Palmer Construction

They came out and did some repairs and frankly I was pleased with the fact that they didn't try to sell us out when we needed to replace our roof issue. I thought I might have to replace the whole roof but they said we should wait a year. So that was good. They were making repairs on it which went fine and they didn't try to oversell us on what they do. Their demeanor was polite. The quality of the pair from what I know was good. It was just a few shingles that came off. They didn't do a temporary repair they actually put in new shingles. It was done quickly.

The Palmer Construction team, from the owner (Andy Palmer) to the project manager (Jerry Frazier) down to the sub-contractors and general staff have been prompt, professional, courteous, skilled, engaged, helpful, and creative. I would and have and will continue to reccommend Palmer Construction for any and all construction projects.

Palmer staff was prompt, professional, friendly, and took their time to do a thorough job. They listened and made appropriate notes and asked appropriate questions. They provided us a detailed written estimate, very thorough, a packet of information on products to consider, and a copy of their license and insurance. Both gentlemen who came out initially were well prepared and friendly. But their young employee Dan Smeak was a delight to work with. He took a photo of our home and provided us with a website to which he had uploaded a photo of our home for us to "work" with. It was very helpful in making decisions of what materials to consider and how our house might really look. He followed up on the phone as well. Dan's customer service was outstanding! Had it not been that Palmer's bid came in quite a bit higher than the other two we received, we would have gone with them.

We are very happy with them.They timed it out wonderfully; the chimney guys came, tore the chimney down and rebuilt it. With in three days the roofers came, tore off the old roof and put the new one on-which was a little over a week.When they were done the gutter guys got the gutters on; there was hardly any delay between one service and the next.There were no problems at all, they did a nice job. They also came and checked with us if everything was done to our satisfaction and we already hired them again to repair the roof on the barn.

He got back to me and was thorough. He was very nice, came out to the house when he said he would and gave me an estimate. He had various ways to provide the estimate. I just choose email but he said he would call or he would go over it with me.

There was a cancellation so they were able to start the job the week after we put down a deposit. I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to complete before it started to rain (we had a LOT of rain in May). They arrived just as I was leaving for work, and when I returned home they were already finished and cleaning up, and I only work part-time! Photos were e-mailed to me at work to keep me apprised of the status of the work. Someone from the company was also out to inspect the work that day. I thought they were very professional, prompt, honest.

It hasn't leaked since they worked on it. They said it wasn't done right by the original installer.

I was very happy with Palmer Construction. They cleaned up everything. They cleaned up so well there wasn't a nail or a shred of anything left which I really liked. They did it fast and finished it in one day.

I think the price was probably right one.

Palmer Construction was an "A" on their service, competency and promptness. The plumber was very good. I would hire them again. Their prices were fair and their work was good.

An estimator, Bill Fate, came out & inspected the old roof. Went up on the roof to do so. He then explained in great detail what Palmer Construction would do to replace the roof including the waterproof layers to be used, etc. After that, he got me a written estimate of everything that would be done and the total cost within a couple days. Estimated it would take (2) full days to complete the task. Discussed how the payment plan worked. His estimate was very competitive, and I decided to go with Palmer. The job was scheduled to start in 4 weeks. It should be noted that full-color professional pamphlets were used during Bill's discussion. Nate and his highly professional crew worked efficiently and were obviously very knowledgeable. Shrubs, etc. were daily protected with large tarps, decking material, etc. At the end of each day, everything was totally cleaned up around the exterior of the house and roofing materials neatly stacked. A few days after the roofing was completed as promised, Dan Smeak came out for a final inspection of the roof, using a ladder so that he could walk the roof to do so. Once again, the area around the house was spotless. He then explained everything that was done, as specified in the original contract. The total final cost of the job was as promised. When I had the occasion to talk to Palmer Construction on the phone, Gail was readily available to answer any questions. She was always extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. True professionals!

They were well. I did like that the owner came out like finishing the job but I didn't like that they took so long to take care of it but it was a weather issue.

They were great. They did a complete tear off and restructure of the roof. Fantastic!!!

It went really good as far as estimate, but we didn't use them.

The staff was very sensitive to our needs and concerns, and were flexible. We were making significant changes to all of our three bathrooms, but bathroom facilities were always available to us throughout the construction. We used their interior design person. Again, this was a very positive experience. She was responsive and flexible. Her services were essential to beautiful final product.

Stated above. But I might also add that they were very prompt with everything. He came out and took pictures the night I called him. He had the estimate to me within a few days. When I signed the contract, I was given an approximate start date and they started sooner than expected. I was told they would be there for 3-5 days and they were done in 2 1/2. Absolutely fantastic service.

We used Angie's List to identify a couple different contractors to discuss our project. We had 2 companies come out and talk with us, Palmer being one. My wife and I really liked Andy's approach and personality. Overall project price was a bit of a shock, but Palmer came in a few hundred less than the other company. Was able to work with Andy to delay the project until we had the necessary funds to complete the project. Overall the project went very well. Dan, their project manager, did a great job keeping in touch, telling what was happening, when things would happen etc. Was very pleased with his personal attention. Their work crews showed up when they said, and worked hard when they were on site. We had one minor blimp in our communication with Andy, which happened to coincide with the Lansing Home and Garden Show, but other than that I was very pleased with Palmer Construction. My wife and I were so pleased with how this project went, that we've already started the preliminary steps of working with Palmer on a bathroom remodel.

Puntual and did great job on roof. Not pleased to find 3 roofing nails left on the driveway, however.

Went fine. They matched the roofing material when making repair. Prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. Very clear in explaining the problem.

Very pleased with manners, discussions, advice given, and work (so far).

Palmer Construction did excellent work replacing my siding, installing a new window, and replacing my sliding glass door. The attention to detail was amazing. They took off the old siding down to the sheathing and repaired some water damage, paying attention both indoors and out. The repairs were thorough, rather than just enough to make it look good. They cleaned up every day, including checking for nails in the driveway, and ended with a very thorough canvas of the yard to pick up bits and pieces. I would definitely hire them back.

The representative came to my home, inspected and measured. He told me he would email me the estimates. I waited almost a week until I finally emailed HIM for them. He told me I would get it the next day. When I received the estimate, it was for the siding and trim, but no estimate for just the trim. When I asked him where the 2nd estimate for just the trim was, he told me that "they" decided they would only treat/paint the trim if they did the siding, I couldn't have just the trim painted. Also, they would take the shutters down, but NOT paint them. Shutters are considered part of the trim to me, so I would have to paint those myself?!! So they aren't "interested" in painting just the trim if you won't have your WHOLE house, siding and all painted? That is just crazy to me. My siding is in excellent condition and doesn't NEED painting, I just don't care for the color. I've just never heard of a painter to turn down a job because it's not considered worth their while. VERY disappointed!

They were really good. I am waiting to hear back from them. I do not think that they are unreasonable. Everything had been very good so far. They have been in communication with me. They have been very responsive. I feel like they will do a good job. I hope that everything will go okay.
