No nonsense quote from Granite City. Measuring team was professional and thorough. Work was performed in a very timely manner--1 week from measuring to installation. Installation was well done because measuring was so accurate. No mess left. Overall experience was excellent.

Job went great from start to finish. They were out on time to measure and pick-up the sink. One week later they did the install as promised. Their price was very reasonable and the quality and workmanship were spot on.
Description of Work: I required a bathroom vanity top with an under mount sink to be fabricated and installed. I went to the showroom and picked out a remnant. No pressure, no sales people following me around. Very helpful with any questions I had during my selection process.

After dealing with a big box store and having communications issues and measuring problems, we visited Granite City. They gave us a tour of where they cut and polish the stone, and listened to what we wanted done. After this visit, they measured the cabinets for the countertops just two days after the cabinets were installed. From that date it took just over two weeks to get the countertops installed. 1. Granite City cost was more than the big box store quoted, but the big box store quoted incorrectly, leaving out a major piece of the countertops, so I don't have a realistic price comparison. My best estimate is that Granite City cost about the same as the final cost would have been for the big box store. 2. Granite City used a laser system to measure the countertops. When the counters arrived, they fit the space with amazing precision. The big box store measurements were off by several inches for the island. 3. Granite City had finished countertops delivered and installed in just over two weeks from measuring. The big box store promised 4 to 6 week delivery. 4. Granite City provided a long countertop with no seams. The big box store was going to have a seam in the middle of the major work space.

The installers were courteous. I thought they did a good job installing but not so good with the details such as the silicone to join the pieces. They did return to fix the silicone and a small chip.

Had a very good experience with Granite City - getting a countertop made for our master bath from a remnant. We went to several other granite places in the area and decided to go with Granite City. They did great work in a timely manner, were punctual, and courteous. We had the remnant held for longer than expected due to delays in our remodel but that was not an issue. Price was a bit high but it was a quartz countertop vs. granite, which is more expensive. Very happy with our experience and would do business here again.

The entire process from the first time we visited the showroom until final installation went very smoothly. -Jon at the showroom was very helpful and professional -they were very accomodating when scheduling the measurement and insatllation dates, working withing the timetable of our contractor -The individual doing the measuring showed up at our home right on schedule and was also professioanl and courteous . -A second measuring had to be done (no fault of Granite City) because end panels on the cabinets were missing during first measure. Granite City was able to accomodate the second measuring and still meet the original installation schedule! -On the day of installation, the crew showed up on time, again were very professional, did a quality job, and cleaned up after they were finished. We are pleased with the job that was done...good quality work at a very competitve price in a timely manner!

Description of Work: I contracted Silestone countertop for my kitchen and a Granite one for my breakfast/bar area. John was extremely help, not moving when choosing my selection, but there when I needed advice. He sent me to the Silestone supplier to make sure my choice is exactly what I wanted. It was not so I was able to switch style before installation. There was a mistake about the exact Granite slab I picked out. After installation they found the slab I had originally picked, constructed a new counter top, came back to take out the wrong one and install the one. I would definitely recommend Granite City for the outstanding price and service.

This was a great experience! We had previously used a different provider for some of the other bathrooms in our house (pick out a remnant piece of granite from a larger job). We tried to use that same vendor again but he had tripled his prices! We tried two other granite providers before finding Granite City and had poor experiences with both. Granite City was fantastic to deal with. They let me look through all of their remnants, tag the piece we wanted, they drew up the exact size and shape based on our need (vanity is partially up against the wall on one side so we needed them to finish that edge only to the point where the countertop would touch the wall). It's absolutely beautiful and the price was right. We will definitely go back to them when we are ready to do our kitchen in a year or two.
Description of Work: Made a new granite countertop for bathroom vanity including oval undermount sink and sink holes. We picked up the countertop and they loaded it into the back of our SUV for us to install on the vanity at home.

We went to their showroom, and were able to wander through all the granite slabs available freely (no pushy sales tactics!). We had on hand a drawing and rough square footage for our kitchen and were given a quote immediately, with the price broken down per square foot, any extras we wanted (edging, sink etc) shown separately. We were given samples of the granite that we were debating over and took them home to see which one would work for our design. They gave us the best price by far, and we decided to go for it. Granite City requires half the amount due up front, and then the remainder due after installation. We scheduled a date for measuring, the employee came on time and was pleasant. Two weeks later, our granite was ready to be installed! Again, the staff arrived on time, and first prepared the house for some demo, placing paper down on the floors, moving any furniture that may be in the way of the slab coming through, etc. They removed the laminate in no time, but our cabinets turned out not to be level after the removal, so before placing the granite, they resolved that issue. The granite slab came in in two pieces and was epoxied together (you can't even see the seam). After letting the epoxy dry for about 45 minutes, they resumed work and ensured that the edges were perfect. They cleaned everything, including sweeping and vacuuming the hardwood floor, and moved all the furniture back to its original position. We were told to call/visit the store to provide final payment, which we did. We highly recommend this company; the stone looks great, and we have no issues. Everyone we dealt with, especially the woman who owns the company is very friendly and knowledgable. If we ever need more granite, we will without a doubt, use this company again.
Description of Work: Replaced laminate counters in the kitchen (40 linear sq ft) with granite, also provided a deep sink.

I called around to several different granite shops in the area looking for a counter top for my bathroom vanity that was 37x22. I found the ad for Granite City in one of the money saver flyers that we get in the mail. The lady that I initially spoke with was very friendly and helpful. They had quite a decent selection of remnants to pick from. My salesman John was very attentive and helpful in helping me to pick the right color/pattern to match my tile sample I brought with me. Not only did they do a great job on the counter for me, but I was under a time crunch to get it and they had it ready in only 3 days for me. I thought the price was very affordable for what I purchased. It was $255 and that also included an under mount sink. Overall my experience with customer service and quality were excellent. I would definitely recommend Granite City.

Description of Work: Granite City was very helpful. My wife and I were having quite a time to choose the exact stone for our kitchen. Entela and the staff were very patient, stayed late to wait for us to get there on more than one occasion. The price was very competitive. The Install team came today and were very professional and it looks great. My only criticism is that there seems to be a lack of internal communication. The man who did the template was not aware he was supposed to be doing the bathroom. When team showed up today they were not aware they were supposed to be doing a tear out. The final price due after install was not adjusted correctly because we originally planned to buy the sink from Granite city but ended up buying it from somewhere else. The final invoice did not reflect that we were not find buying the sink so the installers were expecting a higher amount. All of these items were resolved quickly with a phone call but with a little better internal communication, could have been avoided. I do highly recommend Granite city just be sure that all the details are covered

It was a great experience! They had the best prices around town! My husband and I had looked at several places before stumbling upon Granite City Inc. The price, like I said, couldn't be beat! They came out and measured our counter space and made a template. The man was very friendly and professional. He explained exactly what he was going to do and where the seam would be within the counter. When it came to installing the counter tops, there was a wait of a few weeks. We are due to have a baby any day now, and the owner was very accommodating. He installed it on his day off on a Saturday to make sure we would have them installed before the baby came! They showed up on time and where very friendly and appropriate! The counter tops look amazing!!!
