Whole team did awesome job

The project was drawn out due various reasons. There was a mishap that required a call or to but I will say Steve as a proj. mgr was outstanding. If you go with Matrix I would request that Steve is your Proj Mgr. Overall Matrix did a good job we did get offline from a timeline standpoint, however that was more on unrealistic promises made by the sales person. However Steve and his crew did their best to make it happen but when it fell short they did put in some customer service work as a "make good" All in would I use them again? Yes. Just be more diligent about the timeline and getting everyone the same page out of the gate.

Horrible experience what should have lasted 8 to 10 wks lasted over 2 yrs of non stop fixing up mistakes throught all support walls throughout the basement. Would not reccommend their basement wall system the installers did a very poor job installing and project lasted over two yrs very upsetting and no one cared I just wanted to enjoy my new basement and for two yrs it was ****!

My wife and I hired Matrix to remodel our basement with professional quality. Matrix did work with us to delay our project as a result of a personal injury that delayed some work that I wanted to finish before Matrix began. Once Matrix began working, the problems started. Below is a list of the problems that occurred during the project: - Crew chipped corner of Dryer - Dry wall installed over light fixture - Walls installed under electrical receptacle in ceiling, blocking access to receptacle - Studs framing doorway installed out of plumb (corrected after I mentioned it to crew leader) - Corner of wall left unfinished (corrected after I mentioned it to crew leader) - Locations of electrical channels in walls unmarked (corrected after I mentioned it to crew leader) - Dry wall installed crooked - Cracks in dry wall mud - Walls cut too short in order to install drop ceiling at minimum code height of 6’ 8”. Plans called for minimum ceiling height of 6’ 10”. - New circuit panel was installed, but circuits were moved and not labelled - Stud walls not square - Nails driven close to electrical wires - Matrix wall unsecured at the top, allowing it to move - Stud wall next to Matrix wall set so that drywall will sit proud of Matrix wall - Stud wall with drywall is wavy - Return air register is crooked - Matrix wall set out of plumb and square (my son and I corrected this problem) - Framing installed over air conditioner compressor cable - Overall poor quality of workmanship My wife and I believe we were reasonable and understanding when we were told that the carpenters had other jobs to work on or when waiting for the other tradesmen. However, we waited over 4 months to have our project completed, which indicated to us that we were a lower priority compared to Matrix's other customers. We were originally told that our project would take several weeks. The last problem occurred after waiting approximately 1 month to have the plumbing work completed. I spoke with the plumber because he was not clear on the work that he needed to complete. I was told that his company would be at our house on a Wednesday. His company did not show up on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. I called him on Friday and was told that he was directed not to do the work because Matrix was reviewing the work that he needs to do. That was the first that I had heard of that. My wife and I finally decided to cancel the project and request a refund of some of our money. Matrix returned $1000 and I said that I would not give a poor review on Angie's List. However, after I began finding cracks in the seams that Matrix finished, I decided to write this review.
