It went very well. I purchased a home whose yard had been woefully neglected for many years. Trees and shrubs were badly overgrown. We tried to trim and remove much of it ourselves, but realized quickly that the job was too big for us. A large deck, partially roofed was built around a maple tree that had become overgrown and was dying and dangerous. The owner came out in early November to write up a quote and make great suggestions. It was late in the season and he was very busy, but he assured me that the job could be completed before winter. A team of 6 came and worked on both the front and back yards at the same time and completed the job in less than 4 hours. They were fun to watch as they had to do amazing geometry to remove the tree on the deck. I was very pleased with the job!!! They removed all debris and left me a nicely stacked bit of wood at my late request for my fire pit.

Prompt with free estimate and gave good idea how many weeks out they were working. Owner gave estimate, talked at length with us, and discussed options. We had one tree doing poorly, and he suggested talking with our neighbors, and trimming their tree, to help save ours. Another company did not suggest this, only to remove our tree, so I was glad to have that thought. The neighbors were agreeable, though we paid and did not ask for payment from them. Workers seemed very knowledgeable and safe. They cleaned up all debris. The company came back a couple of weeks later to grind the stump (another tree we had to remove - it was dying) , but we were told this would be what would happen, ahead of time.

Mark Mayhoe, certified arborist, and his skilled team of tree guys did a fantastic job helping us to remove or correctly prune a number of trees on our semi-wooded lot with lots of large mature trees. Mark spent over an hour looking at all the trees with me and strategizing how to proceed. The work was done over the course of two days and then they came back a third time to grind the stumps. They were careful, did exactly what they promised to do, and cleaned up afterward, stacking firewood, shredding scrap, etc. They hauled away all the waste and also left me with a nice pile of mulch to use. I thought their prices were quite fair for the work done, and they were just a really nice bunch of people to work with. It was nice to see their teamwork and that they seemed to enjoy their work.

Mark was very nice and professional. At first his quote was higher than what I'd received from Wright, but then he brought it down to $25 less than Wright. (He applied an Angie's List discount and another discount because I agreed to pay cash.) It's a busy time, so it took about four weeks before they could come out and do the job, but that was the timeframe I was quoted at other places, too. I also liked that Wiseman used tree climbers to cut down the branches--Wright would have had to drive a bucket truck on my neighbor's lawn to get to it. Wiseman came out and did the job while I was at work. I came home and it was all done and looked great. Mark called later to check on the service and then he came by to collect payment. He was friendly and provided great customer service.

It took only a few days to receive a cost estimate for the services I needed. Once I received a cost estimate, the job was scheduled for 4 to 6 weeks out. Within a month I received a call and the services were completed. Three guys were on site to complete the job. They were very kind, polite and efficient. The limbs were removed without any damage to my home, and they even cleaned my gutters while on the roof. At the end of the job they used a leaf blower to clean leaves off of my back deck and removed all evidence of the tree trimming from my front lawn. Overall, this was a great service provider and I would recommend this company to others.

THEY WERE WONDERFUL !!! He came exactly when he said he would for estimate & said they could do the work in about 2 weeks. He called in 3 days & said, because of the wet weather, they could do my work that day if that was ok. 6 guys came in a few minutes & had everything done in about 4 hrs. They did EXACTLY everything I wanted, they way I wanted. They asked me several times if they had done just what I wanted, did I want it cut back more etc. I asked to have the mulch left for me & they did. I could not have asked for better service. Also made suggestions of other trees that could be trimmed, if I wanted, at another time. Neighbors across the street asked to have a tree trimmed while they were there and they did it & I got that mulch too. yaaa

A+ company. From first contact - messages through Angie's List as well as by phone - we were treated with professionalism and old-fashioned courtesy. Responses were quick and clear. We're especially grateful for their patience through some scheduling shenanigans: hubby working and not available, me Up North and not available - and when we finally set a date I was summoned for Jury duty! All Wiseman staff remained polite and helpful throughout. During site visit to discuss the work we needed done Mark was friendly, knowledgeable and precise. We opted to do half the work this season - removal of two trees - and the rest next spring before leaf-out (pruning several mature maples away from power lines). Also appreciated Mark's sensibility regarding removal. We were looking at taking out a juniper that has been rather unfortunately topiaried over the years; but Mark advised against killing this healthy tree. He told us it just needs TLC to bring it back to beauty. How lovely of him to think so - and to tell us! We kept the juniper. :) Hubby came home to find the two trees gone, and NO mess. He said he did a double-take because it simply appeared the trees had never been there at all. Really outstanding job. It went very well. Mr. Mayhoe advised me that they were very busy because of storms, and it might take a while to get to me, which was ok with me, as the work I needed done was more for aesthetics. They cleaned everything up well, and left me with a neat pile of wood chips. The only negative is that there were a couple of minor items they agreed to come back for, and I think they've forgotten. I would definitely use them again.

My main dislike was that they called us the day they wanted to come out. They were supposed to contact us earlier with the day they were going to come out. They did what we wanted and they got it all done within one day, which was nice. I would recommend them.

It did take a while to schedule the service. I had to call a few times to remind them of the service or to see if they were still coming out.

They provide a yearly service for me. They do excellent work. They are reliable and are punctual. They are also knowledgeable and dependable. They are also very professional and clean up after themselves. The pricing is competitive. I never have had any difficulties scheduling a service with the company.

The owner arrived and gave me a proposal and a timeline. As predicted the work began when promised. A crew of workers arrived and quickly completed the job. These men did all the tree cutting by climbing the trees rather than moving in large equipment which was important to me. They clearly are very expert at climbing! They were courteous and even cleared some other brush that I had while here. I would not hesitate to call them again, if needed.

They arrived on time, preformed the work and removed all the debris. They were very professional. The cost for the work was very reasonable. I would use them again.

I called you folks the last time you reminded me and told you that I am in contact with this provider but there isn't much they can do until spring. Our yard and trees are overpowered with lots and lots of snow. I will be in touch and write a review when there is something to review.

I contacted Wiseman Tree Service to remove a tree near my home that was in the way of a new deck. I left a message and got a call-back within a few minutes. Mark Mayhoe came out earlier this week and gave me a good bid and said he would try to work me in ASAP because of the deck. They came out today and removed the tree and ground the stump. These guys were great. Professional, fast, friendly and neat. They raked the debris and even swept the driveway. There was not a leaf left when they were done. Thanks!

The Wiseman responded very fast for my request all went down in a week from posting the job order on a Thursday to the job finished on next Friday. Thank you.

After the December ice storm, we had several downed limbs and branches. We spoke with Mark Mayhoe and he came out to give us an estimate. He also noted several storm damaged limbs on the birch and maple trees that were creating a hazard and recommended removing them also. Mark is an expert . We have used him several times in the past few years and we value his judgement. His estimate was more than reasonable, $275. As usual, Mark's crew was on time, profession, personable, and did an excellent job! It was a freezing day, with two to three feet of snow still on the ground, and working high up in the trees must have been very difficult, but they did a great job!. They cut the limbs, some 8 to 10 inches in diameter, took them to the wood chipper, and hauled everything away. Just an extra note: After working for about an hour, we saw the crew down on the ground. With a wind chill of minus 5 to 10 degrees, there they were...... DOING PUSH UPS!! My husband, being an athlete in his younger years, was astonished. They did 50 push ups before going back to finish the job. We have been extremely pleased each time we have used Mark and his crew, and we highly recommend them!

I have to state up front that the work done by Wiseman was in response to the massive ice storm that hit Lansing on December 22, 2013. Due to the sheer amount of damage done in the area, they were understandably very, very busy. I called Wiseman the day after the storm and left a message. They returned my call the next day (not surprising it took a day, given the severity of the damage in the area and the fact that their power was also out). Mark called me back with an estimate later that day (or the next day, can't remember which). I called numerous other companies right after the storm, Wiseman was one of only two that ever got back to me and their estimate was less than half what the other company quoted me. I obviously opted to go with Wiseman. They explained that, because of how much work they were getting from the storm they were prioritizing the most critical cases. Since there wasn't any damage or impending threat of damage to my house, I would not be as high of a priority. This was completely understandable. They told me they would hopefully be able to get to me by early the following week. I told them that was fine and asked that they call me to let me know when they were going to be coming out so I could be present when the work was done. They did not make it by early the following week. In fact, I heard nothing from them until I called and left another message inquiring as to when they would be out 1 1/2 weeks later (January 2). Almost a week after that, they returned my call, explained they had been extremely busy and asked if I still needed the work done. I did. They estimated they would be there by the end of that week or start of the next. I said that would be fine, and asked again that they please call before they showed up. Another week went by. They finally made it to me the Friday of the following week (Jan 17). I did not get a call before they showed up to start the work (luckily my wife was home from work that day anyway), but Mark did call me when they were about halfway through to check in and see how we wanted to handle payment. I told him my wife could pay him as she was at home currently. The work that they did was top-notch. They trimmed the damage to multiple trees. They cleaned up all the downed branches. They ground up and hauled away most of the debris (with the exception of the large pieces of branches which they neatly stacked by the curb, not sure why as I didn't ask for them to leave behind any firewood, but it's not the end of the world). My wife reports that Mark was very nice when he came by to handle payment and that they were very efficient which I appreciate as my dog is rather hyperactive and hates when there are strangers working in our yard. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again as the work they did was top-notch. While the communication ahead of the service date was lacking, I was less concerned about that due to the sheer volume of work they were undoubtedly dealing with.
