 + 0 moreI have no assurance it ever happened. I understood they were going to leave a card of some sort by our door. I never saw it. Perhaps it was blew away or was lost and they did on fact do it. I simply don't know. I can say the tree that needed it the most doesn't yet look rejuvenated.

They treated my lawn for weeds, and my trees/schrubs for insects. I would not considered doing business with this company again and would not recommend them.

 + -1 moreI have signed up for a full year of service (fertilization, weed control, grub treatment) with Independent for the 2014 season. I was given a very fair and competitive price with a nice discount for paying for the whole season up front. I look forward to satisfaction in their lawn services based upon the professional and thorough conversation with them and the good reviews I read on Angie's List. One important note: I was not pressured into purchasing more services than I wanted. The sales person made me aware of the other services offered but at no time pushed me to sign up for them.
Description of Work: I called Independent Lawn Service after repeatedly becoming disgusted with my current lawn treatment vendor's service department and invoicing. I was very pleased with my conversation with the sales representative at Independent who was very well informed and provided me with all the information I needed to decide to cancel my current provider and use Independent next season.

 + -1 moreOverall, it went well. The reason for not giving them an A was the damage that was done to my lawn during the aeration process.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List "deal" to have the provider come out and do fertilizing, aeration and over seeding. We spoke on the phone to schedule the work, during which I received a pretty aggressive sales pitch for additional services (which I don't really mind and doesn't affect my rating for them - I just think people should be aware that you'll be pushed hard to buy more services). We did end up buying a mosquito spraying service from them (5 visits over the course of the season). The fertilizing was what we expected and the aeration/overseeding was scheduled for the fall. The aeration is the only place where I was a little disappointed. The equipment they used adequately aerated the lawn but the large tires on the equipment also chewed up my lawn in places where it was especially wet. The mosquito spraying service was fine - they came out at various times during the season and we noticed a marked reduction in the number of mosquitoes compared to last year. We'll get this service again next year.

I also like that I have not had to contact him since I started the contract last fall. They leave a description of what they did and leave a sign so I know they were there. It is very convenient and easy for me.
Description of Work: They are doing all my fertilization on a regular basis. They come depending on my needs. They spray for bugs and insects as well. They come at least once a month. I pay annually.

 + -1 moreThey come out periodically and I signed up for the full year maintenance plan. They fertilize the yard based on the requirements of the yard and the time of year it is. They also apply a weed killer to prevent weeds. That is basically what they do. This is my first year with them and they seem to be very consistent. Our yard looks better than it ever has.

I upgraded the Angie's list package but their service was still very reasonable priced, they are quick to reply to calls and emails, and their technician always calls a day ahead of time, which matters to me so I can keep my dog out of the yard that day :-)
