We are extremely happy with our new master bath. Owner Marty Mauricio is great to work with. He kept us in the loop every step of the way. When we asked if we could defray some of the expenses by doing some of the demolition ourselves, he was willing to do that, which we appreciated. His tiling artisan, Martin, did a fantastic job with everything he took on with a keen eye for detail. His assistant Juan was right there helping, always busy. All extremely nice guys, very truth worthy, reliable and knowledgeable. They put in a lot of hours everyday and always cleaned up afterward. Marty and his team turned our vision into reality. Our bathroom is everything we hoped it would be and more. Highly recommend Madera for your remodel.

The finished product is a work of art. Marty, Martin and all of the other workers were very professional and took pride in their work. They made sure everything was done perfectly. While the job finished behind schedule, the finished work was worth the wait. I will recommend them to everyone I know and will hire again should I need work done. Marty was great. My basement went from an ugly cement box that was totally dank stinky to a beautiful new room with a bathroom and laundry room. Its beautiful and comfortable. In fact my kids spend most of their time down there! He also contracted out new heating and cooling for the entire house which is perfect. Thank you!! Would totally recommend. Went very smoothly.

The remodel went well. Marty was very responsive to the unexpected things that always come up in a remodel.

Marty and all of the guys he brought in for various aspects of the job were great work with. They provided professional perspective without being pushy and listened to the design ideas I had at every step. Communication was easy and clear - Marty asked for appropriate clarifications, but understood most of my questions or directions easily. The job felt pretty easy and that’s a good sign!

Marty and his team did a great job. They were responsive, friendly, meticulous, and skilled. Marty was up-front when there were some tricky spots that needed discussion. He did a great job coordinating with his subcontractors and suppliers. I would hire Marty and his team again.

Our remodeling was done in a professional and courteous manner. From the beginning to the end of the job the workers were there every day (Mon - Fri) until it was completed to our satisfaction. They never left until all the work was done. The owner, Marty, stopped by every day to check on progress, do some of the work himself, and talk to us about how we felt it was going if we were happy with everything. He is meticulous and very skilled in the remodeling business. He gave us good ideas and suggestions on ways to save money and also pointed out areas we needed to give more thought to as to how we wanted things to look. This was important because he was aware of things we hadn't thought of that affect the final outcome . The results are beautiful and we are completely satisfied. Although we are glad to have the construction over we will miss seeing Martin and Chris each day. They work for Marty and we grew fond of them. We highly recommend Madera Building Company!

Over the past 20 years we have worked with this company and remodeled our house. Highly professional and accurate. Marty is brilliant, with a keen eye for design, precision, and perfection. His crew is the best in every way - on time, clean, polite and highly skilled. We always call Marty because he is the best.

Marty was very responsive initially and was very friendly on the phone. Came over and looked at the projects and gave us some advice. He also referred us to a guy we are currently working with. He quoted us on a project down the basement and I replied with two emails and a follow-up text and haven’t heard back. Not sure what we did, but apparently our business wasn’t needed.

These projects were done almost end-to-end, one after the other. From the first day, Marty and crew showed up when they were supposed to and were always reachable for questions or concerns. We did make a couple changes along the way, and Marty really rolled with them. We also had just a few bumps in the renovation road (inevitable with a project this size), and those issues were immediately addressed as they came up. The finished product is absolutely beautiful! If you want a contractor who is reliable and really cares about customer service, Marty from Madera Building is your guy! We would not hesitate to hire him again.

Obviously, we would not have had Marty continue to work on our houses unless we were extremely happy with his work. We have worked with a number of other contractors for painting, new or remodeled decks, vinyl siding, brick repair, etc. Some were good, some were awful, some were so-so, but none exhibited the degree of professionalism, attention to quality and responding to the needs of the customer that Marty has provided for the work on our homes. The first of the two major renovations Marty did was extensive remodeling in 2012 of a 2000sf ranch home (with a 560sf addition where he installed new carpeting). In the 2000sf main house, Marty completely renovated the kitchen and main bath, framed in seven large closets, constructed a new master bath, installed new flooring, doors and molding, brought in a roofer who did a great job, and did it all with excellent quality and in a timely fashion. The other major renovation was remodeling of a large finished basement, which was just completed in August 2017: Marty remodeled or completely installed: The modest bar area into a full kitchen, a beautiful new full tiled bathroom, a new bedroom with egress window, and a new exercise room. This job involved extensive electrical and plumbing work, and it was so well done even the building inspectors were impressed. Again, Marty did the work with very good quality and in a very timely fashion. He also worked well coordinating his work with our heating contractor (who installed a hot water boiler and seven radiators), and was very patient even though the heating contractor did not work in timely fashion. You can't go wrong hiring Marty! We already have another smaller project we would like him to do and are on his waiting list to get that done. Note: The cost noted below is for the extensive basement remodeling, including electrical and plumbing, and all building permits.

Marty, the owner and his people were always on time, they were courteous, quick and they did a superb job. We were very happy with the work they did in a short period of time. Even though it was a very busy summer time for Madera Company, Marty made sure that the work in our house was finished on time. We can recommend Madera Company to anyone who needs a job done well in their house.

Very good. Marty was responsive to questions, and quick to explain what work was being done when. He was clear about the costs and timing of the job and the price differences for add ons. His crew was detail oriented and considerate.

Excellent. My laundry room is nicer than I imagined, and I like having the laundry on the main floor. This was the third time we had Marty do remodeling in our home. Marty is very helpful and we trust him completely. They also did little things, like replacing door handles and replacing light fixtures. Marty and his crew were always on time and very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend him.

Martin and his crew completed a full renovation which included new drywall,flooring,stand up shower with subway tile and adding a exhaust fan . All work was completed appropriately and turned out great! Martin and crew were friendly and professional and did an amazing job .

The bathroom remodel went well. Marty & his team did a really good job, and were respectful of our house. The team was on time and cleaned up after themselves every day. Marty turned around the quote pretty quickly, and the price was fair. This is our second big job with the Madera building crew, and we would be happy to work with them again. We have recommended them to family, who are also pleased with the outcome of their project.

We were in a bad situation due to an unreliable contractor from Ann Arbor. I was fortunate to get in touch with Marty at Madera and explained the situation. After talking through it with him, we decided to split up our big project into smaller pieces in order to get back on schedule. Marty and his team managed to squeeze in our first part of our project despite being very busy. His pricing was competitive with what we had received from other contractors. His communication exceeded expectations – providing regular updates on the status of the work. He also arranged for a separate team to come in and help start the 2nd part of our project (removing our lower cabinets and tile countertops) which was a late decision. The work was completed on schedule at the agreed upon price and it was quality. Thanks to Madera we were able to accomplish all of our projects and move into our new home by deadline. Well done!

The workmanship was awesome. The Kitchen looks beautiful. Cannot stop admiring it. The flooring looks amazing. The entire team was very professional and friendly. They were upfront of all the surprises and the cost changes, that came up as the project went along. I would definitely recommend them and will use them for our future projects.

i cannot say enough about Marty and his team. They are wonderful!! I spoke with Marty on Monday about what I needed done and that I needed it done ASAP. He and his team were very busy but Marty was able to meet me on Wednesday to give me an estimate and returned the following day to start the job! By Friday everything was done and it looked beautiful. I'm so happy that I stumbled upon him through Angie's List and I would recommend him to anyone that needed renovation work done! Marty is such a sweet soul and I'm so glad to have met him!

We were very picky about what we wanted and Marty catered to our every need. He walked us through color coordinating the hardwood floor with our cabinet and granite colors. He custom designed a beautiful tile mosaic for the back splash behind our stove, as well as the wall. We used the vendors he recommended and were very happy with the service we received from them. We had all new electrical work done and added recessed and under cabinet lighting. This was our first home remodeling job and Marty never hesitated to explain the pros and cons of our kitchen/electrical layout when we had questions or were unsure about our choices. It was a messy job, but Marty's team made sure to protect all of our furniture from any damage and we had none. Everything was done in a timely and efficient manner.

Let me preface this by saying the work that I did get done by Madera was very professional. I would have given them straight As had it not been for an issue I had regarding additional work in the spring of 2011. See final paragraph for details on that. In the summer of 2010 I had a family room that I was in the process of remodeling. I got it stripped down myself, but I decided to hire someone to do the rest. That’s what Madera did. They put up all the drywall, including all the sanding. They also installed the trim and crown molding, along with installing a single recessed light that I needed. Marty (the owner) was great at explaining things from start to finish. He and his crew got the job done quick, and the room looks great! Now, as I mentioned, I would have given them straight As, but I called again earlier this year to get some additional (unrelated) work done and was totally blown off. I called to set up a job and was told I would be called back after they were done with the job they were on. That date came in went and I never got a call. I had to call them, and again was told I would be called back to set up the details. Again, I never got a callback… and at that point I stopped calling. I haven’t heard from them since. I know that they had a big job going on at the time, but if they were too busy I would have rather been told they could not do the work, instead of being blown off the way I was.
