Description of Work: So far we just have the quote because we live in a condo we need to obtain board approval. We inquired via live chat on the Internet about obtaining an in home estimate and whie in cat mode we set the date. They came out 2 days later. The salesman, Jimmy was prompt, very professional, he inspected and measured where the retractable awning will be installed and suggested 2 different sizes depending on our needs. The condo association dictates the color. There were many options to choose from and Marygrove includes the motor and the remote contro. When investigating online their website mentions different installation options and has several videos on how to install the unit yourself. When I asked about installing the unit on vinyl siding he stated that they will throw in the vinyl siding mounts (could have been an extra charge), and much to my surprise they had a $200 promotional discount and we were able to get FREE installation. Needess to say we were very happy with the price, so if you use their website to obtain an estimate, only use that as an ESTIMATE, an in home estimate is the way to go. I will update this review after we receive condo board approval and after installation.

+ -1 morePower roll-down shutters are hidden in a soffit above Pella door walls and not noticeable. All operate from wall switches inside house. They were designed and installed by Marygrove Awning in early-2002 and are still operating great ten years later in 2012. Unique for Michigan, we had these storm shutters on houses overseas and wanted them on our new house. We open and close them regularly for security, weather protection, inside darkness and and added layer of insulation from extreme cold. They have never needed service! We met the company rep at the Michigan Home and Garden show at the Silverdome 3/10/12, ten years after installation and asked if we needed to do anything further to maintain them. The guy who installed our system was at the show and said we're good for another 10-years without additional service. We are very impressed with this product and the installation.
Description of Work: Power roll-down storm shutters installed on eight Pella doorwalls and two other windows, for security and storm protection.

Description of Work: We moved into our home last summer but have rarely used the awning that covers the back deck. The awning was installed by Marygrove in 2007, and was covered by a 5 year warranty. We decided to unfurl the awning only within the last two weeks. Now, the awning refuses to retract. We called Maplegrove today to schedule a service call. The receptionist was quite curt, explaining that she was the only one covering the phones today. Once we explained the problem, she cut us off, telling us that the warranty was not transferrable. Moreover, the informed us that warranties are never transferrable. She didn't respond well when we noted that nothing in the warranty indicated it was non-transferrable, and that we already had to use warranties on two other appliances on our home that had been issued to the prior homeowner. She then hung up. Not cool. I won't use Marygrove unless, as a last resort, they are the only awning shop that can repair our awning. Very unprofessional.

+ -1 moreThe two man crew that came out was extremely pleasant and very detail oriented. They ensured the quality of this awning was up to my standards, and cleaned up as if they never came. I was in shock that they came out so quickly and very pleasantly surprised to see such excellent work. After it was done I received a call from Mary ensuring I was one hundred percent satisfied. I just wish every contractor was as nice and as professional as these people were to me.
Description of Work: A year ago I was given an estimate of twelve hundred dollars to put in a new awning which would cover my back deck. I spoke with Jim Bailey who quoted me this price but I decided to wait another year before I was to have it installed. I called the next year and they actually honored the same price, came out within the next morning and had the new awning installed before I woke up at 8:00 am.
