Honestly, the entire experience was easier than I would have thought. This was a 5 day install that was done in 4. They showed up on day 1 and filled my garage with equipment. By day 4, my garage was cleaner than they found it. I will call Crain Heating and Cooling every time I need work like this done on my home.

Company rep Cody and I started out exchanging some emails regarding what I was looking for, the size of my house, different AC & furnace models, etc. Then he came out and we walked around inside and outside the house to visualize how everything would be hooked up and where the AC unit would be located. He showed up on time, was very thorough, took measurements, and asked a lot of questions to make sure the proposed setup would be OK with me. I had gotten two other estimates and shared them with Cody. He was able to talk with his boss and get me a very good price on the equipment and install. His crew came out on time, on the scheduled day. They were knowledgable and worked efficiently. They were neat and cleaned up after themselves. They explained everything about the new equipment to me, and left me with a packet of information and contact numbers. Crain Heating & Cooling has an excellent reputation; and so far, in my experience, they have lived up to it. I would recommend them to anyone in the Detroit area.

Great. They were on-time, which seems like no one else is. Marlyn was super friendly and courteous. He made the whole appointment quick and easy.

Marlyn quickly found the problem - a sensor that was dirty and not sensing the flame and shutting the furnace down at times as part of the safety features. He cleaned the sensor and also recommended a change to one part of the furnace that I will be getting a quote on. I appreciated the explanation of what the problem was and the recommendation of additional work that will keep my furnace going during this cold part of the winter.

First when Mike came out he thought it was just a thermostat issues so he replaced it and it began working. when it stopped again he came back and found a crack in heating element. I needed a new furnace. He gave a me a GREAT price and credited the previous service call and parts to the price of the new furnace. They also gave me a discount for being an Angies List member. GREAT service and price. Would recommend to anyone!

Called Crain's for a second opinion after being told by another firm that my humidifier needed to be replaced at a cost of approx $500. Scheduling of service was efficient, and as promised I was called when the repairman was in transit to my house. He was prompt and very professional and best of all got my existing humidifier working for just the cost of the service call. Saved me several hundred dollars. I will definitely use them again for my heating and air conditioning needs.

From pretty much the moment I called this company, I was glad that I did. After our 16 year old furnace failed over the previous weekend, we had several companies out for estimates, and those estimates were very different, not just in price, but also what size furnace we'd need. Well, I reached out to Crain after scouring reviews from multiple sites, hoping I could find an affordable, knowledgable company that I could trust, and I'm so happy I did. When I called in and explained our situation to Jill (who was fabulous), she ended up putting me through to the owner, Jason. Jason talked thru things with me at length, and made time to come to our home that same day to take a look. He again patiently explained what we needed, and why, and gave us a fair price on a new Lennox system. We had a new system installed within 48 hours of that first call, and I'm so happy that we didn't settle with another company when we had too many unanswered questions. Really can't recommend Crain enough, for whatever HVAC need you might have.

He determined that the thermostat needed work and fixed it quickly. He called me with an analysis and it was done. Their office staff were very polite and didn't waste any time getting me taken care of. The tech took my credit card info over the phone and emailed me a receipt. Very pleased.

The entire crew was awesome. They were incredibly responsive and came when they said they would, all three times. They tried to fix the furnace with the most cost efficient option using a circuit board to begin with, but that didn't fully fix the problem and we needed a much more costly repair or a new furnace. Jason, Matt and Ed were prompt and thorough while servicing our old one and installing the new furnace (which we were not pressured into) and it was installed the next day! The furnace they installed is in the attic. They offered us a 5% discount or free financing for 18 months--both were good discounts. We would definitely use them again.

We had several companies bid on the job but this was the most professional bid. They itemized everything step by step so we knew the full scope of the job and they were competitive bids. They were professional and courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy and would recommend using this company. They were also the only company that pulled a permit for this work and they even caught an issue with our furnace that wasn't up to code and corrected it.
