technician arrived as scheduled with a call beforehand to say that he was on his way. He wore disposable slippers over his shoes and placed a work cloth around the work area. He worked efficiently and quietly. Upon completion of the work he reviewed with me what he did and asked if I had any questions. He cleaned up the work area before departing. The $69.00 service call was waived with a coupon from Angie's list monthly mailing.

RooterMD was called to try an use their liner system. Due to the severity of the root intrusion and misalignment of the pipe excavation was my only choice. The initial quote that I received from them was $700 higher than another reputable company. After discussing the quote, they took $400 off. They showed up on-time and did a good job. The only issue that I ran into is having to go to their office to see the final sewer line inspection. A tenant was onsite the complete job. I stopped by mid-day to check up on the progress and stated I would be back later afternoon. Once they completed the job, they called me and tried to rush me into immediate payment. I had requested that they please leave a copy of the final sewer line inspection video that they recorded on VHS prior to the paying the remainder of the payment. They were unable to wait until I got to the site and couldn't leave a copy of the VHS video. A simple upload to youtube would have been very helpful. Instead I had to take more time off of work to drive out to their facility.

They looked at my shower problem and instead of just quoting a price for replacing the damaged parts they said they may as well replace the whole plumbing for the shower for $1000 (approx.). The basement sink pump they said needed replacement, they haven't yet gotten back to me with the price. The next day I fixed the shower myself for about $50 in parts and a lot of running around to find them. The basement sink pump I looked up online and found that it needed adjustment.

Showed up on time, assessed the problem and quoted a price. Additional equipment that was needed showed up promptly. They also directed me to a building supply that had the necessary covers for the vent pipes that would prevent future problems. They cleaned out both pipes with in an hour and saved me any additional charges in hourly rates. The servicemen were professional, but personable. A service plan was discussed, but in no way did I feel pressured to sign up. All in all a good experience.

It went very well. It was good enough that I would use them again. I really appreciate it because when you call people up, they're always busy but I had an actual leak and they came right away because the water was leaking, it wasn't like they can't come over now, it was like okay, we have an actual water damage coming through the ceiling and they said "We're going to come over now". I paid extra because they used a camera that go up the plumbing thing if I have a blockage, it wasn't cheap, the whole thing came down to $800. I haven't had a problem.

To begin with, it just angers me to no end when I feel like a provider has ripped me off. And this is exactly how I felt after dealing with RooterMD. I asked him to fix a leak in the intake nipple on my whole house water filter. He also made the pitch of my needing my furnace cleaned, which made sense. He went back to his truck and came back with an estimate of $600. He explained the "up front" pricing. This is the most outlandish thing I had heard in a long time. I then asked him how long it would take to which he said about 1.5 hours. I asked him if they charged $300 per hour?? He said yes and then qualified it with the fact I needed a smaller piece of copper pipe and few shut off valves. I about sent him home..... To put this in perspective, the installation for the whole unit was about $340 total and the guy ran a lot of copper and spent the whole day doing it. So the furnace cleaning was $130 and the work on the pipes was $470. I then had to ask about and suggest other more cost effective remedies, one of which was PVC versus copper. He said that would work. Why did he only suggest the most expensive option then? I told him to move forward with the PVC. It was still outlandishly priced, but I had already invested $59 in the house call(And I had a leaky pipe). More on this later. He then advised he didn't know if he could fix the leak on the account of a possible crack in the plastic intake valve. He ended up stopping the leak, but I had to take him through scenarios on solving the problem of removing the prefilter without damaging the integrity of the piping to the tanks (you have to turn the base of the prefilter to loosen it, which puts pressure on the rest of the piping leading to the main tanks). All in all, we got to a solution and he was in the end cooperative and helpful. But I certainly had to ask A LOT of questions and make a large number of suggestions to get the price down. Later and after he had left, I noticed steel pellet like material in my sink. There were about 8 or so and some were quite sharp. This was residue from his work. I cut my finger on one when I went to remove them. Instead of bringing this to my attention or putting them in the garbage, he just put them in the kitchen sink. I was puzzled and quite disappointed with this approach to say the least. What would have happened had I not noticed them? Would some have been washed down the sink? Lastly, I was promised a receipt that night and that one would be sent in the mail. I needed this and advised him as much prior to him leaving. I never received my receipt and I had to call multiple times to get something so basic. I also asked about waiving the $59 minimum service fee to which he said it couldn?t be done. He said he had talked to the office staff who said they were no longer running the special and that they had advised me that there was no way this could be waived (not true). Every other professional outfit I?ve ever hired to do work for me in the past had waived this type of fee upon moving forward with the work. So I looked a few hours later on AL and found coupons for a no fee service call with work performed that day. gain, I advised him I found their contact information through AL. Give me a break. His mission just seemed to up sell me on something and extract the maximum amount of money possible. At the end of the day the job got done, but the goal of the up-front pricing, in my mind, is to extract every last nickel out of you. How can they know an upfront price on something as complicated as plumbing???? I will never ever use this firm again, and I advise AL customers to shop their job around, while paying particularly close attention to those who charge by the hour.

I am pleased with this company because from my beginning contact with John who set up my appointment, the prompt arrival of Tim the master plumber, clear explainations of my choices to the final removal of the old faucet and installation of a new one everything went well. I noted that the price seemed a litle high but I'm content with that because I believe I received a quality fixture and know I received quality workmanship. Thank you Tim!
Description of Work: Checked out old kitchen faucet and clearly explained my options regarding repair or replacement. I had a new faucet installed.
