I couldn't believe they had 5 guys for such a small job. This company is owned by 3 brothers, and 2 of them were part of the crew. They were punctual, polite, fast, efficient and professional. They did quality work and even went above and beyond what was needed. Our old fascia board was flat, but they put custom bends in the new fascia. Not only does it look nicer, but it should also withstand high wind better (we lost the old stuff in the strong wind storm a couple weeks ago.) They treated our small job with the same importance as a very big one. They definitely value their customers. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone. P.S. They were also the cheapest estimate out of three.

After a storm, we found that a branch and fallen onto the roof and through some of the roofing, Andy responded very quickly, was able to get out over the weekend and get back to me, and have it amen care of in a few days. This was especially important to me as I was traveling and had to rely on the Angieslist messaging and voicemails which worked very well for my situation. I was happy with the service, and responsiveness, and they would be my first call if I have a problem again down the road with my home.

called the eveing before starting and started at 6:30 am the next morning would have liked a little more lead time but all went well. finished the whole job by 2:30 that afternoon, no wasted time. a little more expensive but the quality of work was worth it, did a good job of cleaning up. would use again if needed.

First I would like to say that not all construction companies are willing to deal with a woman without her husband present. This was not an issue with Andy from JK construction! They were not the least expensive bid I received, but the quality of materials, the support with design and the extras made me decide this was the company to go with! I was not disappointed! Working with Andy on colors and design created a vision for my house that I was excited about! The crew from JK was friendly and a delight to work with. The final result was more than I had hoped for. Three days of siding, and one day of roofing can create a mess, that's expected. But each day before the crew left, everything was picked up. In fact, on the last day of construction, the area around my house was cleaner than what it was before! I might sound crazy, but I will miss the crew! They were the best! At any point during the work, at least one of the brothers/owners were present. On the last day, all three brother were present. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! My expectations were exceeded!!!!

This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. Andy and Jeff were very professional and great to work with. Their crew was very professional as well. They started the job when they said they would and finished ahead of schedule. The results were superb. Many of our neighbors have complimented their work. They left the job site as clean as they found it. We would highly recommend JK to anyone considering this kind of home renovation.

Everything was excellent! They were very nice and professional! It has rained a lot since they fixed it and I have had no leaks.

I obtained three bids to put vinyl siding on the house, including a well known major contractor. JK had the most competitive price and played no games - everything was included. The job was finished promptly and all the work was done with a high level of craftsmanship. I asked for a few extra touches and they did them without question. I highly recommend them.

Almost $700.00 for gutters on 2 car garage with two down spouts. I am on disability Seems like a lot of money for two pieces of gutter . Trim by front door was about the same cost but the trim on front door was just something that i wanted and not a necessary as much has the gutters on garage which was flooded by recent rain .

I contacted Andy regarding a proposal for siding our home. He was quick to respond and willing to work with my schedule. Unfortunatley, I mixed up the times and missed our appoitment. However, he still took the measurements and left an estimate and color sample on our doorstep. We decided to go with another contractor who had done simialr work for family and was slightly cheaper. I would call Andy again should we need future work quoted.

Our job was a quick one so we were told we would be squeezed in between other jobs. Not a problem, we weren't in a huge rush to get the work done. They showed up yesterday morning without calling ahead (It would have been nice to know they were on the way so we could be out of our PJs). The work was done beautifully and quickly. The team was friendly, polite. When I went out to make sure all the repairs had been done, a few were missed. Mainly because the team doing the work wasn't didn't include the same man who gave the quote. The guys quickly and efficiently took the ladders off the truck and touched up the repairs. The repairs cost a bit more than I would have liked, but less than some of the other quotes I received. The quality of work is wonderful! I'm a happy camper. :D

Andy came out to my residence and provided a requested estimate after contacted. He is a very confident professional, pleasant to talk with and punctual. His assessment took a little less than 1/2 hour, complete with high-level discussion and review of options and colors (samples in the back of his pick-up). He quoted a price, indicated his company was middle to 1/3 higher than what the competition would quote, but felt his company provided a higher level of service and you get what you pay for (not a negative comment; similar to discussions with others that also quoted). This is a competitive service industry, and I felt I was able to negotiate a better price on quality materials with a competitor, so did not select JK Home Improvement.

They cleaned up the grounds and garage every night before they left, couldn't have done a better job of clean-up myself. Workers were professional, did a very thorough job, answered every question and concern. Did some creative detailing on our front column that we haven't seen anywhere else. Have gotten lots of compliments from our friends and neighbors on how the finished job came out. We are very satisfied.

Our home was built in 1974 and it was time to replace the original aluminum siding which was dented and discolored and coming loose in several places. JK was not the cheapest quote that we received but from the first visit for the estimate, we felt very comfortable with the company. Andy came out right away and not only did he give us an estimate on the spot but he was able to answer all of our questions and, importantly, he did an awesome job of helping us choose colors and styles. JK was able to get to the job within just a few weeks of the quote. The job started with a small crew coming out to do all of the trim work around windows and doors. The guy who did the trim work was a true craftsman. All of his work was done with painstaking care and the results show his dedication to detail. The larger crew showed up a few days later and was able to remove the old siding and install the new within a week. They installed 3/4" foam board followed by the new vinyl siding. They used our garage to stage materials but each day before they left, the garage was left in good order and all of their tools and ladders were left neat and orderly. When the soffit areas were opened there were gaps into the house. The crew was careful to temporarily close those openings to avoid getting any critters up there overnight. After the project, the crew did a great job cleaning up the garage and the yard. Overall, the craftsmanship and attention to detail was really great for the whole project. We are very pleased with the results and have gotten numerous compliments on how the house looks fresh and updated with the new siding. I can't say enough about how professional and courteous the entire crew was. They all seemed genuinely happy to answer all of our questions or make changes that we requested (like moving a light fixture after it had already been set up for a different position). They were all super polite and even tried to help my wife bring in groceries from the car! At the end of the day, JK was not the cheapest choice for this job but we are very pleased with the work they did and would not hesitate to choose them or recommend them for other jobs!

I highly recommend JK Home Improvement for any type of work that they do. Our garage looks fantastic and we are now saving to have them side our house in a couple of years. In the meantime, we've hired Paul Bauer of Bauer Home Improvements 734.717.2542 in Ann Arbor to paint the aluminum siding -- so it can look almost as good as the garage :) Back to JK ... We had four companies give us estimates on installing vinyl siding on our garage and our house. Our preference would have been to install a James Hardie siding -- but that's out of our price point. JKHI offers that product line as well. All of the estimates that we received were higher than we anticipated, but we really needed to get the garage done, so we bit the bullet this summer. Andy Kondrath arrived on time and with great ideas, material samples, photo albums of work they had done on other properties and he gave me an estimate on the spot. His estimate wasn't the lowest of those that I'd received, but I really appreciated that he knew his schedule (weather permitting), how much time the job would take and he had other good reviews on Angie's List -- he was meeting my expectations of their firm well. We discussed the products for our job, he made some recommendations for us, which I liked and he was just a real straight shooter. I signed the contract, gave him a $500 deposit and hoped he would fit us in within the next three weeks. Andy called me to let me know they would be starting our job within the time frame he estimated. The supplier delivered the materials two days before and placed them in a thoughtful location. To my surprise (the good kind of surprise) JKHI finished a job early one day and in an effort to beat the weather, they started in the last half of their day on our house and finished the job the next day. They were timely, professional, very neat, did an outstanding job and seem to work together like a well oiled machine. After they were finished with the siding, their gutter company colleague came followed them for the new gutters. Their operation was really seamless. Andy followed up afterward to check on the job and our satisfaction. We ordered shutters for the front of our house from them and will continue to use their company for other work that we may need to have done in the future. And...this is just cute -- Andy and his two brothers, Jeff and Bill, own the business and their mother is the receptionist. They were funny together and clearly cared about every detail of the job, no matter the size. I am a twenty year Realtor in Ann Arbor and I will recommend JK Home Improvement to my clients and all of my colleagues for their client needs -- these guys really are terrific.

This company is amazing! First of all, they are a group of brothers who work hard along side what seems to be another group of brothers. They appear to have fun doing a great job on your home. The team of people working on your home have obviously done a lot of work together, they are a well oiled machine. They started out with an most impressive stunt when the leader of the group came out to measure my home and witnessed a man hit my daughter's parked car and flee the scene of the accident. At which point, Jeff Kondrath (JK) jumped into his own car and chased the man down, forced him off the road and took his keys away until the police came! Who knew that people did that anymore?!? Needless to say, we were extremely happy, and it made the police report and insurance claim process much easier. We were anxious to see if their work would be as high quality as his chivalry. It was. They did a great job hanging the siding. They kept checking to make sure we were happy along the way. They had rain for the first 3 days of the job, but they showed up anyway and worked whenever the rain stopped. At one point they had a question about something specific, they called in an expert from Hardieboard to come assist them out to make sure it was done correctly. My "engineer husband" was out checking their work all the time and was completely satisfied with an excellent job completed. They did a great job cleaning up when they were done. It was great to have them leave me with a beautiful new house. Would definitely hire them again.

While their listing here clearly states they serve Wayne County and as far as Oakland and Macomb counties, apparently they have decided not to service the residents of Detroit. I was told by the person that answered the phone that I'm "just outside of their service area". How can that be, when I'm directly on their way to Macomb county? I'm located on Woodward 2 miles south of Ferndale, and somehow that is too far from Livonia, which is only 20 minutes away. This is ridiculous in my opinion. Hmmm, I wonder what they have against the residents of Detroit...

Andy was great to deal with and the price he charged was fair for the work involved. His crew did an outstanding job. The trim around the windows looks great. The quality of work was exceptional.

I am a little picky and just about every time I have work done on my house I fell like I did not get my monies worth. When JK was done I felt like I got more than I paid for. I would use them again in a minute.

My newly purchased home needed lots of exterior Repairs including siding ,windows, deck repairs I called this company many times on different days No one ever answered the phone or called back Very nonprofessional.

Andy was very responsive to the initial call. He came over and did a great job explaining the product and process. Once we decided on a date, the crew came out and completed the job within 1.5 days. The crew was very polite and efficient. I feel that their work is of very high quality. I am very satisfied with the work that they have done and find them very reasonable to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Upkeep of a home which helps the elderly stay in their homes may seem like a formidable task. Unfortunately, we have all heard of dishonest contractors who take advantage of the elderly. However, I am pleased to report that Andy and his team were very kind, professional, timely, cleanly, and really sought to put my elderly parents at ease with this siding project. Their house looks great, the price was reasonable, and we are happy to recommend this company to others.

I called "JK Home Improvement" to request a quote to reroof my house. We scheduled an appointment to meet and Andy Kondrath came out to quote the work. He arrived on time and we discussed the work to be done. After measuring the house and detached garage Andy provided me with his quote. He expalined the procedure they would use the size of the crew and how long it would take. After comparing this quote with 2 others I selected JK Home Improvement not just on price but on my understanding of what they would do. They called the day before they were to start work to confirm they would be out at 7:00 A.M. and that is when they arrived. The work involved removing the existing shingles, building felt, drip edges, louvered roof vents and continues ridge vent and installing new ice and water shield, building felt, drip edge, continuous ridge vent and Landmark roof shingles. They also added Leaf Guard to the existing gutters because the house is surrounded by mature oak trees that drop lots of leaves and acorns. The weather cooperated and they completed the work in one day as Andy said they would. No surprises were found when they were doing the work. They did a good job cleaning up all the debris befor they left the job. I am confident I made the right decision to have JK Home Improvement do the work and will definately consider using them for my next home improvement project.

Andy came to our house to estimate the job. The quote he gave was right in the middle of the other estimates we had received. He provided us with an online design tool that helps you visualise the new look of the siding before it is installed and we really liked that capability. We decided to go with this company rather than a lower priced alternative primarily because Andy was very personnable and gave us some very good design advice on what the new look of the house should be like. The other companies had just agreed to go along with the original ideas we had come up with but because we are not professionals, some of our ideas would not have turned out very well on the house. Andy made very helpful suggestions that we appreciated. While some of the suggestions increased the overall price of the job, we know he did not make them for the money since he was willing to do the job the way we had originally proposed. Andy also gave us a long list of other jobs they had completed in the local area and we had a chance to see how their work had turned out before we made the final decision. With Andy's advice, we ended up with a much better looking finish to the house and we were very pleased. Neighbors have complimented us on the beautiful new look to our home. The work itself was done is just three days. Others had estimated taking a week or longer. The crew was professional, curteous, and effecient. They cleaned up the work site nicely on completion of the job.

I had called several other contractors including the company that installed the siding. They all either never called me back or told me they were not interested in a small repair job. I checked Angie's List and found JK Home improvment was highly rated and figured I'd give them a try. I contacted them by phone and explained the repairs that needed to be performed. They stoped by the house when I was out of town and called me with an estimate, i gave a verbal Ok and they were out a week or two later. They called me to let me know the repairs were complete. I inspected the repairs and sent them the check for the agreed upon estimate. The repairs have endoured several wind storms and i feel they did a good job and were very easy to work with.
