Elling Tree Farm

We have used Elling Tree Farm for the past three to four years. And we keep going back! The nursery stock is EXCELLENT.Planting crews arrived on time, well equipped and courteous. Clean up was thorough and complete. We'll use Elling again!

When we visited Elling Tree Farm, Mr. Elling was very helpful in recommending the type of trees to put in our yard. He took us around the farm and showed us different types of trees and we ended up going with his suggestion of Sugar Maples. The only way to access our back yard was to use the neighbors driveway, which they were kind enough to allow. When he was finished installing the trees he took some of his Maple Syrup, which he produces and is delicious, to the neighbors as a thank you. Our overall experience was extremely good and Mr. Elling was a very nice gentleman to work with. Love his maple syrup!

Absolutely excellent! Got good price for trees and transplanting, purchased Saturday afternoon, Brad Elling and his crew were at my house (50 miles away) at 10:00 Monday morning. He also included one year guarantee. I will go back for any future tree purchases.

The experience of choosing a tree was really interesting and educational. Brad Elling spent time with us to not only choose a tree, but to see his beautiful property. We went out to see his inventory on golf carts. There are several aspects to his company and land to share if you would like to hear about it. He never once made us feel rushed, even though it was the end of his work day. He also spent a great deal of time helping us pick just the right spot for the tree to be planted and was patient with us as we were figuring it out. I learned more than I thought I would during this whole process. He is clearly very knowledgeable about what he does and seems to really enjoy it. I would highly recommend him, especially for any large tree purchases (ours is approx. 25 feet tall)

Brian Elling and his crew arrived on time and promptly started working to move my 15' tall Lotus tree. Brian also moved a very large boulder at my request to make room for the transplanted tree. Upon moving the tree and placing it in the new location, Brian was careful to insure that the tree was standing as straight as was possible. I would recommend Elling Tree Farm to my friends and family.

He not only took the time to personal give me a tour of their property, showing me the trees they offer, he also hand delivered and planted them the very next day. They look amazing!

We went to the farm chose the tree and made a plan for delivery and planting. So nice, honest about conditions and what to expect-a very pleasant visit. All employees we spoke to today were all friendly and kind!

Mr. Elling and his assistant were here when they said they would be. We had picked the spot in the yard and they set to work bringing in the digger and making the hole. Because our yard was very wet from the rain he suggested setting the tree a little higher so it would drain. When the tree was placed he had me look at the way it was placed. I wanted the 3 main branches to face my porch so he and his assistant patiently turned it until it was just exactly the way I wanted it. Because of the wetness of the lawn the wheels of the digger made deep cuts, but by the time they left the ruts were filled in and the tree looked at home in it's new place. I think it's a good idea to know ahead of time where you want the tree placed and make sure that when it is placed you walk around all sides and look from all angles to make sure it fits your vision. This was a very good experience. I felt I was in good hands and not pressured in any way.

Was able to select specific trees on tree farm. The location of the plantings was difficult to access, nevertheless, the crew was able to plant the trees in the desired locations. The large ball on the trees made them extremely heavy (compared to other companies), but this should help ensure the trees will thrive in new locations. Crew was responsive and courteous. Pricing very good. Will use Elling Tree Farm again and have recommended to others.

The people who removed the damaged boxelder recommended Elling Tree Farm. We visited the 50 acre tree farm and looked at a wide variety of trees before deciding on a Red Sunset Maple. He stopped to check access to our back yard. We returned to the farm and looked at several before picking. Installation took 1-1/2 hours from arrival to departure.

Brad, the owner, was great to work with over the entire event. He came out to the house to review the location and discuss the placement of the trees. He then invited us out to the tree farm to review the trees and make suggestions on the type and size of the specimens. He then came out over to our house over a 1 wk period and planted the trees. He even helped coach us on how to handle the trees after he planted. We would refer his services to anyone interested in large tree purchases. Thanks!

They did an excellent job. It is over a year since we had them planted and they are thriving, even through drought this summer. We visited the tree farm and were pleased with the selection and quality of their trees. On a second visit to the tree farm I selected specific trees and he tagged them for us. We scheduled the planting on a day where I could stay home from work in the morning. He called ahead to let me know when he would arrive, and arrived at the time he said he would.. They got right to work and completed the job quickly. One thing he pointed out was that he leaves a large root ball on the trees so there is less damage to the roots when transplanting them. I believe that is why they did so well this summer in the dry conditions.

It went very well, had the right equipment and the help to get the job done quickly. I will be using them again in the future.

The trees are flourishing even in the heat we have had, a job well done

Prior to purchasing a tree from the Ellings tree farm, my family and I visited the tree farm in Lapeer, MI. Mr. Ellings and his staff were polite and informative. Their knowledge and cooperation were outstanding and we felt very comfortable asking questions and pleased with the answers. Mr. Ellings took us on a tour of the property and showed us a variety of trees that may fit our needs. Mr. Ellings explained the process of growing trees, as well as explaining cost. We settled on a Red King Maple, which we picked ourselves. Once selected, the tree was tagged and Mr. Ellings showed us other selections that we may want to purchase in the future. What I liked was that there was NO hard selling and it seemed that profit was not important. We settled on price, a tree was purchased, and a date was set for delivery and installation. Upon reaching my residence, Mr. Ellings and his worker were prompt. we settled on a location for the tree and the work had begun. Less than an hour later my tree was installed. Mr. Ellings explained in great detail how to take care of my tree and even spent time helping me map out my next purchases. I would definitely recommend Ellings Tree Farm for anyone looking for quality trees, quality work and an honest business man.

Owner brought the tree I had chosen. Dug the hole and placed the tree exactly in the the place specified. All in less than 30 min.

It went very well. The selection of different varieties at his farm was great and his advice was very helpful. The actual planting operation went very well. Clean up was great and we're very happy with our new tree.

I was impressed from the minute I drove up the looooooong, tree-lined driveway to get to the Elling Tree Farm. Brad met me out front, talked with me about what I wanted to accomplish. The we got in the golf cart and drove the property looking at different trees. He explained the pros and cons of different evergreens. And hard wood trees. The selection was magnificent....truly. I was about to select BIG trees. His equipment could handle it all. Then he delivered and used his spade truck to plan these beauties. I was so impressed with his prices, his service, his knowledge....everything about the experience was terrific. Great guy. And honest. You can tell. He is just a good businessman and very fair. I would never go anywhere else for trees.

On the day our trees were installed their trucks pulled up right on time. That is very much appreciated. They couldn't have been more professional. At their suggestion we placed stakes in our yard for about a week before they were to install our trees to make sure that we liked where each and every one was going to be placed. They were very kind and made sure we liked each and every tree placement according to our stakes. One of the tree trunks ended up having a bit of a slight curve part way up the trunk and after it was placed, while they were installing our pines, I kept looking at it and Mr. Elling asked if I liked it or if something wasn't the way I wanted it? They ended up pulling the tree back out and adjusting it for me. He said they wanted us to be happy with our trees which was Awesome!! We are absolutely happy with our purchase and very glad we chose Elling Tree Farm for our trees! I won't hesitate to use them again when we are ready for more trees.
