The Operations Manager, Jeff Laurie, Jr., came on October 1st and asked me what I wanted done. I advised him that I needed all of my gutters replaced and would also like an estimate of what it would cost to get gutter guards. He wrote up a proposal which we discussed and he gave me two estimates of two different types of gutter guards. The complete estimate was $1,195.00 to install gutters and downspouts on the complete house and then he gave me two amounts for each type of gutter guards and he advised me that I only needed the lesser amount due to the surrounding of my house not having a lot of trees. Mr. Laurie told me that they would be out Monday morning (10/7/13) and they were here earlier than expected which was very good to me and completed all of the work in a timely manner. The installer told me if I had any problems to let them know and he was also very nice. I love the way the gutters look and although I won't need them soon, I would highly recommend them to others.

It was a great experience with Great Lakes Gutter right from the start to schedule getting a quote to finishing the job and clean up! I called to set up the appointment for the estimator to come out. John came out within 2 days and provided excellent ideas and a very competitive price. I then called and had the job scheduled a few weeks later. When the crew did come out, they were very polite, efficient and attentive. I had a water problem in the front of the house that caused the siding and window to rot and I wanted 2 additional down spouts and gutters to be extended. They did that at no additional charge and did not fuss about the last minute changes. The gutter guards and the gutters look like good quality and the color matches well to the house. The crew walked me around to inspect after they were done and then cleaned up and left. They made sure that there was no debris left behind. It was a delight to have Great Lakes do the job and will certainly refer them to friends and family. Keep up the good work!

Called to get an estimate and had our nasty old gutters removed and replaced within the week!!! The team was prompt, and got the job done quickly. Our new gutters look great and we are extremely happy with the work that they did for us. Two thumbs up, keep up the great work!

Outstanding!!! The office staff is professional.....the salesperson arrived on-time and was very knowledgeable. The installation crew was on-time, friendly. Everything went well....I highly recommend this company!

They were very accommodating. They were able to do the work with or without you being home. They were able to up to the second story and clean everything out. They did an excellent job. This is our 3rd year using them.

Great crew arrived on time and were friendly and courteous. Walked around and confirmed the changes to be made and addressed any questions I had. Fast work and cleaned up everything. I have a *** of a neighbor that they politely dealt with better then I would have lol. Thanks for a great job!

Called for an estimate. Came out next day. Two days later removed old gutters & put up new ones.

They will not clean gutters in the summer ...they are too busy with installations...told to call next season.

Excellent experience.... They came on time as promised and did an excellent job. They were professional and the quality was perfect. The crew worked till the job was finished around 6;30pm and left the premises spotless

There was some initial trouble with communications and getting a quote. Their work was excellent. The work was done quickly and professionally. The guys cleaned up and left no debris behind.

Great Lakes Gutter did an outstanding job in a very professional manner. They kept us informed about their arrival time, and the crew was absolutely first rate in their workmanship, customer orientation, and diligence. The work required the installation of new facia boards for the entire roof (they apparently were left off when the house was built 50 years ago). This was unforeseen when the job was originally bid, but became apparent when stripping away the old soffits. They quickly responded by bringing in the required additional materials and working very long hours with the owner John coming out to assist his team in getting the work accomplished. We highly recommend Great Lakes Gutter, you can't do better.

I sent an email request for an estimate, and received a phone call to set up an appointment within 24 hours. When the salesman came out, he was extremely knowledgeable and didn't push the upgraded gutter guards, but instead gave me several options. He also had color samples of the gutters, and gave me a written estimate right then. We called to schedule the install a few days later, and were able to get the date and time we wanted. They crew was on time and while they did make a mess removing the old gutters, they cleaned everything up. Our old gutters were full of debris, so they had quite a job to do! Their original time estimate was 4 hours, but they were done in under 3. I have no complaints, and we are extremely happy with the results.

After reviewing Angie's List for a contractor, I decided to contact Great Lakes - I called for a quote, and was able to schedule for the following Monday. The Estimator arrived on time. We were told he would contact us with a quote. A few days went by and we did not hear from them. I then called the office and spoke with someone that stated my paperwork was on the owner's desk and I would receive a written quote via email by the end of the day on Friday (this was Monday). Friday came and went and no quote. It has now been two weeks and still have not heard anything. UPDATE: I did receive a quote the next day as well as a follow-up email.

Installers came approximately two hours after the time frame I was told they would arrive to do the job but they did call to ask if they could come later because of running over on previous job and I agreed. The crew of three was completely done with the job in about a half an hour after ringing the door bell to let me know that they had arrived. They left the job site in the same condition as it was before they arrived except for a new gutter on the porch.

We had water coming through the ceiling, into the kitchen in heavy rain. Since our roof is new, we thought it might be a gutter drainage problem, but we weren't sure. We were given a one hour window for arrival. He arrived well within that window. We explained our problem. He climbed onto our roof to examine the gutter and downspout. He cleared the end of the downspout, which was completely clogged. Saying that it is always hard to tell with water where the problem might be originating and saying that to do a downspout fix would not be expensive in itself, but their minimum charge would exceed the value of the work done, he proceeded to get back on the roof and work for about 45 minutes to do a re-route of the downspout. We provided some tools and a ladder, he provided his expertise, his help, and all roof work at no charge. He indicated that we could see if this temporary (and as he described it) not beautiful fix would resolve the problem. (Really what he did does not look bad.) If so, we could then have something a bit more finished looking done. You don't often get service like this any more.

They were on time and they did a great job. They were very thorough and they followed up. They had the best price.

Original service was actually performed late summer of last year (2012). Great Lakes Gutters Co. was highly recommended to us by my father-n-law and co-workers. I seen the great jobs that were done on their homes and was confident to purchase their products and services. Unfortunately on this rare occasion, a crew member that performed the installation was a disgruntled employee with poor character and workmenship issues [which is no longer employeed by GLG's]. After carfully inspecting the entire installation, I came accross a few flaws that I knew were not up to our's nor GLG's standards and called to notify them. With in days two representatives were sent out to our home to review. Upon further inspection and reporting back to management, we recieved a prompt phone call with no hassles to arrange a date agreed upon to come back out to correctly replace/repair whatever we felt necessary at no further cost of our own. That date was this past Monday the 3rd and they arrived as promised and the two crew members [installer & carpenter] were VERY curtious, professional and meticulous! Made sure before they left our home that everything was completed to our satisfaction. Even took pictures of the work performed on our second level were my wife and I clearly could not see. I recently had two major back surgeries and GLG's were very accomodating and went above and beyond in finalizing tasks that were essential to our home. Over all, this was a positive experience and we are very happy with their work and the over all relationship with their customers! We highly recommend Great Lakes Cutter's Co.

Called for an estimate for new gutters. An appointment was set for 10 AM, but sales person arrived at 11:30 AM. They never called to let us know that they would be late. I decided not to use them because failure to communicate effectively may reflect upon their work product. UPDATE: Great Lakes did call repeatedly once my review was posted. I can appreciate the desire to understand what went wrong, and trying to learn from the experience; but to have multiple messages left starts to transition from good business owner to other things... They asked me what they could to to change my rating from an F to something else, when I don't see how that is feasible when they did not get my business, and there was not a final product that could be corrected. With that said, the appointment was scheduled for 10AM and was never given a time window. They even admit to being late to their time window, and as part of being professional, if you cannot make an appointment you should always call before or at the time of the appointment and communicate the reason. As for the 1 PM statement, that was to notify them of my availability when we were selecting a time. Once the appointment was set, other plans were made around that; and they did arrive at 11:30 because I was on a conference call at that time. My review cannot speak to their work product only the manner that they communicate.

I like the material they provided. I had 3 contractors come out and they were the only one that offered this particular gutter cover, call the Rhino Guard. The guy that come out to give the estimate, did not make a heavy sales pitch, or make promises that we both knew couldn't be kept. The installers were polite and friendly. They got right to work and was done in less than 3 hrs.

Great Lakes Gutter did a fantastic job. They said they would be there at 9am and in fact showed up at 8:15. Explained the process, asked if I had any issues or questions and they went to work. Were done and gone in a couple of hours. No mess left in the area, removed all the old gutters and downspouts with them. Great, efficient job. Very honest note: I was fully prepared to get the gutter guards installed that they had quoted as well. However, I was told by their sales guy that it doubled the price and with the steep pitch of my roof it may be too much and the water would be rushing over the guard and over the gutter. Said if I don' t mind doing a little gutter cleaning then it wasn't worth the investment. Hopefully that doesn't get the sales guy in trouble but was a nice piece of honesty and a large reason why I went with Great Lakes.

Three men showed up for the job. The crew chief explained that they would replace the damaged fascia board and reattach the gutters. The job was completed in a little over an hour, with no sign that they had even been there (in other words, no debris). If you need gutters, or gutters repaired, these are the guys to call.

Bout 5 hours they did all job and clean up after.

The agent came to my house to provide a quote the day after I called. He was quick and professional. Unsolicited he provided a rationale for why the rear gutter had failed and suggested the need of a second downspout. He provided two different maintenance-free choices and clearly explained the pros and cons of each. As this was the third quote I had received for the work (and was in line with what I had found on consumerreports.org), I accepted his quote on the spot. The repair folks showed up two days later, as scheduled (they called in advance to let us know so as not to alarm anyone in the house when they started crawling around on the roof). The work was completed within a couple hours with no mess left behind. Over the weekend there has been a heavy melt, and the gutters appear to be working perfectly. The office called me to ask for a credit card payment the day after the work was completed, which I was happy to supply

Everything was great they cleaned everything up and hauled it away. Put new gutters up with gutter guards within 6 hrs. They are the best would recommend Great Lakes Gutters to all.

Awesome experience. Perhaps the best contractor we have ever used. Amazingly fast, friendly and professional, starting with the estimate (estimator had many good ideas) through installation. Highly Recommended!
