I call this company about an excessive amount of sediment in my filters. Over the phone Stacey stated that it was probably due to rotted galvanized fittings they installed 25 years ago and need to be switched out with brass. I said ok, what does that typically run and she said about $450 and I can have them out tomorrow or possibly same day and I agreed. When Tim and James showed up, Tim say's, I hear you do not have water. I corrected him and told him my issues, as we have water and is running as it should. We went to the tank and filters and he said everything seems fine and working as it should. I once again mentioned the excessive sediment in the filter. He stated that they could do a flush and it may help. I asked what that would run and he said about 1.5 of labor plus material. I agreed as it was less than the $450 over the phone. After about 30-45 minutes they could not get the pump out of the well. Tim stated that they do not usually see this but there maybe a screen attached and it is getting caught. So after getting the pump stuck they decided to finally get the well records to see if there is a screen attached. I told him to forget about it and to just put everything back, he stated that he can't do that as they got it stuck and will need to go get the bigger truck to get it out and a chainsaw to cut out my bushes. I asked what that will do and he said need to remove bushes to get to well and the truck will pull the pump out and that the cost was obviously going up a little. (Not that fetching the truck is a $500 fee). I said that I would cut the bushes myself as I do not want to be charged for demolition of my property. Once they got the truck and got the pump out, came to me to recommend a new pump($1875 + new pipe + new wire) Over $3k quote for what was supposed to be a simple service. I opted out of the new pump as the old one worked just fine and he recommended that they at least change pipe and wire or the next time would run into same issue. I agreed to new pipe and wire. ($400-$450) in additional material. They completed the work after I left the home and dropped an invoice with my mother for $1257! Well records are available to the public and yet this wasn't pulled until there was a complication/issue. If this would have been pulled before hand you would have know there was a screen installed and wouldn't have kept yanking on it and get it stuck. Then proceed to go get a larger truck and not tell the customer that it will cost them $500 just for that alone. Find yourself a well company that will do what is best for the customer and not their bank account.

I asked for an estimate and/or diagnosis of a well problem. I was charged 75 dollars for the estimate because I live in Farmington Hills and it was a far drive for the estimator to come. it seemed like an inconvenience for him to solicit my business. Keep in mind I called and asked for his company to be hired to do my replacement. In the consumer repair business it is highly unethical to charge for an estimate. I paid it and had every intention of hiring this company. However something told me to get one more estimate. I did It was 500.00 Cheaper and no estimate charge and the project went fabulous. I would never refer Metamora Water because of this highly unusual tactic of hidden estimate charging. Beware! 75 bucks out the window.

I called and they were able to fit me in the same day. Percy came to my home and was wonderful. He was professional, diagnosed the problem immediately, and promptly fixed the issue. He was here for more than two hours and had to pull the pump up from the 5" well. I was holding my breath the entire time waiting for the final price. $380 was a great bargain. I will use them anytime, and would recommend this company.
Description of Work: Repair to water well pump. The main water line from my well pump to my home corroded at the fitting and broke at the fitting down in my well. They repaired the break.

It started fine Percy came and gave us an estimate to fix a farm hydrant. after i called the next day to schedule the service they kept promising to come and fix it, but no one ever came and they had excuse after excuse why they couldn't come. I understand emergency situations but a call would have been nice, but nothing I always had to call them. The lady in the office is extremely rude also. I got so frustrated from dealing with her and the lack of respect and customer service I cancelled on them and am calling other companies.

Response from Metamora Water Service
Yes [Member Name Removed] did have us come out to give an estimate. We gave her an estimate and she told our tech, myself, and owner there was always somebody home to come when possible. We told her we would call on the day we were coming out. She kept calling . Then the day we were coming out nobody was to be home, so we left it opened again to when we didn't have emergencies. The day she called she was the very RUDE one , I explained to her that we had a family without water and they come first over a hydrant. Her comment back to me was I don' t have water either. I explained to her that she does have water in her home just not at a hydrant. She got very irritated and told us don't bother. I am sorry that this situation has happened but we cannot control emergencies over a non emergency.

Metamora water service had someone had my home quickly. They were efficient, told me exactly what the problem was and they would stay until it was resolved. It was extremely cold snowy and late in the afternoon. Metamora made sure the pipe was repaired and the rest of the well was working perfectly. They did a great job and my husband and I were very pleased with their work.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in the pipe coming from my well which had stopped any water from getting to the house.

Went easily. The woman who answered the phone was very detailed in the quote which left me feeling it was standard pricing. I received another quote from another provider which was just an overall price, which was close to the quote from them, but had no details of what I was paying for. They were easy to organize payment with, the guys working here were not pushy, worked efficiently and they were prompt. The guys who worked in my house also made alot of effort to protect my carpeting and they cleaned up their mess when they were finished.
