We looked on Angie's List for a plumber. Contacted Miteff Plumbing on Monday and they were able to schedule us in on Tuesday. The called before they came and arrived in the time window they had given. Jody and Josh were both very friendly and professional. I showed them the seven things we needed repaired and they got to work right away. It took about an hour and a half and everything was done. Jody even looked at our second bathroom and noticed it was not properly caulked and explained what to buy and how and why to repair. They explained the work they had done and left the work areas clean. The price seemed fair, especially for the level of attention to detail and well done repairs. We also appreciated the Angie's List coupon that took $25 off our bill, bringing it down to $360. We will definitely call Miteff Plumbing for further plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Repaired/replaced two pipes in basement: one leaking, the other corroded; Cleared trap line of sink that was draining slowly; Repaired toilet tank that was not refilling; Cleaned and tightened kitchen faucet that was occasionally dripping; Cleared line to our water filter that had mineral sediment preventing a good flow; also looked at an older shower cold water handle without a stop and recommended a repair option.

I am planning an extensive bathroom remodel. Have company coming shortly, so needed a new toilet right away. Josh arrived, very professional and customer oriented in his approach. I thought I was only going to do the estimate. Josh was willing to get and install the toilet that same day. Top grade Kohler extra tall toilet ,jumbo wax, bolts and new supply line was installed. Old toilet was removed and taken away. Total cost was $550 which I was very satisfied with. He did a quick efficient very clean job. I will be using this company for the remainder of the remodel later this summer. Its a case of great work by great people. As an aside....I used this company a little over a year ago to remodel a small 1/2 bath and I have to say their work is still up to a very high standard. I will use this Company for all of my future plumbing work. You will not be disappointed if you talk with Shawn Denny, the owner of this pluming co.

It was a very friendly yet professional experience with Jody. He was able to accommodate my short availability schedule, was prompt and kept me informed with each step of the process. My shower/tub 3 handle fixture was no longer up to code requiring a more expensive modification to replace the fixtures. The other bathroom sink needed the fixture replaced which he picked up for me (very pleased with his choice of fixtures). The shower drain in this bathroom needed to be replaced and required an adapter that he did not have with him. He drove back into town to get the parts and fixture needed and still finished the job within a very reasonable amount of time. Very pleased with this company and will definitely use them again in the future!!!

They were out a total of 3 times. Initially they thought it was just splashed water around the faucet handle that was leaking under the sink. They caulked the faucet area. It became obvious to us the next morning that the issue wasn't resolved and they came back to investigate. They replaced some lines and suggested a new kitchen faucet. I didn't have time to shop for the faucet and they did it for me! They sent a picture of the proposed replacement and had it with them when they came out the 3rd and (hopefully) final time. They replaced the faucet, took out the hot water dispenser that wasn't working and capped that hole, and cleared out a clogged shower head and checked a drain for me. Initial cost was $80 for service fee, second bill was $500. The faucet price was $260 of that amount. Another thing I appreciated was they noticed another repair item in the house and pointed us in the right direction to get it fixed. They texted me the contact information and I trust their recommendations....I will post a review on that company after the work gets done. To sum up the review, I will recap my initial meeting with them outside of the house. A couple in a car had stopped in front of the house to talk with them and they shouted out to me that "I hired the best company". I concur.
Description of Work: Initial consult on 4/30 for leaky kitchen faucet. Thought it was fixed but had to have back out as the problem was more major than initial thoughts. Cost of initial consult/ repair $80. They ended up replacing the faucet and replacing some pipes, taking out a hot water dispenser and clearing out and checking a shower head.

I wanted to replace the toilet and was told by the previous homeowner that the toilet flange was cracked. I asked that while the plumber was there if they would also check the water line to the refrigerator as the automatic ice maker was not working. The plumber called as they were delayed on another job but did arrived at the time set in their call. Two men arrived and one started on removing the old toilet while the other started fixing the water line. The water line was a matter of replacing the shut off value. The old toilet was removed and it was found that the toilet flange was not cracked but broken. It would have been simple to replace the flange but the cast iron plumbing stack was worn and also needed repairs before the toilet could be installed. The plumbers needed additional parts to make the repairs. After they had the parts, they returned and completed the repairs. The entire repair took from 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm. While they were working on the repairs to the cast iron plumbing stack to install the toilet, it was found that the entire plumbing stack should be replaced as it was showing signs of rust. Miteff Plumbing returned two weeks later to repair the plumbing stack and install the new faucet in the laundry area. Repairs went quickly and everything was completed to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: The first visit was to install a new toilet and fix the water line to the refrigerator, which was done. The second visit was to replace the plumbing stack and install a new faucet in the laundry.

We called Sean for an emergency repair of a broken pipe. Applegate Heating had installed our Geo-Thermal furnace 2 years ago and improperly tightened a plastic pipe fitting. The fitting exploded and poured water from a 1" pipe all over our basement. We called Applegate to get an emergency repair and were told that they have no Geo-Thermal technicians available over the weekend. So we called Shawn at Miteff Plumbing. Shawn has done two previous jobs for us and we know we can count on him. He called us back immediately and came out at 7:00pm on a Saturday to fix the pipe. I feel Shawn can be completely trusted to put his customers first, he has always responded with a smile and genuine concern. We paid Applegate over $19,000.00 to install the Geo-Thermal furnace and they won't answer an emergency call. Shawn at Miteff didn't even install the furnace and he responded with a smile and fixed the furnace plumbing. Thanks again Sean Denny and Miteff Plumbing.

Shawn and the crew at Miteff Plumbing were incredibly fast, efficient and professional. We called them to quote a couple of plumbing jobs and they came out that same day. Shawn e-mailed the quote within the timeframe stated and was incredibly responsive around additional questions. Once we confirmed the go-ahead for their services, they arrived on time on the agreed upon date, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves. These guys will always be our first call for any future plumbing needs.

We hired Miteff Plumbing to completely tear out and remodel our main and master bathrooms. Miteff provided us with very good detailed proposals to demo both bathrooms and do all renovation work including plumbing/electrical, drywall, tile, install heated floors, install custom built vanities, storage cabinets and medicine cabinets and install new hardware and fixtures. This included new light fixtures, sinks and toilets in both baths; and a new bathtub and glass shower doors in the main bath. They built a beautiful walk-in shower with a euro glass wall and door in the master bath. They also installed a steamer in the master bath. They repiped both bathroom drains in our crawl space with PVC piping. They referred us to an excellent electrician, quartz countertop provider and installer, glass and mirror installer and painter. Our total bathroom remodel cost was $43,466, including the Miteff Plumbing proposals totaling $25,210. Shawn is the owner of Miteff Plumbing and Josh was the carpenter and tile installer on our remodels. All the work was done professionally and Shawn and Josh treated our home as if it were their own. We highly recommend Miteff Plumbing.

From Angies List - selected several contractors for estimates. Selected Miteff Plumbing for promptness and price.. On accepting their estimate, I was kept in the loop through the entire process from start to finish. All workmen were terrific - friendly, courteous, on time and proficient ! Site - from garage, basement to upstairs bathroom - were left clean and free of any leftover materials.

We got estimates on each task individually so we knew what exactly we were getting. The work was done in pieces on different days, depending on which workers were available and when parts arrived. The head guy, Shawn, was really good at keeping track of all these details. He was good about emailing or calling in advance to let us know who was coming and when. Whoever came, they always put those little booties over their shoes and, for the bigger jobs, laid drop cloths down over their entire route in and out. They were very respectful of our property. Also, they always explained what they were doing and warned us ahead of time when hey were going to shut off the water. Everyone also seemed really knowledgeable. For instance, we had had other people in to look at out leaks and they couldn't figure out where the water was coming from, or said they couldn't fix it. Shawn saw everything immediately and fixed everything, no problem. Similarly, the carpenter, Josh, who made the new counter top and did all the tiling in the new bathroom came up with clever ideas to improve each of these projects. He didn't just blindly follow a blueprint without thinking it through for himself. If there is a weakness in this company, it is that they are now so popular that you have to wait a while to get their services. In our case, that was not a problem, and the quality of the outcome was definitely worth it.
Description of Work: We had a laundry list of things we needed. It included fixing several leaking pipes, replacing faucet fixtures in multiple sinks, replacing one bathroom counter top, and demolishing another bathroom and re-tiling it. A

:I called Shawn Denny around 2:30 to have him replace the gas pipe fittings and valve for a new gas range I had purchased. The current fittings were corroded and not up to code. They were here around 4:00 and removed the old fittings and installed the new ones. He also gave me the Angie's list special discount without my requesting it. They were very professional and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them without reservation.

I was very impressed with Miteff Plumbing. I met Shawn because the contractor that was doing my tile work in my bathroom had recommended him. I was in need of a plumber quick, and Shawn came over right away. Which I appreciated greatly, because there were a lot of other contractors and things happening, and I couldn't move forward with the project, until I had a plumber come over. He was more than willing to come to look at the job, even though it was already the end of the work day. He gave me a fair bid and agreed to get started on it right away. He and a few of his guys started the project the next morning. Shawn was there when he said he would be and he and all his guys were very kind, personable and considerate of my house (making sure not to let a mess). They finished the job in a very timely matter, it looked great and I was very pleased with his service. I have since used Mifett Plumbing for several small issues around my house, clotted drains, broken garage disposal and faucet issues. Shawn always is quick to response, arrives on time, fixes the problem quickly, cleans up his mess and is fair with his pricing. I continue to be impressed with their service and have also recommended them to several friends and family.

While changing a kitchen faucet I discovered that I did not have shut off valves. I called Miteff Plumbing and spoke with Shawn hoping he could fix the issue the same day. He said he could and his worker actually came out early. I did not ask for a quote because I had worked with Shawn previously and was charged fairly. The worker was on the job for less than 30 minutes and had minimal parts (less than $20). My bill came to $175 (less an Angie's List 10% discount). At that time I was told that is what the flat rate is. I was extremely disappointed with the cost. When there is a high flat rate charge, I should have been told about it ahead of time. When I questioned Shawn, he said he thought his price was fair and he wasn't going to change it. I should have re-checked Angie's List as it looks like the reviews on Miteff have dropped lately.

Response from Miteff Plumbing
I do appreciate the feedback provided. I too regret not quoting a price over the phone, and made the mistake of assuming the customer was familiar with our flat rate price because they were a returning customer. For that I do apologize, but I have learned a valuable lesson. I am disappointed that the review failed to mention the customer was refunded their money. In the effort to help resolve the issue, we decided to refund the money in full regardless of the parts and labor provided. It is disheartening to see a review like this when in fact they were not charged anything and we did our best to rectify the situation in a beneficial manner for our customer.
Called them to get a quote on the above work. My call was returned promptly and an appointment was set up. Shawn was a few minutes late to the initial appointment, but called ahead to let me know he was running behind, so no big deal there. Shawn had some good suggestions for the remodel and gave me a very competitive price, so we decided to go with them for the work. Shawn referred me to a couple of places to pick out fixtures and cabinetry. I was concerned that ordering those things on my own would make the whole process more difficult, but was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Picked out my fixtures and let them know Miteff would be picking them up, everything went very smoothly with the exception of the sink not being ready until the last possible minute (which was the fault of the manufacturer, nothing that could be done about that really). First day, Shawn and one of his employees showed up promptly when scheduled to start the demolition. They got the whole bathroom gutted that day and the new shower and surround installed. Was really happy with the progress they made and the work they were doing was top notch. The next couple days things didn't go as smoothly, unfortunately. The electrician and drywaller that Shawn brought in were both, apparently, only able to work after 4pm. Unfortunately, Shawn never communicated that to us, so we were surprised to get home to find that work had just gotten started for a couple days, and to find that the drywaller hadn't even shown up yet on one day. This was a bit of a problem since we could only have our dog out of the house until 7, which was communicated to Shawn before the project started. The good news is, the electrician did great work. Sadly, I can't say the same about the drywaller. He missed a few small holes in the wall which I ended up patching myself. Additionally, I have noticed since completion that one of the spots he patched is not properly smoothed (it's actually not filled to level with the surrounding drywall) and one of the corners in my bathroom does not meet properly (there's a "ravine" running down the corner if you look closely, probably not a huge deal but it will make it hard to clean). Additionally, the drywaller didn't do a very good job of cleaning up after he finished so there was a lot of drywall dust in the bathroom, some of which got into parts of the paint when they painted. After the so-so drywall work, I was a little nervous about the rest of the job. Fortunately, everything else went smoothly. The flooring was installed and looked great, the new molding was excellent, though I would have liked them to have painted it white instead of the same color as the walls (they never asked and we assumed that the molding would be left white as that's pretty standard, or so my wife and I thought). The new toiled, vanity, tank-topper cabinet, medicine cabinet, light fixture, etc all were well installed and look great. The final problem I had was after the work was complete. I asked Shawn to provide me with an invoice for the services provided. I didn't want anything special, just a basic invoice of the materials they provided and cost as well as the labor hours and their cost for my records. I don't think that's anything extraordinary to ask for (nothing different than you would expect to get from, say, a mechanic), however, I never got one. I even contacted Shawn again a few weeks after the job was complete to ask for an invoice again and haven't heard a word back from him. It's unfortunate to end what was otherwise a largely positive experience on such a negative note. I have to say, I'm torn, because the work that Miteff did (with the exception of the issues mentioned with the drywall) was top notch and looks great. However, the lack of communication and the fact that they still haven't provided me with a final invoice for the work performed means that I probably wouldn't hire them again.

I called Miteff because of the great reviews on Angie's List. I'm so glad I did! I called on Monday morning and Shawn offered to come out the following day. It didn't work with my schedule so we arranged for him to come out today (a day later - Wednesday). My kitchen faucet was leaking (not dripping - leaking, as in water dripping from the pipes onto the cabinet below the sink). Also, the water pressure for the hot water was very weak. It was determined that the faucet would require several parts and Shawn suggested it might be easier to just replace the (at least 12 year old) faucet. He had another job in the area and said he could return when he was finished to install the faucet for me. I ran out to Home Depot, bought a replacement faucet and he and his assistant returned shortly after I got home to install it. It works great - no leaks and strong water pressure on both cold and hot water. The water pressure in the master bath was also weak so Shawn took the shower head apart, cleaned it and I once again have strong water pressure. I'm not sure what the issue was (my husband talked to him about it) but there was some kind of problem with our sump pump that was also repaired. The total bill was $175.00 which I thought was very reasonable. I had an Angie's List coupon for 10% of that so the total was $157.50.

I found Miteff Plumbing on Angie's list. I had them come to my house on April 2nd to fix my garbage disposal which was completely dead, dishwasher which was getting water backup, and upstairs toilet which was not flushing properly. They did great work, arrived when they said they would, were very thorough in their investigations of the problems, were very courteous in my home, and explained the problems and recommended solutions in a professional way that I could understand. I was so impressed, I called them again when my tub got clogged on April 14th, and again on May 2nd to replace the upstairs toilet and install a vent for my pipe drain in the basement. I will continue to use them for all my future plumbing needs.

Arrived exactly on time. Very friendly and job only took about a half hour. Pleased with results except I showed him the coupon and he had quoted me a price of $175 when I asked before job was done and then after job was complete he told me job was $185. With coupon I paid $165. I thought that was high since I know the repair part only costs $35.

Thanks for the response [member name removed]. $185 is our standard price for a Woodford brand frost free hose spigot replacement. I'm sorry for the miscommunication on the price. Our prices are very competitive compared to the other licensed and reputable companies in the area. I hope we can continue to service your plumbing needs in the future. We will be careful to communicate our pricing clearly and upfront. Thanks again. Shawn

While watching TV, I heard the alarm on my sump pump go off. I discovered that my sump pump had stopped working in the middle of a several day period of rain. During such periods, our sump pump runs very frequently. I went to Angie's List and after going over the reviews on several plumbers, I selected Miteff Plumbing. I called and talked to Shawn Denny, the owner, that same evening. He said that he could come over the next morning. I called him the next morning to set up a time for him to come over at 10:30 A.M. He and his partner arrived just when he had told me. They had the new sump installed by Noon. In addition, I asked if he could fix the drain on our tub. Both jobs were done very efficiently and professionally. I am very pleased that I selected Miteff. I have made a record to be sure and use them again when needed.
