Description of Work: Made a home visit and rebuilt support for rear leg on sofa, including removing and then replacing fabric. Did a great job, fully cleaned up mess (sawdust from cutting and drilling), explained what he was doing, and provided suggestions on cleaning solutions for fabric. Highly recommend!

Description of Work: Duncan responded to my Angie's List Request within an hour of posting. After explaining my needs, an appointment was set up within a week. Duncan went above and beyond what I asked him to do. He was able to repair and realign the doors on an entertainment unit that arrived damaged from another company. He also noticed a few problems with the finish of the the unit and promptly fixed these blemishes as well. Duncan provided an electronic bill to me so that I could easily submit it to the furniture company for reimbursement since they did not have anybody reliable to do the repairs for them. I added Grain Line Artistry to my contact list for future needs. I couldn't be happier with the service and workmanship.

 + -1 moreAfret laboring for about six hours Ducan called Lane Furniture and was told that the part we requested was no longer available and that we had been sent the "closest parts" In spite of working several hours with the incorrect parts, Duncan still attempted to make it right by following up with Lane Furniture. Then he was informed that the correct part was no longer available.
Description of Work: Duncan attempted to repair the reclining mechanism in our 25 year old reeling sofa. Twice we were sent the wrong parts by Lane Furniture.

 + -1 moreIt took many weeks to get the part but that was not Duncan's fault. The manufacturer guaranteed delivery, then failed to send the needed part. Duncan, and his wife, had to spend much time working to get the manufacturer to follow thru on their responsibilities. The repair was completed today and the chair looks great. Many service companies would have given up long ago with all the time it took to get this part. Duncan never gave up. It took almost 5 months and as soon as the part arrived, Duncan contacted me to come out and put it on. I am so please with his work that I will most definitely call him in the future any time I have such a need. I highly recommend him to all.
Description of Work: I have an expensive swivel leather chair in my husband's office that broke at the base and I wasn't sure if it was repairable. Duncan came out quickly and looked at it. He was able to identify the manufacturer and contacted them for the necessary part.

Parts had to be ordered and Duncan kept us informed the whole way. If you have any repairs needed for furniture , including leather, I would highly recommend Grain Line Artistry.

I needed the repair done on a tight schedule, and he was kind enough to rearrange some of this other appointments to accommodate my timing needs, and came to the house for the repair. He called before he arrived and was very punctual. He not only repaired the broken legs on an old wardrobe, but he touched up all the other nicks and dents on the piece. He worked very quickly, and the wardrobe looks absolutely fantastic. It looks worlds better than when we had purchased it. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for furniture repair.

 + -1 moreduncan, the owner came out to look at the job in mid may, he gave me an estimate and said he could do the job the first week in june. i called him at that time, he said he was on the road and would call me later, he never called, i called him again, no answer, i left a message to call me back, its been 2 weeks, no call back. i'm very dissapointed in angies list to reccomend this person.

 + -1 moreIt went fabulously. Duncan came in fixed it up, pretty quickly, I believe, fixed a couple other spots on the piece at no additional cost and was done within an hour. Everything looks great!!! Duncan did such an incredible job we have him scheduled to come back and fix several other wood pieces we have in the house. We're so excited we found him. I would highly recommend anyone with wood grab him up while they can.
Description of Work: Fixed the corner on a beloved cabinet that our puppy had chewed on and ruined, then painted it and matched it up perfectly.

 + -1 moreIt exceeded our expectations!!!!! Duncan was very professional, arrived on time and was very courteous by taking his shoes off and covering the carpet in the area of the repair. His work was top notch, he looked the furniture over, explained what he was going to do and answered any question we had before getting started. You cannnot tell the furniture was ever repaired and it looks better than before it was damaged. He was very knowledgeable and shared some great tips on how to care for our wood furniture. Duncan is very talented, a wealth of knowledge, and someone we highly recommend!
Description of Work: Duncan repaired broken legs on two dressers and repaired the finish on the front of the dresser that was damaged during carpet installation. He also fixed the corner of the dresser that was damaged during a move by rebuilding the corner and matching the finish. In addition he touched up any minor scratches and dents to make the dresser look almost new again! Its important to note that he fixed the corner of the dresser and touched up the scratches and dents proactively without us even asking and didn't charge extra for it!!!!

I was nervous to hire someone to repair the many spots of wood damage on several pieces of furniture we had throughout our house as it's quite new and we were worried about everything matching. However, the end results are perfect. The wood looks brand new and you cannot tell, even close up, that there are repairs. Duncan provided fast customer service to my questions and gave very reasonable estimates and time frames. Duncan was incredibly professional, prompt and courteous. He also gave several suggestions to other areas of interest that I'll be taking him up on for future use. I will absolutely be using Duncan's services again in the future. A+++++
