Chimney Cricket

Total service time was less than 30 minutes. The stove "clean-up" left debris and ashes in and around the stove area and on top of the stove. After sweeping the chimney top down, the technician left all ashes at the bottom of chimney. He did not open the service door to remove the debris. Scheduled time differed by one hour between dispatcher and service technician, needed to call a couple of time to clear confusion.

DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY! THEY OVER-BOOK THEIR TECHS AND THEN LIE ABOUT WHEN THEY'LL SHOW UP. I HAVE THE PHONE RECORDS TO PROVE MY STORY!

He always stayed in contact with us when he was going to be behind. He got things done pretty quickly. I liked what he did for us. We would use him again.

They were not going to continue to work till they got the additional money (my lawyer renegotiated & they finally went back to work without additional pay); work was done in a very disorganized manner (the leaking flat roof was not fixed until about 6 or 7 weeks!), crews changed frequently & there was no communication between them; while several of the workers did a good job (especially for the extremely poor pay they receive, between $7 and some cents and $10.99 as some of them told me) they were instructed by the owner to cut corners and one crew member was even instructed not to talk to me; relations between crews and owner were problematic (some of the workers told me that I'm being ripped off and that they did not get paid what they had agreed on with owner); very frequent hiring and firing of workers; examples of poor work: flat roof done twice and still leaking; bathroom floor done twice and still poor quality; worker was instructed to install drywall over old, wet plaster.

I think that they do not have very good communication skills. They did not call back when I left messages and I had to keep calling them. They were not professional at all and the price was okay. Overall, this company is not very good.

He arrived and quickly began work, taking time to answer a couple questions I had and explain possible solutions to me. He took some extra measurements for a chimney-top damper and said he'd have the office staff call me with an estimate. He was very polite and cleaned up everything when he was done. This is the second time we've used this company and will most likely continue using them.

They were professional, on time and had good recommendations for future work. He was clean, and knowledgeable.

They were very professional over the phone and gave us a quote of $100.00 on doing the work, but we decided that we would better prefer using someone else locally.

The repairman showed up when they said he would. He was courteous and did the job in a professional manner.

The damper and tuck-pointing were done quickly, along with the rim around the fireplace chimney. The chimney connected to the furnace took a few days. The weather played a part in this as the brickwork could only be done in half-way decent weather. The guys doing it were very professional and hardworking. They cleaned up all debris inside (the basement wall that had to be drilled out) and out. I would highly recommend this company!

He was very thorough and efficient. He put a tarp down in front of the fireplace and moved my furniture out of the way. Upon completion, he showed me exactly what needed to be replaced and gave me an estimate.

They attempted to repair the damper but due the age, but was not able to. They suggested a replacement damper system. They noticed the cap was missing on top of the chimney. They suggested a product to install. Overall; he did a great job, arrived on time, finished in a timely manner, and was not ''pushy'' for suggested products.

There was a strong smell of burnt wood in the home from heavy creosote buildup in the chimney. We asked for an additional ''chemical burn'', which our home inspector had recommended. Our home inspector said this process normally involved an overnight waiting period for the chemicals to work, but whatever process Chimnee Cricket used only took 20 minutes. And that's probably why the odor remained after they were done. I'm not really sure we got what we asked for. The guy who did the work wasn't very talkative.

THEY WERE AWESOME WITH THEIR JOB. THEY WERE VERY INFORMATIVE ABOUT THEIR WORK. THEY WERE CLEAN AND DIDN'T MAKE A MESS. THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS.

The service person came when promised to perform the work. On the inspection sheet he filled out, he indicated that the crown, flashing, and cap were all satisfactory, but he never went on the roof to inspect them. He also said the firebox needed tuckpointing and he could do the work while he was here for $450. I thought the price was way too high, but I agreed to have it done because the rep said it was unsafe. The vehicle the person was driving also left a large oil stain on my driveway. When the supervisor came out to inspect the work because I had called him about the price for the work performed, he said he saw the oil stain on my driveway and he promised to ''take care of it.'' He did nothing and left after saying that the work and price paid were normal. I will never hire this company again, especially since it cost me almost $260 per hour.

WE HAVE USED THEM FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. THEY PROVIDE A GOOD SERVICE FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. WHEN WE SET UP A DATE FOR THEM TO COME, THEY CALLED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE WOULD BE HOME. THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT CLEANING UP AFTER THEY WERE DONE.

THEY WERE A VERY GOOD COMPANY. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND THEY WERE VERY CLEAN. THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESS FOR US TO CLEAN UP. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO WOULD NEED THEIR CHIMNEY CLEANED.

THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY. I USED THEM BECAUSE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW LOVED THEM. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THEY WERE A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH, TOO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

I HIRED A CHIMNEY CRICKET TO COME OUT AND SWEEP MY CHIMNEY. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB. THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESS, THEY JUST BASICALLY CAME IN, DID WHAT THEY HAD TO DO, AND LEFT.

THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP ON TIME. THEY WERE NOT PROFESSIONAL. THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY WERE VERY ARROGANT. I HAD TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE WHO COULD ACTUALLY CLEAN THE CHIMNEY.

THIS COMPANY IS VERY EFFICIENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEN IT COMES TO CHIMNEYS. THEY KNEW WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO DO IT. WE WERE VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK AND HOW QUICKLY THEY PERFORMED IT.

THE MEN THAT CAME OUT TO OUR HOUSE WERE REALLY NICE. THEY WORKED HARD TO GET THE JOB DONE. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES WHEN THEY WERE DONE. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY.

I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR HONESTY. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CHIMNEY DID NOT NEED ANY CLEANING, BUT I HAD THEM DO IT ANYWAY. THEY WERE VERY NICE. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK. OVERALL I THINK THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST CHIMNEY CLEANING COMPANIES AROUND.

THEY ASKED IF I WANTED A DEODORIZER FOR THE CHIMNEY, I SAID YES, BUT THEY ENDED UP FORGETTING TO PUT IT IN. HOWEVER, THEY CAME THE NEXT DAY AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE NOT A BAD COMPANY, BUT THEY COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE BETTER.

I WAS NOT VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM AT ALL. THEY DIDN'T FINISH THE JOB THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. EVERY TIME I CALLED THEM TO COME FIX IT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO IT, BUT THEY STILL HAVEN'T.
