Korean and Earl have the best sales. The most recent by appointment sale was very professional, all safety precautions exceeded requirements, items were well priced and had plenty of hand sanitizer. They always go above and beyond. The best of best!

It was a pleasure to work with Koreen and Earl. They know their business. They received permits, when necessary, set up signs in the area, advertised in the paper and on-line. They have a good following. In two days, they sold most of our items. They also made arrangements for a charity to pickup the remainder of the items. The sale netted more than I had hoped. The items that weren't sold were removed and taken to a resale shop. The house was clean when they left. All I had to do was vacuum! This service was a tremendous help to us.
Description of Work: I needed to clean out my parent's house prior to selling it. They went through the house are organized all items for sale and removed any trash and items that would not be sold. I was in the house prior to the sale and was pleasantly surprised at how nicely the items were laid out. Very professionally done.

From start to finish, it was a positive experience. My husband and I received numerous comments from neighbors on how well the sale was handled, and how professional and friendly Koreen and her staff were. The sale ran two days, and then what was left we were able to donate to charity (which Koreen and staff also took care of). In addition, Koreen is placing some more valuable pieces up for auction which (hopefully) will fetch a better return. They were such a godsend, and it took a great deal of stress off our shoulders. However you want your sale handled, Koreen and her staff will work with you to achieve your goal. I highly recommend them to anyone contemplating an estate sale. GREAT JOB!
Description of Work: Handled the sale of my late aunt's household goods. Also boxed, and hauled away the items that did not sell (which were donated to charity).

Koreen and Earl were very professional and courteous, willing to work with us to help us downsize as we moved. They got good prices for our items (we let them advise us on the prices, and they seemed fair to us). Koreen always responded to any phone call or email promptly. It was a pleasure working with them.
Description of Work: We worked with Koreen and Earl (Gene's niece and her husband) who brought in buyers for some of our items, since we didn't have time for a full sale. It was a very effective way for us to get some money for our unwanted items, and move things out of the house as we prepared the house for sale, and then to dispose of items we didn't want to move.

Great to work with. My in-laws' house was full of furniture and items accumulated over the years. They came in and organized everything for a very smooth sale. Very professional and overall, a great experience. My wife and my mother-in-law were very happy with their decision to use Gene and Koreen. It was a very successful Estate Sale.

Description of Work: I needed to clear out my parent's house and I needed help. Gene and Norb met me at the house and quickly evaluated the situation. We set up a date for the sale and Gene contacted me 3 weeks prior to the sale to get the key to start the setup. Within a couple of days, the house had started to look like an estate sale. Gene and Norb worked quickly and were very professional. Their experience allowed them to price articles quickly. When I had questions, Gene was always available to answer them. The sale netted more money than I had hoped, and the house was left clean and empty. I am very happy I used their services.

Fantastic, these guys did everything in a professional manner and did all they said they would. We did all this on a handshake and I trusted them completely. They did offer a contract If I wanted, did not feel it was necessary. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. I had another Estate sale company out to a**** possibility of sale, but she said there was not enough for her to bother with. She then offered to hook me up with some one who would help me liquidate all my Dads things, but never followed up or called me back. Again….these guys are fantastic!!!!!!!

It was a very successful Estate Sale. They are very professional in all phases of their business from the initial meeting where they explained the process. They were very efficient in advertising the sale. They were fair and competitive in pricing the merchandise. The setup and display on the two days of the sale was extremely appealing. They conducted the sale and did the final cleanup in a very timely manner.

They were OUTSTANDING. Great to work with. My In Law's house was full of a lot of stuff. They came in and organized everything for a very smooth sale. I was impressed. Gene is a person of his word, they did exactly what they said they would do (even more than I expected). I had no idea how we were going to empty out the house. They weeded out the junk and sold at least 90% of the items at the sale. Very Professional. After interviewing five different Estate Companies, we decided to go with Gene. I am very happy we did. We received more cash than we were expecting. Overall it was a Great Experience. I cannot express how happy my Wife and myself are with our decision to use Gene. Thanks

They were professional, prompt, thorough and friendly. They explained their service at our first meeting and did everything they said they would do and more. They advertised the sale on their website and used strategically placed signs on the days of the sale. Their setup and display of my mother's things was very professional. The sale was handled extremely well and I am very satisfied with the results. The cleanup and removal of unsold items was very thorough and exceeded my expectations. Finally, they keep great records and the final financial payments were handled quickly and professionally.
Description of Work: They provided estate sale services for my mother's home and garage furniture, collectables, picture/wall decorations, clothing, tools and a variety of other items.

Met with Gene on May 27th at my home, initially my sale date was scheduled for the 18th and 19th of July, I called Gene 2 days later to move up my sale and scheduled for the 12 and 13th of July 2013, Gene stated that would work he had nothing booked for this date. , I spoke with Gene again on June 27 2013, he stated the set up for the sale would start on Monday July 1st. I called Gene at 6:30 am on July 1st to verify his arrival time he than stated he did not add my sale date to his books and has another sale booked for the same day, My sale had been booked for over a month, possible a bigger sale became available to him? and I was left to scramble to find someone who could still hold the sale on the scheduled date since I'm moving out of state on the 15th.. I would NOT recommend this company, he does not sign a contract with you, taking him on his word was worthless. A estate sale is a hectic time for the seller and to have to deal with an incompetent Estate sellers is the last thing anyone needs.

There are two central issues here but [member name removed] only wants to mention one of them. The sale dates are her main complaints, but the fact that she planned to continue living the house when we were setting it up and conducting the sale is also at issue. When I first met [member name removed] we agreed that her sale would occur on July 19 & 20, 2013. At that initial meeting I explained to her that we do NOT conduct estate sales while someone is living in the house. Apparently [member name removed] did not hear that part of our conversation because (as it turned out) she planned to be living in the house until AFTER the sale but told me at our initial meeting that she would make other arrangements. Also, [member name removed] took it upon herself to change the original date of our sale without confirming with me a change of dates. She called me while I was working on someone else's sale and told me she needed to change the dates of her sale to July 12 & 13, 2013. I told her I would check my calendar when got home. My schedule is very full and once I have a sale confirmed for a certain date it is hard to change it. I forgot to call her back that day, but not long after I got an email from her telling me about our sale scheduled for July 12 & 13, 2013. I called her and told her our sale is for the 19 & 20 of July but she didn't like that because it didn't fit HER revised schedule. As most of my many satisfied customers know, the size of the sale has little to do with how or when I schedule them. However, there are certain rules that I abide by, and I ask my clients to abide by them as well. Someone living in the home while we are setting up or conducting the sale does NOT work very well for me or any other estate sale provider. It saddens me that [member name removed] feels the way she does. In our last conversation I explained to her that I had another sale scheduled for July 12 & 13 and she got mad and hung up on me and that's the last I heard from her. There have been many instances where my clients and I have changed the dates of sales and many times that works out quite well. Sometimes it does not. I schedule the sale dates (usually) at our first meeting and normally everything works out fine, as scheduled. [member name removed] wanted to change her scheduled sale dates and I was not able to do that. And with her living in the house I would not be able to set up her sale anyway.

Gene and Norm did the setup of all of the goods designed for sale either on tables or in situ. I used one bedroom for those items I will be taking with me, which they locked up after adding some items.. They even removed a low-hanging light so that people would not be hitting it with their heads and would have full access to their table below. They priced every item, using a great deal of experience I don't have to get me fair value for my possessions. I could not have asked for a better sale; when I returned from my trip to NC to find my retirement landing spot I walked into an almost completely denuded environment, including the garage. I knew there would be unsold items, but had no idea there would be so few. The sale was Friday and Saturday, I received a full accounting, with sales slips, Sunday morning. True professionals.
Description of Work: I interviewed three estate sales companies before I chose Gene and Melissa LaLonde, one of which told me I didn't qualify for the $8,000 lower limit. Gene explained all the steps, and he and his partner Norm did exactly what they said they would do, in spades. They conducted a super sale for me; the only things left were truly not worth bothering with and will gladly be donated to a great charity they use for just this purpose. If you need to have a sale of this magnitude, this is the place to call. I couldn't be more pleased.

From start to finish I was very pleased with their service (including the dollar amount that the sale rendered). If anyone is looking for someone to conduct their estate sale, give them a call. I found them to be friendly, honest and hard working professionals.
Description of Work: An estate sale was conducted by Gene and Melissa LaLonde at 9964 Fox, Allen Park, Michigan on Feb. 1st and 2nd of 2013. Met with them a couple of weeks earlier to have them view the estate and set up the date for the sale. They cleared out all trash and started to set up and organized all items in the house, including the basement and garage. Priced all items. They arranged furniture and other household items in a sell-able fashion and kept all rooms clean. Set up their tables for displaying items and their lighting to take pictures. Tablecloths were placed on their long tables in the living room that helped display items nicely. The pictures were displayed on their web site with date and time of sale. Newspaper advertising was done as well and many signs were placed to direct customers to the home on the dates of the sale. The sale was conducted as planned. Remaining items were donated according to my request. Carpeting vacuumed and rooms were left empty.

Selling the house my Mother lived in for 61 years was very stressful, but the Estate Sale was the smoothest part. Gene LaLonde was recommended by the Real Estate Agent. The Agent recommended that we have the Estate Sale first, and then sell the house "empty". Gene and Norm came out the next day to check the house and we scheduled the estate sale for the next available weekend, which was about a month from then. We cleaned and purged the house to a point where it was it was looking pretty good, and decided to try to sell the house furnished instead of "empty". We cancelled the estate sale and said we'd reschedule it after the house sold. I felt bad that we cancelled only a week away and he wasn't able to fill our weekend, and lost income for that week. He seemed fine with it and said to give him a call when we're ready. When an offer on the house was accepted, I let him know that I'd be contacting him in the near future to schedule the estate sale. Because there were so many ways that the house sale could fall through, I didn't want to have the estate sale too early, and then run the risk of putting an empty house back on the market. There was a point that the Real Estate Agent thought things looked safe enough to schedule the sale while we waited for the Buyer's mortgage to be approved. I scheduled the estate sale for three weeks away. Sure enough, the mortgage approval wasn't progressing as hoped. By this point, I did NOT want to have the estate sale until the mortgage was officially approved. Gene was very gracious and calm during this stressful time for me. I was ready to cancel the estate sale AGAIN, but at the last minute, the mortgage was approved - and the estate sale was a go. I was amazed how quickly and nicely Gene and Norm set up and priced everything. Things not sellable or donate-able were put in garbage bags and taken to the curb for trash pickup. Items were moved to different locations in the house and garage so they presented better (my back aches just thinking about it). The website was updated with a description and pictures of two floors, a basement, and a garage worth of items for sale. Wow - there sure was a lot of people that came. Most of the items sold. Most of what didn't was donated (they did this on their day off so the buyers could move in earlier). The little bit left was bagged and taken to the curb for trash pickup. There was a written receipt for each sale, and a nice one-page summary. This was my first estate sale. Because of the first cancellation and the strong possibility of a second cancellation, I was probably what you would call a "difficult" client. These guys were great and went beyond the call of duty. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
