Description of Work: I have used Independent Lawn care in the past at my previous house. This service was pretty much limited to Aeration and laying down fertilizer. I noticed numerous brown patches in my lawn when this service was done and there was absolutely no notice or warning from the Technician about what this could be or what actions would need to be taken to help my lawn.

Response from Independent Lawn Service
We talked with the customer shortly after his review regarding his statements above. Our records show that a detailed list of findings regarding the conditions of his lawn was left on his door by our technician. When we talked with the customer he advised that he still had the invoice in his possession. We asked him to review the invoice, he said he would and that he would amend his review. We have since pulled our invoice and the following evaluation was given at the time of service. Service Description: L04 Late Summer Weed & Feed Inv# 208157 Service Date 8/19/15 Start Time 4:56pm End Time 5:19pm - Today's application was a balanced combination of slow release fertilizer & a special broadleaf weed control. If no rain, please water for 20 minutes within 24 hrs. Service Notes/Conditions: Today I applied round 4 fertilizer & spot treated any weeds on your property. Weeds will begin to die within 14 days but will take longer to fully decompose. Bentgrass is present in the lawn. Because bentgrass is grass, normal weed control will not control it. Course Fescue is present in the lawn and is also a grass, normal weed control will not control it. Dull Mower Blades - the shredded appearance at the top of the grass blade is from dull mower blades. Sharpen Blades. Drought Stress is causing yellow patches in the lawn. Please increase watering. In general, turf grasses need 1" of water per week. Heat Stress is causing yellow patches in the lawn. Please increase watering. Heavy Thatch is present Needs Water - Please increase watering. In general, turf grasses need 1" of water per week. Tall/Thick Fescue is present in the lawn which is a grass, normal weed control will not control it. Weeds in lawn were treated. Please allow 14-21 days for results. As always, we ask our customers to call us with any concerns. We continue to call the customer regarding this subject and his rating. We await his reply.

Description of Work: Aerated in the spring, fertilized in the summer, seeded in the fall. Workers were friendly and helpful. Aeration and seeding (with machine that cut grooves) was a bit sparse. We have a smallish, irregularly shaped lawn and machines don't turn well. Not much effort was made to get into inconvenient areas. They did throw extra seed on un-machined areas but with so-so results. With a bit of extra work on my part, the lawn does look much better.
