BBB suggested that I file a complaint with the Attorney General. Do not use this company.
Description of Work: They totally scammed me. The person who measured the kitchen, living room and bedroom and said they would return in a week. After three weeks, they didn't return any phone calls. We finally found out they had filed for bankruptcy and said they would not return my money. I am still working on getting my money back.
They were terrible. They had to saw the floor many times because they did not know what they were doing. They cut corners, and the workers were unprofessional. They made a mess, and did not clean up. They used defective products.
Description of Work: They put in hardwood floors and carpet
Work was scheduled to begin, by sales rep., Gary Emery, the 1st week in December, 2011, and was to be completed in 7-10 business days. We contacted the company on 12/2/2011 and were advised the wood had not arrived and the date was moved to 12/12/2011. We contacted J&R on 12/9 for a start time for 12/12 and were told the wood was still not in, no one had called us to advise of this developement. We had to ask them to go ahead and start the tearout, a job which ended up taking them 7+ days in all. J&R wanted to start the tearout after the wood was delivered, which didn't arrive until Thursday 12/15. Pete, the main installer, was polite, arrived as scheduled and worked hard. The rest of the installers, including one of the owners sons, were quite the opposite and very little work was produced by any of them. They knocked over heavy equipment that dented new boards and never cleaned up the site at the end of the day. Our garage was unusable and equipment was left everywhere. The stair nose pieces and the quarter round were not ordered through the company we purchased the flooring from, and we were not told about this until after they were well into the project. The pieces were purchased at Home Depot and finished by the crew. They even attempted to stain and polyurethane in our kitchen, we had to tell them to take them to their warehouse to do the work. The finsh on the peices they brought in did not match the floor and had to be redone The stairs, installed by some of the other installers, were so bad and there were so many dented and scratched floor boards around the areas they worked in, we requested that J&R come out to inspect the work already completed. Gary Emery, our sales rep., did the inspection and he agreed the steps looks bad and there were many dented and scratched floor boards . We were disappointed with all of the work completed by the team that did the stairs, and asked that they not return, so Pete was assigned the task of fixing all of the problems. Pete worked for over a week fixing stairs, replacing boards, etc. On Jan. 2, 2012 there was one final piece of trim that Pete was struggling with and we had a trip planned. We told Pete he would contact him when we returned, but have since chosen not to. We will finish the trim piece ourselves and live with scratched and dented boards. We felt like the job was rushed and not enough caring professional craftsmen were assigned to get the job done in a timely manner. We were not in a hurry to get this work completed, but the sales rep. assurred us a job this size would take no longer that 7-10 business days. Pete worked by himself most of the time(his assistant rarely showed up) and the other team totally botched the stairs and everything else they touched. The carpeting job went much better than the hardwood flooring, but the seams do show and the creaks that were supposed to be removed are as loud as ever already. Customer service was non-existent. We would call for days and days, but never get a return call. We had to call over and over until we finally caught either Gary or one of the owners in the office. The only time J&R Flooring called us during this entire project was to ask for more money.
Description of Work: Carpet installed in bedroom and den. 1050 sq ft of Prefinished hardwood flooring installed on 1 level, 12 steps and landing. Old carpeting and tile kitchen and hall flooring removed.

Hired J&R mid November to lay ceramic tile. Two weeks later, the install guy showed up. His name was Eric Carr. He worked two days. He delivered material on day three but did not work. He worked again on day four. Then, we did not hear from him for five days. After that, he showed up sporadically. When he did show up, he only worked a few hours. We gave J&R a $5,000 down payment. A couple of weeks later, they wanted another &3,000. Just before Christmas, Eric tells me that he needs me to pay J&R the balance so that HE could get paid. Eric told me that he was not going to get paid until the job was done. He did 95% but never came back. After New Years, J&R got another crew to finish the job. Thing is, they were supposed to come back and replace two chipped tiles that I had shown Eric before he ever left. We also asked for more grout in several places where the new crew missed. The new crew was also supposed to place a transition strip in our furnace room, but didn't. They are supposed to fix that too. Tomorrow is January 28, 2012. The job started on December 3, 2011. It STILL isn't done. I have to admit that Eric did a great job. He told me that he couldn't finish because he had not gotten paid by J&R. The job that the second crew did was horrible. I am glad that the only thing they had to do is the furnace room.

They did the work in stages. We had downstairs done, stairwell and upstairs. They accommodated our schedule with theirs, so it worked out fine. The installers were really good and we had good experience with them.

They did a perfect job. You can't tell where the new floor and the old floor meet. Rick, the salesman, was very helpful. It was nice dealing with him.

Right after we bought the house we called this company to take out some of the old carpeting that was left over from the old occupants and to install laminate flooring and carpeting throughout the house. They came when they said they would, installed a good quality product, and they price was reasonable. I do not wish to show the price at this time, but I can say that overall this company is very good and I recommend them highly. After the euphoria of moving in, I noticed problems with the workmaenship. I felt nails (tacking) under the carpeting. Someone on the phone told me to just go and smash the area with a hammer. Then the floor corner pieces were placed over old higher wood. didnt think about it at first but they would fix it, for a price more. the rugs upb the stairs were never tacked down properly. horible workmanship. the owner had a family member doing the work. Calls back for assistance were met with distain and no show at the house when promised. I am so sorry I took this cheap way out. I'm paying to have it redone professionally.
Description of Work: This company put in both laminate flooring and carpeting for the entire 1450 square foot of floor we have at our new home. They took about 3 days to so completing this and then cleaned up and took the refuse away when they left.

WE DID THE INSTALLATION FOR THIS CUSTOMER FOR ANOTHER COMPANY OTHER THAN OUR OWN. THIS COMPANY SUPPLIED THE PRODUCT TO US AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHORTAGE AND THE FAILURE TO HAVE US RETURN TO COMPLETE THE WORK.
