Men On The Move

I was really disappointed. The scheduling experience went smoothly and I had read good reviews on Angie's list before hiring them. I had moved a lot between receiving my quote and them showing up for the day of the move, and when the movers walked in they said it would take half a day rather than a whole day as expected. It still ended up taking a whole day; not because there were major issues but because they moved unbelievably slow. My parents came over to help and noted the difference between the (lack of) speed of my team and what they had seen from the movers their neighbors had just used (similarly named company that's a direct competitor of this one). I ended up moving a significant amount myself to and from the truck because they were literally dragging all day. The driver was gruff, but his helper was nice. They weren't careful when moving furniture, and in fact were bragging about being able to carry things like love seats by themself instead of double-teaming, all the while denting the walls. I bought them lunch halfway through the day and just received grunts. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but some semblance of efficiency, professionalism, friendliness would have been nice. They did file a report to have our china cabinet fixed, which they had damaged during transit, but I didn't receive a follow up call from the company seeing how my experience was or following up on the damage (which was fixed by some company they contract with to handle such issues).

Excellent. Polite professional, careful, arrived on time, efficiently packed and unpacked items well and finished early.

It went really well. So well that I don't know how it could have gone any better. Mex, Jon, and Gene were thoroughly professional and also fun to be around. I'd packed about 70 percent of my household and labeled the boxes as requested in the pre-move planning brochure. Despite the rain the guys were cheerful and fast. I'm still kind of amazed that we moved me in three hours. I think the use of a third crew member was the key, as I was advised that paying a higher rate for the three man crew would pay for itself in the overall speed of the move. I think that turned out to be true. The fact that I could pay by the time unit, rather than by the job, made me want to try Men on the Move and it worked out really well. Some other places I called wanted a lump sum for the job, but without coming out to see my place and my possessions, how could they do a fair estimate? They couldn't. So I highly recommend Men On The Move, and Mex, Gene, and Jon in particular if you're lucky enough to get them.

These guys were great. On time, polite & fast. Very professional. We could not be happier with our experience with them.

If you're here to research Moving firms in southeastern Michigan, I recommend "Men on the Move". I doubt that I would have found them, if I didn't use the great resource that is Angie's List. After being blown off by the initial company we contacted to complete our move, we hired Men on the Move. They were available with 4 days notice, were prompt and arrived early on in the window provided, quoted us 3 hours of work and completed the job in 2, and were extremely professional and kind. Our next move will hopefully be decades away but if and when that happens, this will be the first company we call.

Max and Gean were professional and courteous. Did a great job and took good care of all our worldly belongings. They were able to fix the back of an old dresser before the move with a few nails. Gladly placed furniture where we wanted it, even moving it when I changed my mind. Very efficient move!!!

We had several pieces of furniture that were large and heavy. Brian & Ron were true professionals...made it look easy. They both worked hard and were fast, but with care for our things. I have since unpacked all of my china and stemware and not one piece was broken or chipped. Also, it rained the day we moved and both guys were very careful but not wanting to track in mud. Men on the Move were recommended to me by a friend and once I checked and saw their ratings on Angie's List I did not hesitate to get a quote. Based on my experience I have already recommended them twice to other people.

Excellent! Workmen were friendly but business like. They took good care of my property! It was a difficult job bringing furniture into my new Victorian home. They had to fit in and over a difficult staircase. Absolutely no damage.

Percy was awesome as was the rest of the crew. They were efficient and got the job done smoothly. Worked well together as a team.

It took 11 hours. They only brought 2 men. 3 men would have been a lot better.

Everything from the first call until the movers pulled out of our driveway went extremely well. Rodney and Don were great. They were very careful and respectful of our things. They had great personalities and were very friendly. Neither of them complained one time, though they had to move us on Halloween in the pouring rain. We had them move all of our heavy furniture up and down a 2 level wooden staircase and they did not damage any of our furniture or our new home. They moved very quickly while still being very cautious. I would highly recommend Men on the Move. The administrative staff was great. It was extremely easy to schedule and we received a confirmation call from what sounded like the owner. The guys showed up on time and re-iterated their charges and procedure which was nice. There was no hidden cost and the truck came with all of the blankets and supplies they needed to do a great job. I was really leery on hiring movers since I had heard such bad things from so many people on their experience. I signed up for Angie's list specifically just so that I could find good movers. Men on the move had fantastic reviews so we went with them and I see why their reviews are so high! Thank you guys for doing such an awesome job!!

Scheduling was easy. Don and Mike were prompt and got the job done in a timely fashion. We only had a few pieces to move but getting to the 3rd floor apartment via very narrow hallways and stair cases posed a challenge. They worked very hard but were still pleasant at the end. We will definitely use this company again.

Jeff and Joel showed up on time and ready to go. They provided fast, friendly and professional service. They made the move go smoothly.

I have to say I was so impressed with this company, that I have already told many of my friends about them. The men worked hard and fast, not taking a break and not taking there time. Every detail was considered and the care they gave to the move and our furniture was very impressive. It was so nice to see respect and most of all, that we mattered. We were so happy that we chose Men on the move!

Rodney and Joel showed up on time, immediately went to work surveying what needed to be done and even reviewed the requests I had made. Carefully reviewed costs and went right to work. I would definitely use again and recommend.

Ron and Brian arrived as scheduled and after giving them the run down they got right to work. I was VERY impressed with the service and how professional they were. I would highly recommend them as movers.

The move went well. The guys from the company were on time, very professional and did a great job.

Overall we were pleased with their service. One of the workers kept complaining about things which got very old.

they were punctual and careful. I'm not sure about the gratuity though, as they had in writing that it was not included. For what the company charged, I don't feel an additional tip was in order, unless the work performed was so out of the ordinary !

Two movers arrived at my house on a Friday in Madison, WI within the window of time they had given me. They called me about 45 minutes before they arrived as well. I had about 3 rooms that needed packing (kitchen, office, 3 closets) and they took care of that first in about 2.5 hours, then in about 30 minutes had everything on the truck. They took about 6% of the total payment as an up-front payment in cash, then drove my stuff back to Ann Arbor. As I still had some things to do in Madison, they held my stuff in the truck for four days. I drove to Ann Arbor arriving Monday at noon, and within an hour of walking into my new apartment the same two guys with one more helper were there to deliver my stuff. I paid the rest by credit card and gave them their tip in cash. Nothing was broken, everything was in great shape.
