Lane's Appliance Repair

I continue to be impressed with the service from Lane's Appliance Repair. The latest repair was on our KitchenAid dishwasher. Brian D was the repair tech. He is knowledgable, efficient, and professional. In this case, the factory had shipped a wrong part and so Brian had to return a few days later to complete the job. Brian always puts protective covers on his shoes and this time, due to the COVID-19 virus, he also put on a clean pair of gloves before beginning the repair. I find the labor charges to be reasonable. Bottom line, I recommend them very highly.

Brian D was our service technician. He quickly found our problem and proceeded to thaw the frozen water line which feeds the ice maker. He answered my questions as he made repairs. It was quick job of diagnosing the problem and making the repair. Yes, I would call them again if/when I have another need for their services.

Bosch's warranty department gave me a list of several appliance repair companies. I made the right choice by calling Lane's Appliance Repair! The operator that took my call was courteous and professional and efficiently took the necessary information to schedule the repair. The technician, Andy V., was friendly and professional. He kept his work space well organized and clean. He proved to be expert at his craft, quickly diagnosing the problem, ordering the correct part, and fixing the machine. He arrived exactly when he promised and completed the repairs within his estimated amount of time. I can't write enough nice things to say about the professionalism and operational excellence at Lane's Appliance Repair.

My service call was set up promptly at a time that worked for everyone. I received a call regarding a cancellation window, so I was able to get the work done even sooner. I was given a window of time, and Brian (service technician) called 30 minutes out. He arrived within the window and diagnosed the problem. He needed to order new hoses for the repair, and we were able to schedule a follow up appt. while he was at the house. The second visit went as smoothly as the first. He was careful, clean (carries a towel for water drips), and gave me a few tips about some other minor issues I was having with the washer. They take all credit cards or a check, so paying for services was simple.

Repairman Chris did not use TFE paste when installing gas line to cooktop. I asked why not? He claimed it was not necessary and he never used it. After he left, I discovered the smell of gas in the cabinet. I turned the gas off and reinstalled the line with the paste. While reinstalling the line I discovered that he had not secured the cooktop to the cabinet. He taped the bracket to shims that were not secured to the cabinet. Totally unprofessional. Hire Lane's Appliance Repair at your own risk. He didn't even leave a receipt for the work!

1st visit determined that the ice maker needed to be replaced. Second visit was only a week later. About a month later, I called because the ice maker was not filling the container. He came right back out and found the part was faulty and will return in 3 days with a new part.

Great. Could hardly have been better.

When the "fix" didn't hold, I saw a different Lane's. The new fan often started making noises less than two months after replacement. Their first response was that my 60-day warranty was expired when it wasn't. And then, as you might guess, it didn't make any noise when Andy came out to fix it. He told me to record it when it happens again and call them. I did that a couple of days later and nothing's happened in almost 3 weeks since.

Suggested I buy a new one even though it was only 5 years old. Took the time to show me why. We did. Brian one of the good ones, even though I had never met him before.

Great. On time, fast and reasonable.

Poorly. Nice guy. But had virtually zero good advice to give. We absolutely could have accomplished what he had to offer over the phone in about 4 minutes. Instead, they got $65 out of me. They knew it was a Bosch. They said they work on Bosch. I'm not convinced. He screwed with the detergent door, flipping it open and shut about 25 times. My wife and I already did that. He had no clue at what point in the cycle the door should open. I'm the one that suggested perhaps we should change the entire detergent door panel (a small panel on the interior). He gave me a price of $188 for that. But he gave me zero confidence that would do it. I won't call them again.

The company obtained parts and installed them promptly and correctly. Very professional.

Excellent service, definitely knew what he was doing. I would hire again.

The serviceman, Walter, identified the part that needed to be ordered. Once it arrived, a second visit had it properly installed, up and working again.

It went well. Walt came in and assessed the problem as the compressor start relay switch. He had one in his truck so he was able to fix it at that time. The freezer immediately started cooling off and I haven't had a problem since then.

Walt called before he came and arrived at the time the company said he would. We explained the problem to him of the internal water leakage from the refrigerator. He explained to us that the refrigerator was old and would see if the line could be either fixed or replaced at a reasonable price--or he would recommend to either keep the current refrigerator without the water line for water dispensing or to purchase a new refrigerator. Luck for us the line could be replaced at a reasonable price. We always felt he was looking out for our best interest. Was not trying to sell us something we did not need or want. Walt was wonderful and very informative.Without question, would hire this company again .

Excellent! Brian, is very quiet, but will speak when spoken to :) He takes care of the little things: asking if he was blocking a car in the driveway. He also removed his shoes before entering. Very polite! Completed the work quickly and made sure he had safety buckets in place in case of water spillage, etc. He originally came out about 5 days ago, but needed to order a part for the repair and in the mean time, gerry-rigged the frig to work for us while we waited. I also asked about an ice maker and he tipped me to an alternative solution that was easy and turned out to be much cheaper. Scheduling was super easy on the phone and very friendly. I will call them EVERY time I can't repair something myself

On Labor Day the power in my area was out for eight hours. When power was restored a stray voltage surge fried the digital controls on several appliances. I wish the initial appointment would have been sooner-it took 4 or 5 business days before they could examine the problem. Otherwise they are a very professional and competent service.

I had a new washer that was installed incorrectly by a big box store which resulted in the loss of a load of clothes. After hooking cold water to cold inlet and hot to hot problem was solved and I requested replacement of some of the clothes from the installer. Installer denied claim saying it was a product defect. Lane's Appliance came out the day after I called and verified that the washer was working correctly. It was awesome to have such quick, friendly and experienced service from Lane's. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future.

My 10 yr old front load LG washer would not drain and the drum would not spin. I looked on Angie's List and found and called Lane's Appliance Repair in the morning and left a message. My call was returned by Kathy shortly and I had someone at my house within 45 minutes. The problem was determined quickly. I was quoted a price for the repair. Walter had the replacement part in his van and repaired the damaged stator. He then made sure there was nothing else wrong (that it would drain) before he left. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and the entire process was quick and easy. Walter mentioned that they service all major appliances. I will definitely use Lane's Appliance Repair for future repair needs.

He was able to diagnose quickly and tell us the cause of the heatup.

I left the company a message on Sunday afternoon, had a call from them at 8 a.m. on Monday morning and they were able to work me into their Monday afternoon schedule. Walt was able to arrive a few minutes early and was welcoming and friendly. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem with our dryer and was able to fix what was wrong within about 30 minutes. The entire process lived up to past experiences with the company and I will absolutely recommend them to others and will use them again.

They were good. They came on time, diagnosed the problem and they had the part with them so they fixed it in one visit. I thought their price was reasonable.

Everything works fine now. Jeremy was polite, convivial, and unfailingly helpful. He provided an explanation of the problem and repair. He also glued a gasket ring to the door of our clothes dryer (using a new part I previously purchased) and helped us get the best deal on pricing. (My "B" grade for "Price" is not so much an implied criticism as a lack of ability to know what the going rate for this type of repair is.

It was a puzzling problem but Jeremy was determined and successful! He and his technician Walt were very patient with my frustration over the whole washer issue and performed above and beyond! Contact with the manufacturer was required and Jeremy replaced a part with assurance to return if that didn't work. It did and I am one very happy and satisfied customer! Thanks Lane's Repair. However, Lane's did not receive the 'schedule appointment' that I submitted thru Angie's List. Not the first time this has happened to me in Angie's List, so if you want Lane's Service (and you do!), contact them directly.
