Restore-A-Deck

I received a quote within a few days of contacting company. The quote included paint samples to choose. I went with another company with a lower quote.

Came out on a Sunday and prepared the estimate after having a look at my deck (approx 700 SF). Took plenty of time to answer all of my questions during the initial visit. Ended up booking with restore-a-deck the following week. The first crew came out to do the cleaning and power washing about 3.5 weeks after booking (exactly the time frame I was told when I booked). They did a great job! Took the extra time to lightly spray the wood pulp off my house and back windows after the deck was completed. Rich came out after the deck was dried and dropped off color boards so my wife and I could decide which stain we wanted to pick. Staining crew was out the next day and finished the job. Deck looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. Thank you to Rich and his crews for being on time, professional and doing a great job. Highly recommend and we will absolutely be calling them the next time the deck needs a re-fresh!

Cleaned and stained deck. What i Liked most about the service, they did not leave stain all over my lawn. The service was performed last Summer and I do not have the paper work in front of me to give the price and date particulars. The owner is very nice and pleasant and so were the workers.

Very responsive from the start and throughout process. Booked appointment promptly and completed job on schedule. High quality job...even called to confirm and suggest new stain color. Also ended up using 2 more gallons of stain which they waved from the cost. Would definitely use this company again!

It was great. They came in and got right to work both days. They have a team of guys that know what they are doing. They did not get one drop of stain on the walls or cement. For under $900, I'd say it was the deal of the century. They provided all the stain too. That was included in their price. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The project was a complete re-decking of an existing deck with TREX. The guys doing the job were very good. They completed 99% of the job in 2 days. But getting the final punch list items completed took several phone calls and about 3 weeks to be completed. | |The biding process took a long time with several revisions. The contract I received apparently did not contain all of the items defined in the estimate because the 2nd final bill I received was about $1000 higher than the contract. When the project was completed, I asked several times if they would register the project with TREX to establish the 25 year warranty or if I would have to take some action. I am still not sure if they warranty has been registered. Overall the workmanship was very good, but the administration of the estimating, contract development and billing process needs improvement.

They did an excellent job and got it done in the time frame they gave us. I would recommend them to anybody.

After I received the quote it took 3 plus weeks to get on the schedule. Although they did explain in advance that it was a busy time of the year and it would take some time to get to my house. Once they began working, they completed the job in a professional timely matter. In the quote they mentioned an additional charge for sanding the deck floor. After the deck was stripped, they told me that the wood looked fine and it didn't need to be sanded. It was nice see that they didn't try to add services just to make a few extra dollars. The job was done very well and it looks great. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for this type of service.

Work was excellent; however a can of stain was spilled on the lawn. They came out within two weeks and replaced the soil and grass with fresh sod. I was very pleased their responsiveness to the problem.

I was given an estimated start date, but had not heard from Restore a Deck for a couple of weeks, so I called to see if the start date was still accurate. I spoke to what sounded like a young teenager. I told her that the staining of my deck needed to be either before or after my preplanned deck event; however she expressed very little concern for my needs. What?s even more shocking?.when I called later to cancel the deck staining service. There was absolutely no concern or care as to why I wanted to cancel the service. The person on the phone simply marked me off the calendar and the conversation was over. Hmmm?.I guess they didn?t really want my business. This company has A ratings and probably does a fantastic job, but the lack of professionalism on the phones turned me away from using Restore a Deck.

Prompt and on time service. Treated property like their own. Did an excellent job. Would highly recommend them.

Going to wait till next spring

While it did take a bit for the provider to respond to my initial inquiry, once he did everything was smooth. They came out the next good weather day and did all the power-washing. I did not know my fencing could look so clean. After a few days of rain, they were able to return and finish the staining of the deck. This was important as a major family party was coming up, it looked great. I am writing this almost a year later and the work still looks good, even with the nasty winter we had. I would recomend.

Although they did not give me a exact day; they stained my deck on Sunday as the weather was difficult. They did a great job! They gave me several quotes for restoring the upper deck which I felt were quite high and I did not do this worjk. The carpenter just called and did gave me 30 minutes notice and tore down most of the upper deck and said he was not able to repair so now I either replace or do away with it and it near November. The owner came out twice and was very helpful but the price to rebuild is just too high for a small deck that I never use. I was unprepared to spend that kind of money.

It had been several years since the deck had been cleaned and it was not in great shape. They came out provided an estimate/quote and were selected based on ability to do the job soon and good price. The deck was powerwashed and came out better than expected.e chose the color of stain desired and the stain was applied a few days later. There were a couple small areas where the stain did not take as well, and was lighter. We had been the extra stain and after going on line and reading this was a common problem I did some sanding and re-applied stain which is better but not as good as I would like. But recognizing the deck was not in good shape and we were not able to pay to have boards replaced or other more intense labor, we were and are very happy with the results.

Everything went very well. 2 men showed up and spent and hour and a half power washing and cleaning the deck with 2 power washers. They cleaned every spindle, railing, and step as well as the deck, it has never been this clean since we have owned the home. There was no damage to any of the wood or surounding areas. They also hung tarps to insure that there was no damage to our windows or siding. 4 days later the deck was stained and sealed and we are very happy with the results.

I had them do this job 4 years ago and they did such a good job I didn't even shop around, but called them to do it this time. They did just as good of a job this time. I would highly recommend them! The workers were very professional and they came right when they said they would.

My deck was a terrible mess. I had used the wrong products and the wrong methods doing it myself. Restore-a-Deck sent two crews. Both crews obviously knew what they were doing and they worked diligently. One crew stripped the deck and I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to remove the old sealer. In a couple of days, a different crew came and sanded and re-sealed it. There was one day of rain that delayed them. The deck looked beautiful after they were done. I made sure that no one walked on it for almost 48 hours, although they told me to stay off it for just 24 hours. When I did walk on it and looked closely at it, I noticed a few minor areas that I thought the sealer was a bit thin.. I really wasn't sure if it need attention. I called them and Richard Pauley came out and personally put on another thin coat of sealer. My deck looks beautiful. I feel confident that the finish will withstand the winter and I will certainly call Restore-a-Deck for all my future deck maintenance.

Also had a large play structure redone, so nice that it matches the deck. Glad I found RAD on Angie's list.

It went well. I engaged them for washing and staining but they came back and pointed out that some boards need to be replaced. They replaced the boards and stained it. Very good experience

I called several top rated Angie's List painting companies to come out and quote staining our front and back deck. A lot of them were "creative" in their approach. I liked Restore-A-Deck (RAD) because they dropped off a pre-made slip with all the details and a factory approach. Talking to them you could tell they restored a lot of decks. It did take RAD a couple of weeks to come out to do the quote which they said it would as it was a busy spring when everyone decides to restore their deck. They did not set an appointment for the estimate but came when they pleased and left a slip in the mailbox with the quote. RAD was a bit higher in price than the other companies but given they were the deck company that did 10 decks a day the premium seemed worth the price. They didn't like our existing water based stain and preferred the oil for many reasons which I could agree with. They used good quality Sherman-Williams paint. We decided to go with them and a few weeks later the deck work started. They were in and out fast. First they visited with the pressure cleaner which they did a great job. Then a week later they came to paint. They used a speedy brush approach. They missed a few spots and the coverage of the color wasn't very good after the first go. They came out to fix this promptly. In the end the quality and professionalism was good, they knew their stuff. The execution did seem a bit wobbly. I'm sure they are very busy. They could not tell us what day the pressure cleaners would come, but they would come "next week". They also showed up unannounced to do our deck with no notice at all, although given the deck was pressure cleaned it was a sign of things to come, but still it would have been nice to know the day and approximate time. RAD wanted to do both the front and back decks simultaneously but we asked that they do them separately so we would not be "painted-in" to the house. The scheduling was very uncertain and no specific times or dates would be given, it was a wait and see adventure. If the execution could get some tightening in terms of good color/coverage the first time and more foresight and structure with the scheduling, this would be an A+.

I made an appointment with them and they told me it would be two weeks out to do the work. They told me that I didn’t need to be home for the estimate, but I was hoping I would be as I had a question about the color. After the estimate, I called asking if they were going to choose the color or if I could when scheduling the appointment. No one showed up and I called them asking why no one arrived. They told me that I wasn’t set on the schedule because they thought I had an issue with the color and cancelled the appointment. I only wanted to look at some color swatches, but I still wanted them to do the work.

The had to come out several times because of the weather (it rained a lot). Even after the deck was all painted, it rained about 2 hours later, so the painter had to come back 2 days later to touch up the work and make sure everything looked good.

Restore-A-Deck was very detail-oriented and high-quality. They did a beautiful job with cutting in. They were conscientious and they were all very personable. There were a couple of things. One was they have two smokers and they were smoking. It ended up getting into the house. The second thing was, as they were leaving, one of the staff backed up his truck on the grass and spun his wheels which was not a very good thing to do. It kind of pulled up the lawn. It wasn't great. It could have been avoided entirely. The price was very economical.
