The Cleaning Authority - Lansing

I was a very long time customer (14 years). The quality was fantastic for many years, but sadly has been very poor for the last few years. Very sad, but I had to change service. The cleans became so horrifically bad, and even damaging to my home that the stress of cleaning up after them was not worth it anymore.

Was supposed to get deep clean during first two cleanings. They were terrible. They just do some basic things to make it look like they cleaned, but they don't do what is listed on the paperwork. Even after pointing out what they missed! Manager is terrible! Makes it sound like they will make it right, but still don't follow through. I gave them a second chance, was told they would do what they missed...still had to clean when they left. Missed cobwebs, didn't dust area, missed mirrors, did not wipe doors or baseboards. It was ridiculous! They don't return calls, and don't give the owner the messages of complaints. Do not waist your time or money!

The ladies were professional, nice, prompt and the price was about right. After they had left I noticed that nothing on my bathroom counter had been cleaned. The counter looked like it was wiped down but things like toothbrush holder, paper cup holder and the wood around the mirrors were not. I did not pursue this as we were on a time limit. I also did not want to have to complain about the cleaning. The whole purpose of getting my house cleaned was that I didn't want to have to deal with it.

Their stellar! I love them, they are great! They come clean our house every other week. I have recommended them to other people already. They have been cleaning for us for about 5 months now.

The major problem with this company is that they do not send the same crew each time and they were extremely inconsistant. I used this company for almost 2 years. They started out good and things kept going downhill. I would call and complain and they'd send somebody back or give me money off my next clean or give me a free clean. Unfortunately that is not what I wanted. I wanted my house cleaned correctly the first time each time. I expected by kitchen and bathrooms floors mopped with each cleaning and this was part of the contract, but, wasn't getting done. Many times I could not even tell they'd been in my house. After giving them too many chances I recently terminated there services. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Price seemed reasonable, but never knew who was coming.

Very well. The crew is professional, punctual, careful with my things, and does a good job.

I have had a number of cleaning companies over the years, have had some that just swipe at the furniture but don't actually clean anything, and have had problems with theft. We have been with the Cleaning Authority for about a year with absolutely no problems. Wanda and Jackie are awesome!!

When their services first started up with me, I had no complaints. But as time went on, they were not cleaning the house as we contracted. I would leave things go for a while just to see if they would do their job correctly and they did not. Some of the girls were okay when I showed them what they weren't doing. But a couple of them gave me real attitude went I asked them to do something correctly. A simple example is a table we eat at that has a glass top. When you walk into the room the sun shines on it such that it shows everything on the table. There were crumbs and water rings on the table. I thought the girl just accidently missed it. I asked her to go ahead and wipe it down before she left. She told me she had already cleaned it and then rolled her eyes and made some remark under her breath. Just the quality of the cleaning alone was not very good, but then the attitude that started coming with it made me hire a different company.

I found them on Angie's List. I had a problem last fall. The girl that came out had an attitude. I called and told Connie about her attitude. Connie is their boss. They were grateful that I told them. When the girl came in she drug leaves in from outside. I asked her to grab the broom and sweep them outside. She told me that she does not do outside work. That was not very professional. I always told them that when they go upstairs to take up some bags to put in the bottom of the trash cans. They not only did not do that they also did not take the trash out at all. Connie was very grateful that I called her and has not sent that girl back. I was glad I called her. I like her and she seemed to have a handle on things.

They do a good job but not a spectacular job. They are very nice people.

It depends on the particular team that comes here because we have had some good experiences and some bad ones. Recently they have all been good experiences and we have no complaints with the team that has been coming out.

They come to my home twice a month to clean. I'm pleased with them. I will continue to use their services in the future.

If they actually did what they said they were going to do it would be a good price. The problem was that they did not perform the services they said they were performing bi weekly. For example, mopping the floor, you could clearly see where they hadn't done that. It would have been different if I hadn't called numerous times and they said "Oh we will take care of it and make sure they clean it the next time".The next time I get home and it still had not been done. I called them four different times in hopes that they would change and eventually I said I am terminating my contract because you aren't providing the services that you agreed to provide.

Generally, it has been very good. It is a company but I have had the same lady for the last several years. She comes in with a partner and she is very good. We have a set time in the summer but the only thing that annoys me is that more than occasionally the office would call and ask if they could come since they got finished early. Other than that they do a good job. I think that their price is very fair. The ladies that I have are there when they are supposed to be there but a lot of times, it depends on the office. Their professionalism is good. I have used them for years.

They always vacuumed the carpets and removed any pet hair from the couch. However, when they dusted they would go around the items on the surface rather than removing them and dusting the entire surface. On most visits, at least one piece of furniture was skipped - either the credenza holding our television or the shelf in the bathroom. Our bathtub was supposed to get cleaned every other visit (once per month) but in 3 months, I never found evidence of cleaning other than the ledge of the tub was wiped. Additionally, the wood floors were never mopped (also supposed to happen every other visit.) The company cleaned our house for approximately 3 months (once every other week) and I regularly called and provided feedback. I always received an apology and was told that they would send a different cleaning crew and it would be much better the next time. (I called on 4 separate occasions.) Things improved only marginally. The last time I called I was offered 1/2 off my next cleaning and they did send a different person. That cleaning was the best that I had received. The next time, however, it was back to the same disappointing level of service - dusting around objects, none of the floors were mopped, the bathtub wasn't cleaned, etc. (The kitchen was supposed to be cleaned/mopped every time. The floor wasn't mopped and the sink was never cleaned; the counters and around the sink were wiped.) I paid $68.00 for each cleaning (my home is about 1800 sq ft.) and I would regularly dust, mop, and clean the shower myself after our house had been serviced. I finally gave up and canceled my bi-weekly cleanings because I lost all hope that things would get better. I had a service at my prior residence which was excellent (Executive Maintenance, Ada, MI) and only cost slightly more- $75/ cleaning. I joined Angie's list in hopes of finding a cleaning service with that type of quality.

Good, friendly, professional staff; they bring their own cleaners and equipment; will adjust to requests such as no bleach.. Very efficient.

Overall, we highly recommend this company. We have had other cleaning services (including Merry Maids) and TCA is more reasonably priced and seems to care more about your home. We have never had to worry about our valuables and feel they are they best in our area of those services we have tried.

They were very thorough, professional and prompt.

I ended the service after using it for a couple of months. On the plus side they always came when scheduled. I was disappointed to come home every time and find the small rugs not put back in the same place and the non-slip pads underneath were always showing - this meant I had to spend fifteen minutes realigning the rugs when I got home from work. (But I least I knew they had cleaned under them!) The last straw was when I came home and found my kitchen sink clean - except for the large black hair in it! In other words, the level of detail was not what I would expect from a professional company that costs this much.
