They are top rate and incredible. They are completely trustworthy which is wonderful. This is the second time we have used them and would highly recommend them to others.

A little slow on the scheduling and the start of the project however they did do a nice job of keeping in touch with us and letting us know throughout the project what was going on.

My experience with them was excellent. For one thing, Andy Palmer was really helpful in helping me look at the options and was very patient with the long time I took to figure out what color I want when I looked at samples. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they would do it. They were very neat and are nice people to deal with. Recently, I had an issue I was concerned about on my roof and they immediately came out and checked it out.

They were fantastic and we love it. They had great vision, helped us design it, and did a great job building it.

He was excellent to talk to and get the quote. We weren’t going to do it right away but it gave us an idea of how much it would cost. He was very professional. He told us how he would do the job and keep the area clean free metal pieces and things like that. We realized that his quote was fine. It was just that my husband ended up doing the job himself to save money. That was the reason we didn’t use him.

I was very satisfied; they did a really good job. We got three different quotes and they were all around $100 of each other.

Andy and his crew were the best. He was prompt and courteous. Always called if he'd be late by even a few minutes. A professional roof job was completed. Several months later we noted a rip in a screen from falling shingles, called Andy, and it was promptly taken care of...no questions asked. Recommended him to friends and neighbors and he received additional jobs. They were happy as well!

Andy, the owner of the company was very professional and knowledgeable and great to work with. The crew that did the work did a great job. They paid attention to details and cleaned up thoroughly. During the process they protected the house and landscaping from potential damage. I had one small follow-up issue after the job was complete and it was handled promptly and completely.

I started in mid November 2012 obtaining estimates for replacing my current siding with vinyl siding, replacing gutters and wrapping all cedar trim with aluminum. During two visits with Andy Palmer, he provided thorough information on various products and options. Although I was impressed with his presentations, I opted to go with another company who provided similar products for a lower cost.

Palmer gave me the same quote as another roofing company, but showed me an area that needed repair on the roof that would be included in the price. Owner (Andy) took pictures of the current roof condition on an iPad and showed me problematic areas. Palmer also offered shingles with a lifetime warranty. The project started on-time, but was extended by a day due to an extra layer of shingles that needed to be removed on one part of the roof and some snowy weather that prevented an early start time one day. The project ended up lasting into the weekend (Saturday) and was quite loud - as you'd expect. I became irritated (mostly, my toddler became irritated) with the noise on Saturday and called the project manager who left his own family and was on-site within 15 minutes. He physically joined the crew on the roof and with clean-up until the job was finished. Palmer also sent me a gift card because of the delay. The roof looks great and we didn't find a single piece of shingle or any other mess left behind. I'd highly recommend Palmer and would use them again myself.

Andy got my business partly because he took the time to fully explain what could be done and gave options. He impressed me with his sense of professionalism and when I observed problems, he was most responsive in getting things fixed. One problem I called him about nearly a year after the gutters were put up was that one corner was collecting rainwater rather than draining it. His team leader for my job came out at the end of his workday and made an adjustment to the gutter that took care of the excess water. As he left, he shook my hand and said, "Thank you for the work." I am convinced that Andy and his teams want to have satisfied customers. It is hard to expect all work will be perfect on the first go round, but these guys will get it right when notified.

Our windows were not installed properly many years ago leading to a leaking sill and other concerns. Nate from Palmer was the most prompt in his response to our call and was the ONLY contractor of several we spoke with who actually got on a ladder and investigated our problem. He answered every question and had no issues in breaking down costs and sharing the names of materials he used so we could compare "apples to apples". Because they do not use subs their pricing came in much lower and they used the same products as the "high end" contractors. To avoid future problems, we replaced 4 windows in total, had our home house wrapped, replaced the siding and made sure the proper sealing around all of our windows was in place. The improvement of our house's appearance is immediately noticeable and the difference in temperature in our rooms is amazing. While we knew we were having a "heat loss" issue, we had no idea how significant the problem was until this project was complete. This was a great investment. Site Manager Chris was polite, considerate and communicative through the whole process. He made sure he understood everything about the products and the process from beginning to end. Nate, the project manager checked in at the site every day and was great about keeping us in the loop during weather and material delays. The individuals on site were conscientious, polite and hard working - even in freezing temperatures. Each day things were cleaned up to the last scrap and their attention to detail was easy to see every step of the way. We will absolutely use them again to replace our other windows and for other remodeling jobs in our home.

We solicited proposals from several companies. Palmer Construction's presentation of their proposal was by far the most professional. Andy Palmer went to great detail explaining options to us and providing recommendations. Dan, our project manager, explained every step of the project timeline to us and kept us apprised of progress. He was always accessible to answer any questions. The crew was punctual, courteous, and professional. Even our next door neighbor commented about the professionalism of the crew. Palmer Construction completed the project on time, on budget, and in a professional manner. We could ask for no more!

The customized widows made by Chris are fantastic. Unfortunately the wrong windows were orders, but the owner rectified the situation - excellent customer service. After approximately a year we checked the the windows on the upper level and discovered that not all the windows are sealed correctly and are cracking. Disappointed, but anticipate the owner will correct the error. An update to the review will be posted.

Andy and his group were very polite, professional and responsive. The estimate I received was almost identical to the other company. I picked Palmer after Andy came to my home to go over the estimate. He showed me every step of the process and had a very nice presentation (including photos). I hoped (correctly) that his attention to detail would carry over in the roofing job. Every employee was polite and helpful and the roof was completed on time. I would highly recommend the service

After a few years of use, our deck needed some additional support. I did quite a bit of research online and asking around, and decided it was more than I could handle. I found Palmer Construction on Angie's List and gave them a call. They came out right away, took a good long look at the deck, and made some recommendations. They also listened to my concerns and adjusted their plans to take those concerns into consideration. From my experience as a customer and not a construction professional, I thought they did a great job explaining to me what was needed, yet respecting my input and working it into a plan that we both felt comfortable with. They did the work as planned, making the deck more secure, and came in right at their estimated cost. They also cleaned up the site thoroughly after each day of work (it took two or three days) and when complete--no nails lying around, etc. We have enjoyed the rest of a very hot summer using the deck without any problems.

I called Palmer for a quote. They called me back on the 2nd day which is why I gave them a B on responsiveness. I obtained 3 quotes. One from Palmer and 2 from others. Palmer was the lowest. I had read their previous reviews and was confident they would do a good job. Andy Palmer was very professional and told me my options. Dan his job site foreman called and asked to start a day earlier which was fine. They completed the soffits and facia the first day. They completed the eavestroughs the next day. All debris were cleaned up each day. Except from the work I could not tell they were ever there on either day. They did a great job and I am satisfied. I was satisfied from the quality work, clean up and the reasonable price. I would use them again and recommend them.

The job should have been completed in 2-4 wks, it took 6. Not happy with final caulking.

The salesman was very courteous and helpful, and addressed all of our concerns. He was thorough in both his inspection of the old roof and very helpful in determining what to do for the new roof. Shortly after the installation crew arrived we discovered a serious problem which was immediately and professionally addressed. The work went very smoothly, the workers were courteous, careful and professional in every respect. Clean up was quick and complete, and the finished product excellent. Without a doubt Palmer Construction is the best roofing company in our area and I highly recommend them. Professional, through and completely honest. I doubt there is another roofing company in our area that can be as competitive, professional and thorough as Palmer Construction.

The guy from Palmer Construction was very polite. He went out and measured, he came back in said I'll have a quote sent to you in a week. He didn't discuss anything with us, or give us any options. He wasn't ready to answer any questions or anything. Very professional but short and sweet.

I worked with Dan from Palmer Construction. Once again, he was very professional, responsive and pleasant. And my new roof is beautiful. I highly recommend Palmer Construction.

We received several quotes for both asphalt and metal roofing but after meeting with Andy Palmer decided his product/services were the best choice. Finding good, qualified contractors is always a hit or miss but we are so glad we chose Palmer Construction for this job. Dan Palmer and his crew were very accommodating to my schedule, arrived promptly the first day, worked long hours and completed the project is just over 2 days. The crew did an excellent job; they worked hard, kept us informed, cleaned up to perfection and, overall, were just a pleasure to work with. We also had Palmer Construction install shutters which look great with the new roof.

Andy Palmer was one of five people we called for a quote on our roof. Palmer and another well-established company gave detailed quotes. Because the roof project was complicated--and, as always with an house that is old and eccentric, unpredictable--guys from several other roofing companies looked puzzled and went away in search of easier jobs. Andy and the other established roofer gave similar quotes. (We knew the roof would cost what we consider a huge amount, but the quotes were in the ballpark of what we had anticipated.) Andy's quote was very slightly less, but that did not really figure in our decision. We selected Palmer because of the excellent and detailed sales presentation Andy did, showing photographs of the details of the proposed work on his i-pad. He showed problem spots on the roof and gave specific and detailed descriptions of the ways he would approach them, the specific materials he would use, the pros and cons of various options, etc. Andy is very personable and professional--no hard sell, just good information. In addition, he gave us a firm quote, whereas his competition's specified that if they found X or Y, there would be an additional charge. (It's an old house, of course they will find things they had not anticipated!) In addition, we liked Palmer's terms--25% on signing, 25% as work begins, and 50% on completion. This reinforced our sense of Palmer as a stable and well-run company. He also gave us a long list of roofs they had done, and drove around and checked out the work, which looked good. My husband is a retired engineer, and both of us are are very interested in the mechanical details; Andy answered the questions to our satisfaction, and gave us confidence that he was a good problem solver, able to come up with solutions when the unplanned appeared. The consistently positive reviews and detailed comments on Angie's list were also crucial to our decision--particularly those of you who mentioned his follow-up, since with our old house, any project requires touching up after the fact. The crew who worked on our house showed up on time, and was professional and efficient. There was a minimum of disruption (considering that we had seven or eight people on our roof) and THEY CLEANED UP EVERY NIGHT!!!! No tripping over piles of singles and rotting board. The guys were polite and friendly, and worked efficiently. The crew foreman was not on site because he had twin babies the day before the job started. I was quite concerned about this at the time--though certainly understood why he was not on the job--but the crew seemed very capable, and Andy stopped by often to check on the work, so this did not turn out to be a problem. I had been concerned about the use of dimensional shingle on the roll at the edge of the roof, but the crew worked this out--after some experimentation. They completed the main roof in the scheduled 4 or 5 days, even though they had to work around our pest control man when the crew found a huge bee hive in the eaves. Near the end of the main roof job, a sub-contractor--a flat roof specialist--came to work on the back part of the house. This turned out to be the unanticipated problem area. Water had been trapped between the previous membrane roof and the decking, so the decking was rotted. Everything had to be ripped off and replaced. In addition, the area around the sky light had to be redesigned and rebuilt. The flat roof then had to be tied into the main roof; he also had to redesign and rebuilt this area. Good problem-solving and carry through. The previous tie-in--there since we bought the house--was unsightly, and the sub-contractor came up with a much more sanitary and attractive solution. After completion and before final payment, I (fussy, fussy) went around the house with my binoculars, looking at all the rolled edges to make sure that the curve was consistent around the house and the edges were tucked the way I wanted them. We were in and out of town, so I am not sure of the timing, but one of the guys came around to fix some areas that were not to my high specs. This was taken care of professionally, and as a matter of course--as the reviews led us to anticipate. The roof looks great--better than it has in the past 30 years. Andy took some "after" pictures so we know what it looks like on top--it's too steep for us to get up there--so we know what the fixes look like. We spent a lot of money, and we are satisfied that it was well spent. I am also confident that if we do encounter a problem, Palmer will make sure it is fixed. We've worked with many contractors--good, bad and indifferent--and Palmer is definitely the most professional and efficient--Andy shows up when he says he'll show up and delivers what he promises. The project also caused us the least amount of anxiety and inconvenience of any major project we've undertaken, which is priceless. I did not have to rearrange my time, check up to see if the work was being done properly, worry about cost beyond the quote, lock up my dog or trip over debris. We would most definitely hire Palmer again. Highly recommended.
