To avoid a constant dripping of the bathtub handles, we were going down into our basement to shut off the supply lines. Which meant going into the basement before and after we were finished taking a shower. K & D Plumbing responded to our phone call and repaired the problem the next day.

I contacted Dan to get a quote on a re-pipe and left a message on his voicemail. He returned my call in a reasonable time frame and scheduled a walk-through for the next day. He showed up at the agreed upon time with his son/partner, also Dan. They were friendly, courteous and professional. They surveyed my situation, asked me a couple of questions and said they would get a quote to me via email within a few days. Two days later I got back what I thought was a very competitive quote for both copper or pex. I replied to Dan and scheduled a pex re-pipe for a couple of weeks later. Dan was clear about where he needed space to work and I was able to prep the areas accordingly without much trouble. I also asked him his opinion on my water heater since I was replacing my pipes. He said and quot;I don't like to tell people how to spend their moneyand quot; but did say that the typical water heater loses it's efficiency after ten years and if I were to purchase a new one from a big box store and have it downstairs, he would gladly install it for no extra charge. Seeing as my unit was 16 years old, I opted to do just that. Dan (son) showed up at 8:30am on our install date and promptly began working on cutting down and removing the old pipes. Dan Sr. showed up shortly after and let me know to expect a third person who would be assisting with the job. It was a noisy job, as I expected it to be. By 3pm, the job was complete and Dan and Dan were sweeping up while I inspected the results. Everything looked great. In some cases, they went above and beyond what I expected including replacing an old laundry faucet with a new one. The new water heater was installed and working and all of the fixtures in the house were tested and working. I was very pleased with how little mess was left behind. I expected far worse considering they were cutting and removing 56 year old steel pipes. They were careful to use drop cloths and swept up any mess left behind. I highly recommend K and D Plumbing. The experience was painless, a great value and Dan and Dan were a pleasure to do business with. They have a great demeanor and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Everything went fine and on schedule. Our first experience was installation of all the plumbing in a remodeled main bathroom.

K and D Plumbing has performed well on the four occasions that we have dealt with them and we would highly recommend them.

K and D Plumbing did fantastic work on the repiping. Dan Doletzky, his son Daniel and another gentleman (oddly enough, also named Dan) arrived at the house an hour before the city was to shut the water off--roughly 8:30 a.m., so as to get a huge head-start on the lengthy job involved. By doing this they managed to get all the work done no later than 4:00 p.m. the same day, with the water back on, the integrity of the new pipes tested out, etc. Wonderful. Granted, with a 55-year-old house such as ours, and with such old steel piping, there was going to be a mess here and there, lots of noise, etc. But when the work was done and tested out, I was amazed at everything they'd done, and at exactly the price quoted. Also, because they brought with them their own dropcloths, it took only one full working day to get the entire basement and the two involved rooms upstairs back to 100% normal--a very small price to pay for such solid, professional one-day work. Two hours after the K and D crew had left, I had a few questions/concerns, and Mr. Doletzky swung by the house the same day to address these, and it really helped that he lives but a half-mile away in the city of Livonia! (Hence, he is very local to all you Livonia residents, especially in the State-streets subdivision(s), which has quite a few houses built c. 1955.) And a week later, I again had a small handful of questions/concerns. Dan and Daniel swung by later in the day that exact same day and, sure enough, all was answered...everything was squared away. These gentlemen value what you point out to them, value your questions asked, and actually appreciate the time the customer puts in on checking over their work, and subsequent feedback given. And so forth. They haven't a 'There, there' attitude at all. So refreshing, especially when it comes to plumbing! I so highly recommend K and D Plumbing for all plumbing work you may need. The price/cost was to-die-for ( I mean, a total repipe?!), and so was the work. Speak with Mr. Doletzky and his son, in person, just once, and you'll know exactly what I mean when I say and quot; These guys are what you look for in plumbers! They know their business, they're personable and they inspire confidence the work will be done right!and quot; Kudos, D, D and D! :-)
