I have not heard from them since their initial contact a week ago.

One comment- I work in Livonia and live in Whitmore Lake - they had a coupon running in the livonia paper so when I called from my office they assumed I lived in Livonia so gave me the discount. After realizing I don't live in Livonia they honored the discount (which I never knew about til they told me)

They did exactly what they said they would do. They were very accommodating, & the deck looks good.

The men showed up on time, re very friendly and did a very good job.

They were able to give me an estimate a few days after I called them. They were very responsive anytime I left a voicemail with them. After they did the work, about an hour after they finished it rained unexpectedly. That caused a few areas of the deck to look as though it wasn't stained. I called them and they came out the next day to take a look. As it was still wet they couldn't tell me exactly what the issue was but told me they would make a note of it and come back again to look at it in 30 days. When it finally stopped raining for a few days I noticed the issue wasn't going to go away and called them again. They came back out a few days later and offered to re-stain it a 2nd time at no charge. The deck now looks perfect and has given it life again.

The finish on our deck was in very bad condition; we had not refinished it in approx. five or more years. When Rich came out to give us a quote, he was concerned that the stain we had used in the past might not totally come out of the wood. He was up-front and honest in his appraisal of the condition of our deck and the condition of the finish on the deck. His crew came out and did a fantastic job cleaning the deck. As Rich had mentioned earlier, there were a few areas on our deck where the stain did not completely come out of the wood and we had four rust areas where we had once had a gazebo attached to the deck that did not come out in the power washing. We also discovered that there was an area under the deck where some bees had taken up residence and one of the crew members had been stung several times during the washing process. Rick personally came out and dug up the bee hive under the deck and applied the chemicals necessary to kill off any additional bees or larvae. Rick was kind enough to offer to do this for us and he did not charge us extra for his services. Once the bees nest was gone, his crew came back and sanded the deck to remove the remaining stain and Rich came out with a floor sander and sanded the whole deck floor to remove any remaining stain and to remove the rust stains. Again, he did not charge us for the extra work involved. The stain was applied by brushing it on; they did not use a sprayer at any time during the application. Two coats of stain were applied on both the floor and flat (horizontal) areas of the deck. We could not be happier! The deck looks terrific and Rich went above and beyond what we had contracted him to do. And by-the-way, Rich was just a super great person to work with! We definitely will call him to refinish the deck when it's time to do it again!

I have used the company before for pressure washing and staining and was impressed with their professionalism. This time as well, the estimate was done in a timely and professional manner with the proper measurements made and a good understanding of my goals with the project. Price was reasonable. I was not home when the carpenter was working but the results were what I was expecting and nothing was damaged. One of the rebuilt steps was a bit loose and I had to call the carpenter back to fix. Cleanup was reasonable though I would have preferred that the larger pieces of leftover rotten wood would be hauled away or at least pushed further back into the surrounding woods, rather than just pushed off the edge of the driveway. Biggest disappointment was that it took 11 weeks after I gave the go ahead, for the job to be finished. Delays started with them calling me back to set up a time, then the selected date had to be rescheduled twice due to other jobs running over. Finally took another few weeks to come back to finish a portion of the deck that was incomplete (they had lost my contact info). I will not use the carpentry services again, but will consider using them for power washing/staining.

The owner of Restor a deck came out the day after I called. Theothercompany that I was talking to couldn't answer my emails so I was grateful for the speed with which the estimate was done and also the power washing. I had been trying to talk to the other company for three weeks.

The results were excellent! Looks like it was just installed! It has allot of mildew on the deck and siding. They were very carful not to hurt any flowers or bushes.

I called a few places to get quotes and made an appt. for another company to do our decks. The night before that company was supposed to come out Richard Pauley from Restore a Deck came out to give me a quote. He was very professional and spent the time to explain exactly what they would do, why they do things as they do and when they could possibly get started. I immediately felt like I had made a mistake in going with the other company. Everything he told me made sense. He even spoke with my husband via phone (since he was in Chicago) and was happy to do so. I called the other company that night (Wed) to cancel them and hired Restore a Deck. They came out on Monday to power wash the decks. There were 2 workers so they each did a deck. They covered my flowers and cleaned up after themselves completely. After the decks dried (2 days) they came out and stained the decks. After the stain dried we noticed that the deck didn't seem to be covered completely. I called Richard and he came out the next day and touch up and add additional stain to the deck floors. We had never had our decks stained and have had them for years. It took much more stain than expected due to the wood being so dry. No stain was on the siding or the ground and they again cleaned up after themselves nicely. It was a great experience with Restore a Deck, all my neighbors are raving about how great our decks look now!! They were not the cheapest quote we had, but they use oil based stain instead of water based and they use a good quality stain. They also brush the stain on instead of spraying. I guess the only thing that was a little frustrating was that since it did depend on the weather you never knew if they were coming or not. I had to call them to see what was happening since we never really got times. I guess that part could have been better but everything else went very smoothly!

Quick estimate and scheduling, top-notch job. My eyesore of a deck is now beautiful! Thank you. Done with great care and quality products.

We were totally pleased with the work done and will hire Restore a Deck again in the future. Another Angies List success story as we found them here and chose them based on prior recommendations.

My deck was in terrible shape. I half expected Restore a Deck to say the deck was not salvageable. The deck turned out beautiful. It was green (mold) and gray. It is now is a gorgeous wood grain. It has a clear finish and water beads up on the surface. I had a minor concern the day of the cleaning and the OWNER came out that night and more than satified my concern. I am overwelmed by the excellent work of Restore a Deck.

I would recommend the fact that they are conscientious about what they are doing. They do it efficiently and they do it quickly. It is like they care. They just did a very good job.

Richard provided me with a detailed and accurate quote. He was professional and patient and explained all the different options in detail. The work was done on time and done well, my deck looks great!

From the moment I called them till the time they finished the job, I was impressed with the company in terms of professionalism, usstomer service attitudes and their expertise when doing the actual work.

The owner checked very carefully with us what colors we wanted for the decks and railings, and then applied them the next day.

They did a great job. Arrived as scheduled for power washing and did a nice job--the deck was transformed. It was a couple of weeks before the stain was applied, due to rainy weather, but again the job was done well with no disruption to us. They were very careful with our new landscaping (covered it with tarps for the power washing).

The motto of the company is to make old decks look new, and that is exactly what he did. He arrived on time and did a very thorough and professional job. I was extremely satisfied with the final product and will not hesitate to call him in the future.

This company also seals and cleans decks as well. They are very good. We did end up paying him more money for the paint, but, that was our choice not his. I have also used him for my Gazebo as well. He is wonderful.

THE REPRESENTATIVE WHO INITIALLY GAVE THE ESTIMATE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. THE EMPLOYEES WHO SUBSEQUENTLY PERFORMED THE WORK WERE ALSO PROFESSIONAL AND VERY EFFICIENT. THEY LET US KNOW THEY ARRIVED AND THEN WENT TO WORK AND THE JOB WAS COMPLETED IN NO TIME. THE JOB QUALITY WAS VERY GOOD. AFTER THE PRESSURE WASH WAS COMPLETED, THE DECK LOOKED NEW!!

It is just beautiful and it is holding up wonderfully.
