Could not exactly match mortar color but I doubt if anyone could. Had to reschedule because their truck broke down. Quality and price of work is excellent

They were cheap and the guy that came out made it sound like they would do a good job. They made a mess of it. The acid washing was terrible and didn't resolve the problem. Their workmanship was poor and they were very unprofessional.

They never completed the flashing on the chimney. I told them I wouldn't pay them until the flashing was installed. They assured that it would not leak, and it did a short while after. They never got back with me on the job when I had issues and I would not recommend them or use them again.

Very efficient job. Friendly service.

Inspector was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, on time and through.

The salesman was always prompt. The time was a little long before the work was actually begun. The hearth and fireplace are beautiful. Arnie, the mason, spent a lot of time cutting and matching the stones. I am very happy with the results. The mantel looks much better than what I had but the finish work is not quite what I had hoped for. There were some issues along the way regarding color of the stones but the results definitely meet my expectations. I do feel that the mantel price more than it should have been.

Twice they came out to replace the thermal coupler, but both times got the unit working without actually replacing the coupler. Both times, the unit worked for only ONE day. Then they wanted to charge me to come out a THIRD time to replace the coupler that they were supposed to replace on the first and second visit. Don't think so. Tired of wasting my time and money for them to come out and NOT fix it.

While we are not planning on utilizing them for service - our initial contact was promising and pricing was consistent with other comparables in the area. The only reason we won't be contacting them for service is that we just required a written estimate to submit during a real estate transaction.

Arrived on time and excellent service. I would refer this company's individuals to others.

It took several attempts to finalize a time and date to have the work performed. Part of this was my fault, but part was the fault of the contact person at the business, who is also the person who performs the work. It seemed there was always an issue that caused my appointment to be pushed later and later in to the future. Once on site, the guy was fast and efficient, though. He also honored a coupon that had expired during the course of our appointment rescheduling. He did a thorough inspection of the fireplace and chimney, showing me what issues were pressing and what could be left for a later date. Overall, I was satisfied but I felt like he had to rush through my job to get to another.

Swept chimney and cleaned up mess. Made additional repair recommendations with a fair estimate on cost.

I first called Chimnee Cricket to quote a fireplace liner for my open fireplace. This was the fourth quote I received from various companies and all of them approached the price of a fireplace insert (which is much more efficient than a standard open fireplace). Their proposal for a medium-sized insert by Regency was competitive and I appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the salesman. Skipping to the installation portion of this project, I found the installer just as friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Installation was performed quickly and with quality. I'm very happy with the final product. Where I would have a complaint would only be in the communication in the interim between when I placed the deposit and the final installation. Communication was poor. I received no phone calls after paying 50% of the proposal price as a deposit. All-in-all, it took two months to get the product installed (though it was installed the same day after the final call). I constantly had to call Chimnee to get status updates (and always told that they're waiting for parts). If I knew from the start that that it would take a couple of months to receive all the required parts would've been helpful when trying to coordinate this installation with a corresponding living room remodel.

Never showed up which is very unprofessional.

I had them scheduled for Nov. 5th. I got a call from the technician/owner(?) that day asking to reschedule since his wife was sick. OK - fine...not convenient, but things come up. We rescheduled for 5pm on 11/19/12. I was able to take a little time off work so I was sure I was home for our appointment. I got home about 4:00. There was a message on the machine that came in at around 2pm from Chimney cricket saying that they were ready early and wanting to come out. I tried to call back at 4:20, 4:30 and 4:45. No answer. Fine, I figured I just see them at 5pm. I waited around.....no one came, no call, nothing. Maybe it was legitimate when they flaked out the first time, but to stand me up because they were done with their day early? I made the commitment to getting off work and being here on time for my appointment and it is completely unacceptable to be that unprofessional and disresctful of my time.

Christopher arrived on time, worked the whole time and has a terrific personality. He takes great pride in his work. Will recommend him.

I dont usually post on these kind of things but I had such a great experience i decided to utilize this site to let people know i am a female and im used to people trying to take advantage of me on such services since im not really sure what should or shouldnt be done, i knew my chimney was getting bad and i love to burn fires in it in the cold weather, anyhow my experience from the Person in the office to the guy who showed up at my house was great, i felt comfortable and like i could trust this company the whole time, i had to have half of my chimney rebuilt because my bricks were starting to fall down it was totally beautiful the work they did , i got to see before and after pictures and was explained why i needed what i did .. they finished the whole thing in a timely manner and i had the very best treatment possible.. Thank you Cerrito Chimney and Staff i will refer you to everyone i know and be calling you yearly for my chimney inspections and cleaning!! This place was the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! Julia ~

When made appointment was told would have a 20 point inspection of chimney and flues along with the cleaning of the chimney and check of gas logs also indicated glass fireplace doors would be cleaned. Price quoted was price paid. Because work all over area may not be able to meet scheduled time windows - see above. Worker was pleasant and helpful used tarp to cove area in house he worked in.

Use extreme caution when dealing with this guy. He will do anything to get money. He will do everything he can to get you to pay out of pocket before the work is done. He is supposed to give me a certificate of completion and he filled it out before the work was done, which goes against my insurance procedure. This if insurance fraud. He pressured me to to take huge short cuts on the work, which cost him less in payment to the sub contractor, but he expected me to charge my insurance company for the full amount of work that was supposed to be done to get a larger amount of money. I refused to pay out of pocket until the work was done. I demanded the full work to be done as arrange with the insurance company or I would not pay. He had his sub contractor come in and do part of the work and ordered that sub contractor to quite the job and go so that he can get full payment from me. When I checked the work and had it looked at by another contractor, the work was poor. I contacted him, gave him a chance to fix the problem and then he became hostile. I had to hire someone to come in and watch him and the sub contractor while they were in my house because I could not be there. This caused many delays. The entire time he was calling me and emailing me. I would not submit the certificate of completion until the job was done. The sub contractor came back and finished the work. He explained that he was ordered to leave the job and he was upset. I submitted the certification of completion when I thought the work was done, but realized I should not of sent it in because the work was terrible. He is threatening to put a lean on my house because I have not paid him. I have not yet received payment from the insurance company and he already knew that I would not pay him until i got the check.

They were supposed to show up last week and never came. They called at 7:30, when they were supposed to be out by 5:30. They promised service a few days later and cancelled because they said it was pouring down rain. It was barely sprinkling! Yesterday was the final straw. Another missed appointment with a garbled cell phone call that I couldn't understand. DO NOT HIRE!!

They were supposed to put a new chimney cap on the house in 2007. Last year, the chimney was leaking. We called another chimney repairman, who told us the work we paid for was never done. He said he fixes a lot of chimneys that were allegedly repaired by Chimney Cricket. I suppose I should have climbed on my roof to inspect Chimney Cricket's work. We ended up paying for the work twice. I should sue, but it's not worth my time in court.
