Mower Doctor

Hired Mower Doctor a couple of weeks ago to replace a belt on my Cub Cadet tractor. They were timelyonly a few days between the time I set up appointment and them coming out) and Liam called and told me the what was going on. They took payment over phone & my former repair place had me on a long waiting list. Well thanks to Mower Doctor the grass has been cut twice(Liam sharpened the blade) and they will be called when needed. Love the fact they come to the house and you're not paying a huge pickup fee.

Could not be more satisfied with tractor service from Mower Doctor. They have done the spring service, plus blade sharpening and install, on my 25-year-old John Deere tractor and mower deck two years in a row. They come right to my house and work on the tractor there- so convenient! Every tech who has visited has been knowledgeable and friendly, plus their front office staff is super helpful and nice. Great results, prices, convenience, and service. I recommend Mower Doctor with no reservations.

Fantastic experience. Mower Doctor came to my house and repaired the snowblower on site. The technician was right on time, he repaired the machine quickly, and it works a treat. I could not be happier.

Jason was on time and friendly. He completed the task quickly but the best part were the tips he shared. I made a couple complaints about the mower and he showed me, to my surprise that I had been doing some things wrong. I had no idea that there were choices. Also, I thought I'd need to replace the mulching door and rear flap, and learned that I don't, saving me a lot of money!

Jason did an excellent job. It happened during the busy season of fall clean-up. Jason picked up the tractor and had the repairs finished as soon as possible. Payment was handled easily and the tractor works great. Jason cares about his work and his customers.

I had an appointment for later in the week and Jason was actually able to bump it up 2 days for me! In just under an hour, he identified the problem with my snow blower (leaking gasket that had a pinch in it) and repaired it, showed me where my manual gas shutoff was to help prevent wear on the lines, and gave me some advice on how to keep the snow blower dried out so snow can't freeze inside it and put wear on the belts that run the auger. The best part of all this is he comes right to your home so there's no time spent hauling it somewhere to get worked on and then having to haul it back.

My Toro 5 HP stopped in the middle of clearing my driveway a few days before. I contact the Mower Doctor on 12/27/13 and he came out on 12/28/13 on time. He replaced the plug, cleared out the gas line and cleaned the carburetor, and cleaned off the machine. It was all done in his trailer. The local service providers all had a projected two week waiting period so it was well worth the $75 considering I didn't have to load and take the machine anywhere.

My mower was not running right. Mower Doctor comes out, looks around, says that the motor was overheated due to a mouse nest he had found under the engine cover. At this point I pay him the $60 fee for coming out and telling this me this. He then says that for another $60 he will take the mower home, get into the motor for a more definitive diagnosis and bring it back if no further work is wanted. At this point he is telling me that because it over heated the motor is junk and the mower has no value. He offered to take the mower as parts in leu of the further diagnostic fees. I asked him multiple times and he reassured me the motor is junk. I said, "well if you are telling me this is junk and has no value I guess you can have it for parts." He said, "Well wait, I have a few options I can explore to maybe help you out and get this fixed." He takes the mower and says he will call me in a couple days with a definitive diagnosis and what my options were. I did not hear from him for a couple weeks. After explaining the situation to a few friends they all agreed I was being taken for a ride and I needed to get my mower back ASAP. I called him to ask about what options he came up with. He explained that he found another motor for this, bought it, installed it (all without my authorization) only to find it was junk as well. I asked him if he would go ahead and bring my mower back and I could pay him the $60 as quoted. He gets defensive and irritated and started explaining how he has over 4 hours of work into the motor and needs to be paid for his time. The he changes to saying that he was under the assumption that I gave it to him. I explained that he told me he was exploring options and me giving it to him was a last resort. He went back to saying well ok, but I want to be paid for my time into the motor swap. I told him I authorized no such work and if he would have called when he said he was I would have told him that then. I had to tell him multiple times to calm down and lose the attitude. Which he then just said it was I with the attitude. He was also mad that I was calling his work phone on a Sunday. I told him I would have been more than happy to leave a message. He then became mad yet again and said, "I bet you want me to drop everything and bring this to you right now?" I said no, whenever you are available is fine with me. He said he would have it back to me a couple hours. He drops off the mower, tells me the motor is partially assembled, bolted to the frame, but not hooked up. He hands me a large zip-lock bag with my cam shaft in it and tells me that this was the problem. The exhaust lobes on the camshaft were worn off. He still says the motor is junk and I should just scrap it. After searching on the web I found out that my mower in its current broken condition is around $400-$500. If the motor were working properly it would be worth around $1000. Also, after consulting a few local, reputable shops, it was made me clear to me that there are other factors that could of cause damage to the camshaft.
