We paid $130/hour and they charged us for the 30 minutes we were giving instruction while they weren't even cleaning. They did a very weak job when they did clean (not even close to $130/hour worth). There were crumbs on the floor still, and the stuff they used to clean left a strange smell. Then on top of that somehow, they messed up our bathroom light and there's no power in our bathroom.

TL;DR avoid this Molly Maid if you want to avoid a headache and lost money for bad cleaning and horrible customer service. ----------------------------------- I am happy that other people seem to have gotten good service from this Molly Maid based on Google reviews (which was why I chose it), but unfortunately the team that serviced my empty condo for a "deep clean" failed to do much besides vacuum. I was flipping the condo from a renter to sell it and I unfortunately ended up having to come in that weekend to do the job I had paid for in order to get it on the market asap. There were cobwebs in corners, dusty baseboards, hair in bathroom drawers, dust and whatever else in the kitchen drawers, dusty ceiling fans and SUPER dusty window shades, when I later mopped the floors they were FILTHY... the list continues but you get the jist. Before I had seen the condo, I called Molly Maid that same day of the scheduled clean to understand if they had even gone to my house (there was no phone call as promised). They said that the 2 woman team had gone there and spent just under 2 hours there. Ok great. When I later went to the condo after work to check it (within the 24 hour time limit Molly Maid requires), I was able to see the poor job that they did. I called back but they were closed. I heard back from them on Monday, so I was also able to inform them that over the weekend the charges posted to my card and I was charged for 2.5 hours of work for 2 people, instead of the under 2 hours for 2 people that I was told by Molly Maid themselves when I called the first time. Was told that because I didn't call back within 24 hours that they would need to check if someone could come out for a re-clean free of charge or not. At that point, I had already canceled my weekend plans to do that re-clean myself and it was complete, so I needed a refund less about $20 for the vacuuming that the team did. Of course, this is outside of their procedure so the gal told me she couldn't do that but could fix the overcharge. I assured her that she absolutely could, but that it sounded like she just wouldn't. She said I was entitled to a re-clean, so we spoke in circles about that for a moment before I asked to speak to a manager. She initially denied me the opportunity to speak to a manager, although it was obvious the manager was there since the girl kept putting me on hold to speak to this person. I somehow eventually got a manager on the phone and explained my situation, and was again denied a refund. I tried to appeal to her saying that I work in customer service and when a customer is complaining, you find a way to make it right. She again told me I was only entitled to a re-clean. Not surprisingly, it was only when I threatened to write bad reviews and call the Better Business Bureau was she willing to agree to a partial refund. She then asked me "why would you threaten to slander us?" Uhhh? Giving a bad review and contacting the BBB for a bad service isn't slander. Sorry. In an attempt to correct the situation, the manager and I agreed that she would refund me the amount to bring my total to $60. Instead of refunding me, I WAS CHARGED ANOTHER $100. Totally crazy. So I call back again, ask to speak to this manager, she's somehow not available, so I leave her a message and explain what happened AGAIN. Without so much as a phone call or email, someone at the office corrected the error. All in all, you should probably avoid this place, but if you do go here, see if you can pay in cash to avoid this fat fingered credit card machine operating! So disappointing.
Description of Work: I needed my condo to be "deep cleaned" after a renter moved out and before we listed it for sale.

I use Molly Maid. I used them a year ago and I wouldn't use them again. I think I was over charged and very little was done. They could have cleaned. I didn't see where very much was cleaned. Basically they vacuumed for $300, I just wouldn't use them again.

They come every month. The first time they measured for the charge including my back screened in porch (charged for, but never cleaned all winter nor today for that matter), they forgot to clean my kitchen counter today - coffee particles under the canister & crumbs behind the sugar & flour canister. They did not even clean my toilet today! Two mo. ago they didn't clean the bathtub. A month or so ago they cleaned my stovetop, but never bothered to re hook up the burners. The $99 has been an overcharge & it took 2 very young woman 45 to 50 min. only which would be fine by me if they cleaned everything properly. But the worse was when I called to complain. They were not nice or the least bit concerned and never apologized for missing anything, never tried to keep my business and just hung up on me?

The new home I purchased had been cleaned by the previous owners and then I cleaned the bathrooms myself and then Molly Maids came in to clean. Things that I pointed out to them they did not do. There were still the same crumbs in the refrigerators after they left, hair left in places that I had pointed out to them. They had quoted me a 3 hour price; I left 1.5 into the work and left about 10 minutes after I did and didn't finish the work I asked them to do. They went through everything way too quick and too fast. In addition they went into our bathroom and left a bowel movement after she finished cleaning it. She sprayed Lysol, left the fan on, and left the door closed and left out our front door very quickly. I hired them to sanitize my new home and then this woman cleans my bathroom and then something like this! I called them because you do have 24 hours to contact them and they will correct the issue for free. The second crew that was sent out had a conversation with me after the work saying that the crew that had been there the day before didn't do too bad of a job. If this is what they consider a good job I will not be hiring them in the future.

I use them every two weeks. I think we contacted them may be five or six months ago to come out every two weeks. They are expensive, but they are here on time and give them 8 out of 10. They do a better job of putting the rugs back and making sure everything is neat. They don't push things away. I get the feeling that they clean it like it was their own house. I would use them again in the future.

The team that I have is excellent. Anytime I have had any problems or complaints they have resolved it quickly to my satisfaction.

They are good for general cleaning. They are punctual, come everytime they are suppose to. I would not say they are deep cleaners but good for general cleaning such as the stove and bathrooms. If you want something more you would have to book them just for that or book someone else.

The service was terrible, I could have cleaned better myself at my age. They do not clean everything and I have stopped using this service. UPDATE: They came out again today (3/20/12) with a different crew and did a good job this time.

When the team of 2 Molly Maids arrived promptly at 1:00, we discussed the time allotted on my discussion with the office for cleaning both upstairs and basement, which was about 2 hours. After seeing the basement, they indicated they thought they could do both upstairs and basement within the time allotted, and I indicated that I had some flexibility with time (if they needed more). They got right to work, starting in back of the house in bedrooms and bathrooms, and did pay attention to detail and were able to clean many areas very well, especially some places that had not been cleaned well for several years. So in that respect they exceeded expectations. Some negatives are that they knocked off air duct covers and did not replace them; they did not replace a large bible back on its stand after moving it to dust. They overlooked dusting a lamp on a nightstand. They knocked over a loose floorboard tile and it cracked, but they did not inform me this happened. Close to the 2-hour mark, I discussed their progress with the team members, and it was obvious they were barely going to finish the upstairs at around 2 hours. I felt they were working too slowly to have them also do the basement, so I told them to omit vacuuming and mopping the basement floor. Then she indicated that they needed 10 more minutes to finish up the kitchen and mop the floor, so I said OK. Then all was done, they were packed up, and I was presented with the total for the day for 2 hours and 10 minutes of work. I was NOT asked if I wanted to inspect anything before they left! Also, I had forgotten that I had paid a deposit of $50 by ACH by phone, so I just wrote the check for the total amount on the bill. The bill I was shown did not indicate that I had paid a deposit, either. Shortly after they left, my Dad and I noticed that the kitchen floor was filthy, still had spots on it in front of the refrigerator, and even though I heard them moving the kitchen table around, it was evident that their mopping solution and elbow grease were not up to the job of making a dent in cleaning the tile very well. My Dad and I were able to use cleaning solution and clean the areas they missed. It was very disappointing that they did not do the kitchen floor very well. If they needed even more time to do a better job, I would have agreed to it; but they did not ask for more than 10 minutes to finish the kitchen. I know this house needed deep cleaning, and I made that clear to the office from the start. I knew it would not be easy or quick for whoever did it. I felt that the team members were perhaps inexperienced in estimating job times and perhaps reluctant ask for more time. But if leaving a kitchen floor that dirty is acceptable to them, then it is a poor reflection on the company, too. At no time did I feel as if my approval as a customer was a priority, and I feel there was miscommunication and perhaps misunderstanding. I also called the office to discuss how the $50 deposit figured in the accounting, and they returned my call the next morning and let me know it would be credited back into the account in about 6 days. I feel there should be a better billing statement given to customers which clearly acknowledges their deposit and the ACTUAL charges that are due the day of service. How "nice" that they are getting a $50 "loan" from us for over a week! And from other customers, too, I imagine! The level of cleaning was good (except kitchen floor), but we can get this again from other companies or persons who are more concerned with customer service and quality rather than time.
Description of Work: Vacuumed carpet and floors, dusted most surfaces including ceiling fans, light fixtures, mini-blinds, ceiling corners, bookcases, TV and equipment and movie media, desk and storage boxes, dusted window sills and baseboards, cleaned sinks and tub and toilets, wall tiles, mirrors, bathroom fixtures, mopped bathroom floors. They did pay attention to detail and were able to clean things very well and exceeded expectations for the most part.
