The worker was fast and efficient and did a good job overall.

Shortly after I moved into my new home (Sept. 2002) the basement walls were cracked and leaking. My 1st home..I didn't know where to begin and was dismayed. I contacted at least 5 companies that I found in the phone book. Some didn't show up for their appt., other recommended a course of action that was clearly "overkill" and outrageously expensive, others were so disorganized and "laid back" that I had no confidence in them. Which led me to Affordable Dry Basement. Their representative was punctual, professionally dressed, clearly knowledgable about the problem and provided a suggested course of action and reasonable estimate with a lifetime guarantee! I booked the repair and was present, along with my father (a retired building contractor) to watch the work. The workmen were also prompt, professional, friendly, and expedient. They explained what they were doing and why. If they noticed anything else during the course of their work (like too large an opening around an outside pipe) they quickly plugged it up for me. In short, they went above and beyond, cleaned up perfectly, and I've never had another problem to this day. Who would have thought that repairing a leaky basement would have been such a pleasant experience? To this day I'm grateful that Affordable Dry Basement came to my rescue, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Their name says it all!

1. This was the only company I called that answered the phone (only one of the other companies even bothered to return the phone call). Their response was prompt and courteous and my appointment was scheduled immediately. 2. They came to give an estimate and could have "taken" me for a lot of money, but they were very honest and recommended services their company does not handle. If, in the future, I need foundation work, they will be who I call.

My aunt purchased a home whose basement has water problems that were neither disclosed by the seller nor caught by the inspector. I checked several sources on Angie's List and made an appointment with Affordable Dry Basement to get an estimate to solve the problem. Mr. Ciccarelli came out to give us an estimate within several days our initial contact. We had an idea of what we thought would be needed to solve the problem, however he recommended a different approach that would be less costly and likely be more successful. Although we received several other estimates, his style of giving the estimate put my aunt at ease, and so we went with his company. They were able to schedule the work within a couple of weeks of our accepting his offer. The crew started right on time, and were very professional about their work... polite, organized, clean, and unobtrusive. The completed work looks well thought out, and the crew made sure there was nothing to clean up afterward, despite needing to haul gravel and move dirt around inside the basement. As the work was just completed yesterday, I cannot speak to the effectiveness of their setup. Their work came with a lifetime guarantee, and they said they would come out and make any adjustments necessary if problems arrise. Overall my aunt and I are very pleased with how they went about their business, and plan to have them do some other work.

I spent about $4700. I had water in the basement for many years. Four companies were recommended to me. I called them all and looked at their results. I brought them all in and got quotes. It was interesting because two types of solutions. Two companies wanted to do one way and two other companies wanted it done the other way. The guy from this company, and also the owner, came in $3000 cheaper than the highest bid. He came and looked at the ceiling. He came without any measurement tape. He just looked around and told me the height. The guy and the team came out on time. They said it would take two days and they stuck to it. They worked really hard. In the last year, I have had no water in my basement. They put in a French drain. They dug up the concrete by the wall, by the foundation all the way to around the basement. They put in a new drain and cemented over it. As far as I was concerned, they worked really hard and got the job done in two days. So far, it has worked. I will use them again if required.

Oscar came and evaluated our water damaged basement. He removed some dry wall and found two cracks in the wall and many rod holes. We received an estimate in the mail 2-3 days later. We then scheduled the repair. Oscar was prompt. Made all repairs. He showed us how he was repairing the holes and cracks. He cleaned up when he was done. Very quick and professional. We have had several heavy rain days without problems with water leaking into the basement.

I really liked Ben the minute I met him! I had interviewed 6 other companies. He was very educating and really explained things well! The guys showed up on time and on the date promised...I was a little bummed that Ben did not come-but he sent his crew who did a great job. I gave a C for professionalism because the workers left empty pop bottles lying around and one guy broke part of my step going downstiars. Those are minor things that I did bring to the owners attention and I believe those things won't happen again! I am very very happy overall!!!

Had to call them in to make a repair on a job they did 10 years ago. They were very good at honoring the lifetime warranty I had and there was no charge. They pointed out what they had done on the original job and why it was leaking now. They explained in great detail the new fix and how it would correct current problem. They repaired the new leak on another wall rod hole and explained the whole process while I watched. I gave them a "B" overall because it was after all a warranty issue.

They were clean and did a very good job. Their pricing was very good as well. They were also professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work was very good and I was satisfied with their service.

Ben was great - knew from the beginning that he is very honest in his work. His crew did a great job - very nice people to work with. The finished work looks great but truly we won't know how it will hold up until next spring (during the time the basement normally has flooding issues). Hopefully I will remember to update this at that time!

Mr. Ciccarelli arrived early and was already examining the exterior when I arrived. When we got into the basement, he acknowledged that it wasn't really a candidate for living space and didn't suggest finishing it. He noted some simple things that could be done to control moisture that ought to be done anyway (e.g. gutters). He suggested that to support the floor above, I could purchase some inexpensive stantions from a home improvement store that I could install myself. Finally, at my request, he gave me a ballpark estimate on installing drain tile. He was very efficient and courteous to me and my real estate agent, and did not seem fazed by coming all the way out to Ypsi just to not really recommend any work. If I did need work done in the future, I would certainly come to him first.

They came out promptly to assess the repairs to be done. They came on time to do the work. They were here about 2 hours. They were very tidy. Apologized for the noise they had to make. I was given a transferable lifetime guarantee for the crack repair and a 15 year guarantee for the rod hole repair.

Servicemen came on time and finished job in the time they said they would take. I put 'fair' for quality because the crack started leaking again a few days after they filled it (they injected material into the crack) I called the company and they re-filled the crack without any problems. No leaks so far however it's winter time now, we'll see what happens in the spring. The person answering the phones was not friendly or apologetic when I called to say the crack was leaking again (does this mean it happens a lot??)

We had been getting water trickling in at one end of our basement for some time. I finally called Ben at Affordable Dry Basement and he came right out and gave me an estimate and explained how they would fix it. The crew came about three weeks later and did the work. It took most of the day, but by mid-afternoon they were finished. They were polite and friendly and kept working until the job was done. Our dogs liked them, so that was a good sign, too! So far, we've had one really heavy rain that lasted a day and a half. It came while we had a lot of snow on the ground, so that was an even better test. Nothing leaked where they had repaired it, but we did get water in on the other side of the house. I now need to call Ben again to fix the new problem.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the job.

I thought that this crew did a good job. They did the entire job in a day's time. They cleaned up after themselves. The only thing, is that it has not rained all summer, so I don't know how successful they were. So far, so good.

I called Affordable and they gave me an estimate and gave me their Angie's List discount (I think it was 5%). We arranged a date for them to come out and do the work. The very next day I received in the mail a confirmation of the appointment and the cost estimate. The serviceman arrived at the appointed time. He taped a plastic sheet below the crack as a drop cloth, which made for minimum clean up. I think it took just about an hour for the serviceman to perform the work. The bill was exactly as estimated. I was provided with a lifetime warranty (transferable). I didn't want to write the review until we had had a few good rains. I can report that the wall is no longer leaking. Yippee!

The owner/manager, Ben was knowledgeable and professional in estimating the job. He was never seen or heard from again once he had the order. The crew doing the work was just OK. Their biggest shortcoming was not communicating with us regarding what they found and what they were doing about it. Their site restoration and cleanup was first rate. What was absent was Ben's failure to keep us informed and involved throughout the process. It's too soon to judge results but I think they will be OK.

Affordable was the second company we contacted. The first tried to convince us we needed an $11,000 (good only for that day) interior repair. Affordable looked at the entire basement and said that only the one area needed repair. They did the job within a week of the estimate and provided a lifetime, transferable guarantee. It is too recent to know if this is the solution to our problem.

We were really glad to hear that this was a quick fix and not extensive. They came right out and replaced the rods and also drilled in some new trench drains. This did the job perfectly and our basement has been dry ever since. They are very respectful, punctual and clean. I do not have a problem recommending them and will use them again.

They did a good job. My basement is dry. They gave me a warranty. They said they'd be here at 9:00 and they were here promptly. The salesperson who came out to give me the estimate drew me a diagram of the work that they were going to do and told me to call them if I had any questions about the work. My basement is finished, and they were very careful not to damage any tile or paneling that they didn't need to. They smoothed out the cement, and I just have to put down a few tiles where they worked, but they smoothed the cement out so well that it looks good, even without the tiles.

EXCELLENT! From the day they came out to give us an estimate to the morning they did the work. Affordable Dry Basement was on time, professional, and did the work quickly. They made follow up calls to remind us of our appointments and during the job, made it a point to show us how they were repairing the holes and why. They were honest and a pleasure to deal with, from day 1. And the entire job took maybe a half hour at most, for a ton of rod hole repairs.

Neat and on time. After they left on the margins of the basement where they worked I had a serious dusting problem with the cement they installed. They came out and fixed it for no additional charge. They also explained the reason why it happened. The estimate was prompt. They left our house as clean as it was when they arrived.
