Affordable Dry Basement

Affordable Dry Basement was very attentive to our needs. I called for an estimate and they sent someone out within the week to assess our situation and give us a quote for the job. We looked at several other companies and for basically the same amount of work, they were about $2000-3000 cheaper. We were told there would be a 2-3 week wait time to start the job but when I called to confirm that we wanted the work done they actually had an opening to start it sooner. They showed up on time to begin the work. Since we weren't living in the home we gave them a key and they performed the work as their schedule allowed. The work was completed within about a week and a half, it was good quality work and everyone was extremely professional. The only complaint we had was a delay in the completion because of problems with building permits. They don't routinely pull permits when they perform work. I was told that they only do it if the customer asks. Our city inspector caught them doing work without and we then had to go through the process delaying the completion of the project. We were not told any of this until after the fact. It costs a little bit more to get the permits, but I would recommend that everyone does it. Overall, we were impressed with the experience and would consider them for future projects.

Repaired a leak under two basement windows. Tried from outside first which took care on the one leak, but had to do the other from inside a few weeks later. Problem solved. No leaks whatsoever. We had them out a few years before for a leak in the basement wall both at the chimney and at a basement corner along our driveway. Both problems solved with no leaks since then. Well worth the money.

They were on time, cleaned up after themselves, and all at a good price. Basement does not feel as damp as before, but won't know if it worked until we get a lot rain or snow melt.

Both the person who provided us the estimate(Ben?) and the person who repaired the cracks(George) arrived promptly at their appointed times. I watched George repair the cracks- he worked hard and patiently answered my questions about what he was doing.The repair is not very noticeable. My impression is that the repair was done well/correctly although the real test will be our next heavy rain.

They arrived on time. They were courteous and professional. The performed the job in about one hour. They cleaned up after their work. They filled the crack with the appropriate material and attempted to blend it with the existing wall. They quoted $375 on the phone and that was what I was charged. They even filled in a few extra plug holes for me at no extra charge. Very happy with their services.

This past week we have had a huge amount of rain fall and I noticed water was seeping through some cracks in my basement. Honestly I was scared to even call someone in fear of what they would find wrong but I knew I had to because it was the foundation. I used Angie’s list and found Affordable Dry Basements so I called and explained my problem and Ben Ciccarelli came out to my home the next day to see what was going on. Ben went around my yard and basement with me explaining where the cracks came from and answering all of my questions. Ben explained to me my problem was with my yard slanting downhill into my house and when it rained water just accumulated and that is why it was coming through. Ben explained to me that my basement walls were not in jeopardy because of these small leaks and that I could even caulk the cracks up myself. And even though I didn’t need any work done right now I would definitely recommend Ben at Affordable Dry Basements because he was honest, professional, knowledgeable and nice and I really appreciate that.

Ben asked if I was handy, and everything he described to do was something I was able to do, so that is what is going to happen. Seemed very honest and friendly, and came all the way out to my house just to give me the advice for free. Maybe the job was too small for him to bring out the crew; honestly it is a pretty small job. Anyway, he was great to deal with.

Our sales rep Brian came out on Saturday to meet with us and deliver the quote. A couple weeks later (we needed time to remove items from the basement to clear the work area) Chuck and his team arrived at 9:00 am sharp as promised and began working. The team was happy to answer and explain in detail any questions I had regarding the work being performed. In the afternoon of the first day Brian stopped by to check in and see if we had any questions/ concerns. At the end of the day the team tidyed up the basement. The following morning they returned at the time promised and completed the work in the afternoon, again cleaning up all and any mess they had made. Good teamwork, great company!

They did a very good job and were punctual, polite and cleaned up afterward. We did have to sweep up a lot of dust and wash down the floor and all the tables in the area, but that was to be expected. I would recommend them. It was not cheap, but their pricing was competitive.

The cracks were filled on December 19th. Upon arriving home on December 20th, I noticed that one of the areas that they filled developed an even greater crack and the water leakage was even more severe than before the and quot;fix.and quot; Water now leaks freely through the crack and pools on the basement floor. I called Ben at 6PM on December 20th. I did not receive a return call until 1PM the following day indicating that someone would return to fix the crack on either December 22nd or 23rd. However, we never heard back from him. Over the course of the next two days, I left 5 messages for Ben requesting to know when someone would come to fix the cracks. He never returned any of our phone calls. Obviously, when we realized that the company would not honor it's warranty policy (and possibly caused additional damage to the foundation), we stopped payment.

Ben was one of the most honest contractors I've met. He said before he tried anything, he wanted me to have a gutter installed, brick work repaired, and he showed me how to test to see where the water might be coming from. He didn't ask for a dime! I solved the problem, but if you need a basement water propblem fix I can attest to his integrity, honesty, and knowledge.

The estimate was honored even though the stated time period had expired. An additional crack was found after the estimator left and I removed the dry wall as he recommended. The workers were on time and cleaned up the work site.

They were absolutely horrible. They were very unprofessional and didn't do anything they said they were going to do. They were late every day. I would never use them again. They were supposed to come back and put a sealant on the walls, but no one ever came back.

It initially didn't seal the crack completely. They came back out and had to inject more material. Both times, their service man was on time and did the work. They provide a guarantee on their work and happily came back out to complete the filling of the crack. Because they were drilling and injecting the urethane material into the crack, we knew that it may have to be done a second time. They provided us with a lifetime guarantee after the first visit. They were very professional and we've had no leaks since they completed the work.

Workers arrived on time, completed job by the end of the day. They did a great job and clean-up of the site was excellent. .....and we've had no leaks since that time.

The experience was good. They came when they said they were going to be here and they were courteous. They did the job well and cleaned up after themselves. I was real pleased with them. This is the second time I've used them for different leaks.

A small amount of water would leak into a corner during very heavy downpours. I called Affordable Dry Basement and the owner, Ben, came over within a few days. He thought the leak may be coming from behind the bathroom wall. However, he suggested that we remove the wall behind the closet first to make sure that the water wasn't coming from that area before taking out the drywall in our bathroom. I waited for a year, and then made an appointment for work. The team was on time, polite and explained the process. The crack was located and repaired. The team cleaned up after themselves and were very unobtrusive. Since the work was only completed today, I don't know if the problem is resolved, but I have confidence in their work. They provided a life time guarantee on their work.

To say I was unhappy with their work would be an understatement. my basement leaked soon after they supposedly waterproofed it, I had an extremely had time getting them to honor their warranty. I eventually had to call a lawyer. They tore up my basement walls trying to find the source of the leak and tried to tell me it was my responsibility to repair the damage they did. After the lawyer got ahold of them, they eventually put up these cheap, ugly plastic sheaths that are supposed to deflect water into the drainage system. They work but I don't like them. I would never use them again and would not recomend them

Went very well. In and out quickly. Cleaned up after themselves. Courteous to staff that were working. Was very honest with me when initially came to look at the cracks.

They looked at what I needed done and chose not to give a bid. It was a very minor cosmetic work. They followed up with some additional information for me. They called me back right away and were on time.
