Description of Work: Called to schedule service. Said the techs would look at all the scheduled service calls for the day, then determine order of service visits, then call each person to advise when they would arrive to perform the repair. I would potentially be tied up most of the day waiting to find out first when they were scheduling me and when then they would come out to diagnose. There was no "guarantee" that work would be performed the same day - potentially causing me to lose another day's work. This was a deal breaker for me.

 + -1 moreWhen I called to schedule the appointment they suggested that I check a few things including the dryer vent and if I still had a problem, to call them back in the morning and they would send a technician out the same day. When I checked the vent, it was plugged...so.. it costs me nothing to fix it. I appreciated the kind suggestions from the group and it saved them a service call and me $$. I was so appreciative that I know who I will call when I have a REAL problem. thanks!

 + -1 moreEven though they couldn't verify my appointment via telephone (because I gave the wrong phone number - I just moved) they still showed up. They were very polite and professional. Even when I expressed my unhappiness at the cost they were nice. I had a home warranty and it didn't cover anything on the freezer.
Description of Work: Fixed broken freezer section of the fridge. Looked at the washing machine and determined he couldn't get parts for the 17 year old washer.

 + -1 moreAfter calling a few other repair companies who would not come out to my home, I called Appliance Doctor. They came the next day, pulled the built-in microwave out of the cabinet and checked a few different areas of the microwave. They quickly determined that the drawer was not making a good contact when it closed. An adjustment was made and, within 45 minutes of arrival, my microwave was functional again and they were on their way. Very knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to deal with.

Description of Work: We had a microwave that stopped working. It was part of a combo oven and micro wave and replacing the micro wave meant replacing both units. The doctor fixed the problem and it has been working fine. He was impressive. Highly recommended.

 + 0 moreFrom the time the tech arrived until his departure he was courteous, professional and went about his work in a timely and efficient manner. He cleaned up before he left. I selected this company because the owner is Joe Gagnon's "The Appliance Doctor" son and he has an experienced staff.
Description of Work: My Kenmore top load washer was making noise and then stopped completely with a partially washed load in it. I called the Appliance Doctor to come check the unit. The technician arrived on time and checked out the unit. He determined that the motor was defective and the coupler was starting to lock up. The technician did something I did not expect. He offered me a choice of using a new part at a cost of $200 or a used motor for $50. I chose the used motor as I plan to replace this washer in the near future with an energy efficient one. The technician replaced the coupler with a new part. The washer runs great now and I have had no further problems with this unit.
